Dear Justin, Rather shocked by your bitterly harsh review, especially after your checkout remarks of “a lovely stay thanks very much” rather a contradictory review after that comment. Really don’t understand how a handful of brass objects (brass stags, hinds and eagle) and literally a couple of prints at the top of the stairs could be so offensive to you. not that we need to justify the period nature of the building or some of the items that agitated you. the building wouldn’t suit a premier inn type décor nor would we want that for our hotel. We are pleased to say that most of our guests we have through the doors appreciate the décor as it’s in keeping with the hotel style, having said that it’s not going to be to everyone’s taste and that’s fine as long as on the whole it appeals to the majority of guests we pitch to, and I’m pleased to say on the whole it dose. However, what I feel very sad about is that weather it was intended from your side or not is the fact that your review and comments very much cross the line of being rude. rather than just constructive criticism, and that you paying £120 for the night B&B entitles you to that rudeness! All I can think is that your own mansion must be impeccable. Your point about being in a single room I again don’t understand as you booked that yourself so why be shocked when you received a single room with a single bed, you could have booked a double or a suite if you wished more space and a king-sized bed.
