This hotel has a great location right in front of the beach. The hotel is clean; the room was rather basic … what you would expect for a 3 or 3.5 star hotel. The breakfast buffet was average.

Ideal for a short 2-3 business trip, hotel is quite limited especially around the pool, if you can get a lounger its great, i had a shared communal balcony, which was fine for me, however couples may wish to request rooms with your own balcony Food i couldn't fault and the staff were attentive..needless to say there is abundance of food options in the old town and main square too Beat feature of the hotel is by far the view looking out onto the beach etc

Hotel itself was overall satisfactory. Premium room was extremely spacious and comfortable. The shower was first class. Excellent location, near town centre and the lift to beach. Breakfast options limited particularly the small amount of fresh fruit. Bufffet area itself had little space in which to circulate. We found the pool area unattractive and used the beach. Our stay was spoilt by the theft of 4 sets of earrings from our room. These were taken from a pouch in a zipped bag from our room which was only accessible with an issued key fob. Other valuables fortunately were in the safe. The manager was defensive and dismissive when we reported the theft and would not accept any responsibility. He tried to convince us that a theft had not occurred. We reported the theft at the local police station, GNR, who we found very helpful. We would not recommend the hotel because of this incident and the response of the manager.

Terrible customer service and extremely rude staff, please avoid this hotel. They charge you to €2.60 a day to use the safe, won’t give you glasses for the room and they no longer supply rituals toiletries. Breakfast was shocking and again restaurant and bar staff obnoxious…I was a returning customer after an amazing stay last year…this year I’d say this is a shock to see so much the hotel has changed for the worse 50 cents charged for them to ring you a taxi too. I would say spend your money elsewhere This is over rated and over priced as a 4 star it’s a 0 star from me

Excellent location with the beach nearby and Old Town walkable too. Our sea view was stunning. Quiet area with good area to sit outside restaurant. Rooms comfortable, pillows very lumpy, walk in shower very good, didn’t use pool as not enough seating around it. Breakfast not great quality, pancakes nice but other items not so good. On arrival there was no easy option to get your case up a few steps both at front door and from reception to lift. Staff were a little unhelpful, one or two were very good but on the whole they did not come across in a positive way. Cleanliness was very very good. Top marks to the hotel for levels of cleanliness. Overall we enjoyed our holiday but would probably have breakfast elsewhere if we returned.

The entire stay at this hotel was throughly enjoyable. For my personal preference it woild have been nice to have had a kettle for tea and coffee in the room. Would highly recommend this hotel

Excellent hotel in a fabulous location above the beach and minutes from the old town. Fabulous rooms, lovely bar and great staff. Definitely recommend this hotel.

Nice hotel
Hotel is situated in a great place with only a few hundred yards to the main strip and Square. Hotel is very clean and tidy with rooms cleaned every 2 days. Adults only hotel so not so noisy as others, but I will say that we had a room right above the pol area which could become quite noisy in the afternoon. We had B&B and the breakfast was a good standard. Apart from that I will be booking The Rocamar in future.

Ok hotel, convenient for the beach and the old town, premium room is comfortable with a great sea view, bar staff were friendly. Note that there is a charge of €2.50 per day for the room safe and WiFi wasn't great in the room. Overall a decent 3-star.

I really enjoyed my stay at Albufiera Rocamar Exclusive Hotel. I had a prime corner room with an ocean view, 2 double beds together and balcony. The room was lovely, clean and spacious with beautiful ocean views. The staff were generally very helpful and friendly. I was a bit disappointed with the spa. There was a maintenance issue with the hot tub, such that it was not hot at all. The pool was filled with water, but the water was freezing cold such that it was not possible to go swimming. Also, during a booked massage treatment, there was construction work going on right next door which dramatically impacted my ability to relax and enjoy the massage. I was also a bit disappointed with the hotel restaurant. The manager didn't allow my travel companions to eat breakfast at the restaurant (even though they were prepared to pay the 15 Euros per person) because they were not guests at the hotel. I found the breakfast menu was lacking in healthy choices (very little variety of fresh fruit, and no cooked oatmeal or grain cereal etc), and there were no pastries. However, the location of the hotel was excellent and the cleaning staff were very attentive. They replaced my wet towels every day. If you are willing to venture out somewhere else for breakfast and dinner, then the hotel was a very pleasant place to stay for a week.

