Nice hotel close to the airport
I used the hotel only for flight transit. Though I arrived at the airport late at night because of the delay of flight, the driver of the shuttle waited me and brought me to the hotel safely. He took me to the airport next morning safely and timely. The staff of the hotel was kind and prepared breakfast timely.

Hotel is closer to the airport
This hotel is very close to the airport. It's a nice place to be. The only negative thing is mosquito bites. Rooms need to be sprayed regularly to prevent mosquito bites.

Filthy, I didn't want to touch the walls or even the sheets, I slept in my clothes, the place was gross and WAY overpriced.

Rigid Management Policy
I was well received but needed to alter my booking by staying out on 18th August and coming back to the hotel on 19th to to still 20th to depart on 21st . The need to do so arose after realizing that my conference meeting was ending late on 18th evening and I didn't feel safe been driven at night by taxi. The hotel manager was not flexible to that effect. I had to leave on 18th having slept in that hotel for only one night and look for alternative accommodation. Kindly refund my money at least for 19th night. Thank you. Josephine

Great for your first and last night: Near airport
The hotel is close to the airport and is a good spot for arrivals and departures. Also, not too expensive. Therein nothing of interest in the neighborhood (to me, at least). Near the motorway for getting around town though. The first time I tried to stay there the electricity was out and they couldn't accept guests. Frequent power outages are common in Accra and Ghana in general.

Don't do it
It's barely functional. You can definitely get a better hotel at the same or lower price. Exactly the same limited breakfast every morning served in sweaty hot room with broken aircon by never smiling woman. Most barren rooms with no art painted in brown and dirty white, broken shower fittings, security guards that fall asleep at night so don't open gate. They have no phone number for taxi. Aircon of room above me was right outside my window and always noisy even when my noisy aircon was off. What else you want to know?

Nous avons été mal accueuillis car étant 2 hommes adultes nous aurions dû prendre 2 chambres Malgrés que nous ayant pris en reservation une grande chambre , rien n'y a fait Hors notre résa était une grande chambre pour 2 personnes adultes Ns y venons depuis 8 ans mais d'ordinaire il nous est refusé un lit 140 pour 2 , et nous prenons un king size pour ne pas payer 2 chambres . De plus je m'était foulé severement la cheville en tombant dans un profond caniveau en sortant à pied de l'aéroport et j'avais beau expliquer qu'il me fallait du repos et ne pouvait me déplacer sans l'aide de mon ami , aucune pitié Pour le petit déjeuner : à notre grande surprise il nous en ont amené un car le 2ème n'était pas compris dans le forfait qui était pourtant inclus dans une grande chambre pour 2 personnes Ils ne nous ont meme pas proposé d'en acheter un 2 ème , ils n'en ont simplement servi qu'un seul et mon ami a pris le taxi pour partir sans petit déjeuner !! alors que 2 ont été facturés C'est de la petite escroquerie

renovate washroom and clean
It was disappointing. l booked 2 rooms and all washrooms were not cleaned. No running water. Condition at the hotel wasnt worth staying. Left as early as 6 AM.

It was my worst experience ever in a foreign country, the mosquitoes, and other insects were disgusting. As if that wasn't bad enough, the Power plant broke down. We were later transferred to a sister hotel somewhere in town

空港に近い、アクラにしては比較的割安なゲストハウス
名称はホテルであるが、東南アジアであれば大きな一軒家を宿泊施設用に改築したゲストハウスである。各部屋の名称は〇〇号室ではなく、米国大統領、米国政府に関連した名前が付けられている。部屋の大きさ、設備、クーラーの効き具合等、部屋によってまちまちである。ベッドはいずれもクイーンからキングサイズ。空港に近いホテルは軒並み高価格であり、当該施設のようなゲストハウスの存在は有難いと言える。3泊したが、朝食はいつも同じもので、トースト2枚、ジャム、バター、具の入っていないオムレツ、コーヒー又は紅茶である。可もなく不可もなく。キッチンの従業員は感じがよく、昼食に地元の料理を注文したが、とても美味しかった。道路を挟んだ向かいにも小さな食堂があり、遠出をしなくても事足りる。ただ、タクシーをつかまえるには少し歩かなければならないのが難点である。結論として、強く推薦はしないが、アクラにおけるコストパフォーマンスは悪いものではないと判断する。

Hotel was fine, should one look for a reasonable priced hotel this is fine, more suitable for a short stay, convenient close to the airport and hotel staff are friendly.

