Property was very unique and cool at the city wall. Ver convenient too. What made the experience truly fantastic however was the level of service of the owner and front desk. Javier runs a top notch hotel and gave a personal level of attention and service that made us feel very special.

A wonderful place to stay for a remarkable and unique experience. Javier welcomed us and made our stay incredibly nice. We had special attentive service such as a welcome glass of wine and nightly water decanter placed in our room. The service overall was just top notch. We stayed in I think the best room, in the tower (In English it is called the and Madness room!). Absolutely beautiful sunrise and mountain views from everywhere in the room. On our last morning, we choose breakfast in the Solarium and it was incredible--- attention to detail and the exquisite tastes made this an amazing experience. Highly recommend.

Señor Javier was a gracious and attentive host with a wonderful smile. We wished we had planned a longer stay at this beautiful castle/hotel. The view from both our room and the tower was spectacular. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was huge, and Javier lays out a delicious breakfast. If we ever come back to this area, we will stay here!

Historic wine stay
Castillo El Collado is a historic building with modern amenities. It is like staying in the castle of Beauty and the Beast. It has a tower that is the second highest level in LaGuardia (first is the church). Tower has 360 degree view (breathtaking). Our host Javier was very accommodating and helpful. Car parking is on street or in nearby lots. Our room was very romantic, a four poster bed with “curtains”. LaGuardia is a very laid back village, but it has many restaurants and bodegas in the town, and within 10 minutes drive. Go there for wine tasting and to experience the slow life.

Fabulous view from our room and from the tower. Great location for touring the picturesque old city and the many wineries in the area. Javier at the hotel and David in the restaurant were wonderful.

The hotel was very nice. The owner and staff were delightful and we would stay there again, no question. It is a beautiful restored castle in a very convenient and quiet area. We were treated like the king and queen of the castle !

Recuerdo inolvidable.
Muy bien. La atención fue estupenda. En la parte de abajo del hotel tienen un restaurante en donde ofrecen una comida muy buena, en un “calado” original de la zona. En la habitación digna de un castillo, la ropa de cama y baño muy limpia y suave. Entorno muy silencioso en donde se puede descansar muy a gusto. Las vistas desde el torreón son espectaculares a todo el valle en donde se albergan numerosas bodegas del mejor Rioja. El pueblo de Laguardia, sin duda, el más bello de la zona. Numerosas excursiones en un radio muy cercano. Hotel limpio y cuidado en donde su propietario está siempre muy atento y cercano para hacer de la estancia allí un momento inolvidable.

Delightful hotel in a gorgeous village
Nicely restored stone building just outside the walls an incredible fairy tale medieval village. The hotel was unique, well-appointed and comfortable. We were mainly left to ourselves most of the time. The view from the tower is lovely. Being there is like stepping back 500 years. Would definitely visit again!

Overall a good stay, outside is probably more impressive than the inside. Parking was convenient. And it was nice to have a room where we could actually open the windows for fresh air. my husband enjoyed the massage chair which was an unexpected surprise. We did not dine at the restaurant.

Great experience at a reasonable price. The castle has a tower with amazing views my room and bathroom with soaking tub were perfect. So romantic.

gorgeous historic building beautiful walled town
Really lovely stay. The staff were great the rooms huge and quirky. Very comfortable beds and enormous bathrooms. This isn’t a slick shiny white box style hotel it’s a very old fashioned grand building with quirks. However the rooms were so comfortable and large and the staff are great, not much English is spoken but we all managed to communicate. It’s right on the wall of the town we didn’t stay for breakfast as there are endless tapas bars very close by that do very tasty very cheap alternatives to breakfast. Gorgeous little town with amazing restaurants and bars. We didn’t have one bad meal in fact the food was fantastic everywhere we went. Also very close to loads of bodegas to do the wine tours. Walkable to ysios on the outskirts of town as well as many within the walls.

Lovely experience in a medieval setting
Castillo was a wonderful experience. Our room was very spacious and check in and check out were quite easy. The staff was friendly and accommodating and we really enjoyed the space and the tower with beautiful views of the surrounding vineyards and mountains. I would highly recommend the hotel and can not wait to return to beautiful Laguardia for another visit!

It was really fun to stay in a castle. LaGuardia is the perfect medieval walled city and the Castillo El Collado sits at one end of this walkable city. Cars are only allowed around the city walls not inside. So parking is going to be quite difficult and a good walk away from the property. Plus there are many stairs to get up to the door and more to get to your room and no lift. Just FYI. I would still stay here because how many times to you get to stay in a Castle? good food and good people.

Vi kom tilfeldigvis midt oppi San Joahn festivalen som varer hele denne uken. Musikk og karneval i gatene, okseslipp gjennom gatene på fredagen. Skal mye til for å toppe en sånn opplevelse tilfeldig.

A special place in a lovely village.
Great stay in this lovely hotel. As with previous comments the only downside is the distance from the car park and steps up to the hotel........just take your time it’s worth the effort.

Charmantes persönliches Schlosshotel mit individuell eingerichteten Zimmern und Blick ins baskische Rioja Gebiet. Die Zimmer sind sehr romantisch eingerichtet, äusserst komfortabel und z. T. sogar mit Massagesessel. Auch die Lage am Eingang zur Altstadt ist ideal! Sehr zu empfehlen!

雰囲気のある古城ホテル
静かな村ラグアルディラにある古城ホテル。 規模は小さいですが、充分に雰囲気を楽しめました。部屋もバスルームも清潔で快適でした。 エレベーターがないので、荷物を運ぶのが大変でしたが…大満足の滞在となりました。 現地で申し込みをした朝食もリーズナブルでオススメします。

Anna was a gracious host. We loved the room, the grounds, and the town of Laguardia. The only problem was that the shower head would not stay in the hook on the wall. Other than that, everything was wonderful.

Great hotel in an old castle
We loved this hotel! We couldn't believe it was only rated as two star. We thought the hotel was equivalent to 4 star hotels we stayed at elsewhere in Spain. The service was top notch and the linens and cleanliness of the hotel was very good. Highly recommended.

The staff, Virginia and Ana, were very helpful in letting me know about what the hotel and town had to offer as well as arranging wine tours. The hotel is in a castle and is very nice, located in a great area and has that old European charm. I would definitely stay there again without hesitation and look forward to doing so in the future.

Worth going out of your way
This is a remarkable confluence of place and space. The town, itself, is lovely and accessible and the Hotel is amazing, grand and intimate at the same time. And, Virgiinia, who seems to be behind the desk all the time, is an expert on all things local and fun. Her hints and guidance were perfect. So, go to Laguardia and stay at the castillo el Collado.
