The Trailside Inn was clean and well appointed. However, the town of Alturas is not very nice.

Awesome cute little town and great food and stay!!
We never been to Alturas before and came across this hotel to stay on our journey thru. I am so glad we did what a cute little town and awesome clean and welcoming place to stay the night. It was well worth the price and all the accommodations included. I can also not leave this comment without mentioning the great Italiano restaurant a couple blocks down the street. Amazing pizza and food Italian sub and house dressing is amazing. We will be back to visit again….

Convenient stay while visiting froends. Did not soend much time. Staff is friendly and room was clean..the hotel is getting tored and needs update but we doubt they get much traffic.

Comfortable hotel
This older hotel is comfortable, allows 2 dogs per room, and is conveniently located for our interests. We plan on staying here again!

Staff was efficient. Breakfast was poor. It should be called Trailside Inn Motel. I was surprised to see what I was expecting as an Inn to be just a motel with pretentious name.

OK, but not great
The Trailside was ok. It's showing its age a bit, but everything functioned as it should. It was quiet and the mattress was as well. The carpeting is old and a heavier person couldn't have used the toilet in the bathroom.

Units were pretty basic. Staff was helpful, but the breakfast was not very good. There was little to choose from and they were out of forks, so we had to use a spoon for biscuits and gravy.

Awful!
We stayed one night at the Trailside inn. The toilet and sink were plugged up and when my husband went to the front desk to tell them they handed him a plunger. How ridiculous. I would never stay there again.

We had a room with two double beds. One bed made a huge metal clanking sound when you sat, moved, or stood up. Impossible to sleep on that. The tub drained slow. We didn’t stay for the 2nd night we had booked.

Options are limited in Alturas, but Trailside is a great place to stay for the price. The upstairs patio is enjoyable. There are a lot of trucks from construction crews staying there. (No complaint about the crew members.)