Good value, clean and comfortable
This was my first time to try Hotel Obama when coming to Accra. I decided to try it as I was tired of paying the crazy $250-$300 per night rates many hotels around the airport charge. After staying at the Hotel Obama I will no longer stay at any of the other hotels as the huge price difference isn't warranted. The staff at Obama were very friendly and helpful, the bed was perfectly clean and comfortable and while the bathroom was a bit tired it too was also perfectly clean and functional. Next time I'm returning to Accra I'll choose to stay at the Obama again.

NOT MUCH. Chose it only since hotels.com had it listed as having complimentary airport transfers, and for a short sty this was paramount in an unfamiliar environment . I made a special note when booking it with flight number, time etc to meet me at airport. Next day after booking, I emailed on my own the hotel to inform them again of my arrival info . NEVER got a response back from them , and neither were they the upon arrival. I arrived at hotel with taxi driver, asked the management to pay the driver but they refused. same with the ride back to the airport, even after I showed them on the hotels.com listing. They said they wouldn't do it. OK , so I won't do something for them- give a good review. I do not appreciate dishonesty , unscrupulous biz practices and getting taken. They got me once, and if I can save YOU the same, I will feel that the money I wasted on this old dump was not a loss . Keep searching. Pass this one up. Thank you for your attention .

Clean basic hotel close to airport
I thought that Hotel Obama is a great value for the area surrounding the airport. The room was clean and quite large and the internet was fast. I think the hotel is typical for a mid-range African hotel (non-chain) and the price makes it very attractive. If you keep your expectations in line you will be very pleased. I am not sure if I would stay for longer than a week but for a few days it does the trick.

Unsatisfactory
I reluctantly accepted a change to Obama Hotel when the hotel I was initially booked into by Hotels.com had no space for me even after booking early. I was not disappointed at the fact that the experience wasn't going to be good. It was less than a 1 star hotel. The hotel, though clean, was in a state of disrepair. My toilet was flooded and the tv obsolete (CRT). I had to walk out of the hotel lobby in the rain to go to the restaurant. Was told there is complimentary airport pick up but this was not the case. For $90 or thereabouts, I expected more. Most of the workers were nice and helpful except for one that was trying to collude with a taxi driver to defraud me. So be very vigilant.

Good for the money
Room is basic but the air conditioning works, the room is clean, and importantly the generator works too, and it's pretty close to the airport. Be careful to note the location on Google Maps -- there is only one Hotel Obama and it's north of the airport, not south. I only had one breakfast, it was decent by the standards of Ghana (beans, eggs, etc.).

Only backpackers allowed!
I usually don't rate hotels if I only stayed 1 night. But I had to warn off people who read how great this hotel is. If I was in my late teens and backpacking on a budget with friends, it would be great. I ended up there as I transited in Accra on my way to next door Ivory Coast. But what exactly was wrong? Everything: The door to the room didn't close properly; the toilet didn't flush, unless you remove the WC's tank cover and pull the lever yourself so that the water would go down. Of the 4 electric plugs in the room, only 1 worked; so I had to wake up every 2-3 hours to check if my phone had enough juice so I could unplug it and put in my iPad, then once the iPad had enough, replace it with my laptop.. Also, the WiFi didn't work, not inside the room. But by standing outside the room in the corridor with my laptop, I could pick up 2 bars of signal. Of course, I couldn't stand in the corridor for long. So, had to go back inside my room. This is a 1.5 star hotel. The AC made a raucus when on. I had to turn it off to get some sleep. The rooms' curtains are the single, thin, almost transparent type. If you’re on the ground floor, the guy doing his security rounds can see you (and you can see him). Mind you, as Elite member, I had what they called an Executive Room. I wonder what the regular rooms were like. The breakfast? A joke: bland eggs (no cheese) with a piece of bread. No other choice. I've seen Motel-6 on I-95 far more luxurious.