We spent 4 nights at Rocamar in August, 2022. We usually stay at the Tivoli in Carvoeiro when visiting the Algarve, but wanted to branch out this trip for something new. The beauty of the property is not adequately seen from the front or even the back, but from the beach below the cliff. We had an oceanfront room with a balcony. We were actually directly above the pool and a great view of it, too. The room was spacious although the bedspread and decor appears to have been from the 70s. We spent a lot of time at the pool bar and esplanade bar and want to give a big shout out to Vinny & Paulo, both of whom treated us with excellent hospitality daily. The buffet breakfast was a welcome morning fuel source for our cliff hikes and hours on the beaches. It included an array of fruits, vegetables, meats & cheeses and hot items catered to the British. The milk for cereal was warm and the Delta coffee machine was a disgrace to Portuguese coffee, however. A wonderful man sanitized every table daily. Speaking of coffee... There are no coffee pots in the rooms and none in the lobby. Breakfast isn't served until 8AM, so if you want coffee before then, you have to go into Old Town to get a cup. There's an excellent pastelaria, Barhon, just 5 minutes away. One annoying thing about the hotel is access to the property before 8AM. The esplanade entrance is below the lobby. You cannot enter or exit the property from the esplanade until 8AM.

Great location!
Great check in. Easy and very pleasant. Room was ready early. On departure, we had to vacate the room by 12pm which was very generous! There is a shower and toilet provided along with a fresh towel so you can use the pool or go down to the beach while you wait for your late flight. Very convenient and a huge plus! Breakfast was OK, depends on what you like. Pool area is small and you have to bag a sun bed before breakfast which I think is an awful way to carry on. However, it came to ‘if you can’t beat em, join em’! This area could be made bigger and much more pleasant. Great views! We would stay here again anyway. It’s a really convenient spot!

A mediocre hotel
It is not a 4 star hotel. 2.5 stars. Check-in took very long time. The room was small and the bathroom was really small. Breakfast was ok but the coffee was undrinkable. They charged us for a different type of coffee, but again it was not enjoyable. The best thing about this hotel is its location and the AC. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Pleasantly surprised by how lovely the hotel was. Room was very clean, with air condition. The location was excellent, within a close walk to the town. The beach is close too. The pool was clean and lots of sun beds with a great beach view. Staff are also lovely and so helpful!

The hotel is immaculate, very clean. The staff are professional, helpful and friendly. The Spa is excellent and the treatments are very reasonably priced. Excellent location close to beach and old town. The hotel offers room service which we used on our last night as we left early in the morning

The hotel is clean , the infinity pool fantastic and it is a few steps from the beach. Also very near restaurant and shops. Carlos at reception is very friendly and kind .

What to say about my stay at the Rocamar Hotel and my advise to others that might be thinking about this place for their next vacation in WONDERFUL Albufeira? Simply put: DO NOT DO IT, NOT AT THE ROCAMAR. All of Portugal is, no doubt, full of the warmest, most welcoming people we have encountered in Europe. They take pride in what their country has to offer in history, culture, architecture, and needles to say, their cuisine. Hospitality wise, Lisbon, Porto, and other cities are full of true gems in hotel of all sizes and locations. Rocamar Hotel, however, is not one of them. This hotel is one of those places that looks deceptively great in website pictures. Possibly because they have conveniently chosen to display online a handful of slight renovated rooms and not show the majority of truly dilapidated rooms with fixtures and decore that must have looked sad even when it was first used in the eighties. To be fair and name the positives, one cannot argue with its location within Albufeira (it sits in close proximity to every main attraction in town) and it has an eagle’s eye, truly breathtaking view of the coastline and the beach that sits under the property. Sadly, that’s where the charm ends and the disappointment begins. Listing this hotel as a 4-star hotel property in online platforms like Travelocity, amounts to false advertisement. The features, facilities, and services that would grant this classification are objectively not there. All of these shortcomings, however,