Hotel located in a nice well improved neighborhood
For the price of $100 a night, including taxes, l wasn't very impressed with the condition of the rooms - seemed to have lacked attention to detail with maintenance over time. Good people with the right attitude, however the general ambience at the place could be more professional. Breakfast was included with stay. I expected better for a 3 star hotel at $100/night.

Einfaches Hotel unweit des Airporrt
Gutes und einfaches Hotel, schnell vom Airport zu erreichen. Der Service des Hotels ist im Allgemeinen gut, denn ich kenn dieses Hotel schon lange. Aber bei diesem Aufenthalt war der Wasserheizer defekt, und die Fernbedienung des TV war defekt, wir mussten per Hand schalten. Das Restaurant ist einfach, leider gibt es nur einige Menüs und Salate die aber auf der Karte enthalten sind, Restaurant kann man also nicht empfehlen. Frühstück ist sehr einfach, Die Küche ist extrem langsam.

Guter Service, nah am Flughafen und ruhig
Hab zweimal mit Kindern im Hotel übernachtet. Internet-Verbindung ist sehr gut. Die Chefin sorgt für einen extrem guten Service (Taxis, Gepäckaufbewahrung bis Abflug im extra-Zimmer) und ist sehr hilfsbereit, klappt meist auch, wenn sie grad nicht da ist. Leckere Sandwiches! Am Ende der Straße (bei der Augenklinik) gibts kleine Restaurants und verschiedene Stände. Das Hotel ist auch in der Rushhour gut zu erreichen.

Loved this place
The price was right, the location was 10 minutes by cab (~$4.00 / 8 Cedi) to ACC. I was very comfortable, as was my 21 year old son. They truly exemplify a missing quality from most other hotels: customer service. I loved the way they interacted with us. They offered suggestions. They let us keep (no charge!!!) our luggage their for 6 days until we returned for our final night in the Accra area. The dining was certainly adequate. Nice outing seating area or indoor if you prefer. The continental breakfast included in the room price was a good little veg omelette with some very tasty toast... plus milk/coffee/tea. Only water costs extra, which is standard pretty much anywhere. Nothing special, but relaxed and I was grateful after long travels to have dinner right there on property. We found the location of the hotel, aside from its proximity to the airport, central enough. Close to Wild Gekko (an upscale local curio shop) and near a tro tro station to take elsewhere in Accra. I was glad that we had booked through hotels.com because I think it costs a bit more when you do it in person... plus, since everything is cash over there, it was nice to have this expense already addressed and have the cash for other expenditures.

not bad for the price
I just needed a room close to the Accra airport, and this was the cheapest option available to me. Rooms were simple but clean with working air-conditioning breakfast was provided. Two issues were (1) it is not located where the map indicates (it was in fact a bit farther), and more importantly (2) hotel shuttle service to/from the airport is NOT included. Also, please note that the phone number provided on Hotels.com doesn't work! Check online elsewhere for their actual phone number if you need to contact the hotel...

L'hôtel est bien situé, environ 10 minutes de l'aéroport mais le service n'est vraiment pas à la hauteur du prix. Il y avait un cafard mort dans la douche dont la lumière ne marchait pas...le petit déjeuner censé être compris et prêt à 7 heures du matin était inexistant...bref, bien trop cher pour ce que c'est!!

Kleines und gutes Hotel
Das Hotel ist gut, Restaurant kontinental und zu empfehlen, Leider war im Zimmer die Klimaanage defekt, kein Service hat sich gekümmert, wir haben sehr geschwitzt in der Nacht, denn es kam warme Luft aus der Airkon. Die Zimmerbeleuchtung konnte nur von der Tür, weit entfernt von den Betten ein und aus geschaltet werden. Viele Lampen defekt.
