I was called 5 hours prior to checking, during my layover by front desk informing me that I had not reservation as they were not accepting new reservations. I made this booking two weeks prior. If there were issues, I should have been informed immediately not day-of. I was promised a resolution with callback within 15 mins. Never was called back. Issue was resolved and room was provided, however poor communication. Wi-fi was "included" however the network in my wing did not work. Several guests, myself included, reported to front desk multiple times, no fix. I had to sit in the front lobby to access wi-fi to get work done online. Could not enjoy movies at night in my room which was a huge disappointment. My room was nearly 100deg when I walked into it! I had to shut off the heater and open a window for hours to cool it down. I could not sleep well first night due to this. The hotel claims it's "Under renovation" although I saw no renovations in my wing, however there were filthy hallway floors that needed a serious vacuuming in the A-wing 3rd floor. Personal articles left behind by guests such as shoes and clothing, were left on the floor in halls and open areas near elevators on the third floor for days. No common area housekeeping efforts. It began to resemble a crack house. Hotel claimed to be non-smoking though more than once I am certain I smelled fresh smoke odors. Fortunately the room was clean and the staff was courteous. Great location.

Great customer service, only wish yhat the lounge was open. Hotels in the perfect walking location to restaurants. Over all very happy.

New ownership and Management took over the hotel on September 1, 2020. We have obtained construction permits and some areas of the hotel are closed because remodeling has started. I hope you give us a chance next time you are in Anchorage, I'm sure you will be impressed with the hotel after the renovation.

I am sorry you had a bad experience at the Aviator Hotel. New Ownership and Management took over on September 1, 2020. This hotel looks nice from the outside, but the rooms do not look like they have been well-maintained. My room was musty smelling, several things didn’t work. The bed was very comfortable however.

I am still waiting on my refund. Had to leave and go somewhere else. The room I reserved wasn't available, they gave me a key to a room someone else was already in, then they didn't have usuable wifi even though they told me they did over the phone when I called before I made the reservation.

Decent place to stay
First we were given a room with 2 twin beds instead of the king bed that i booked, we were told thats all they had left, then when i said that i booked a room with a king they miraculously found a room with a King bed, then we came back before midnight on New Years Eve and the tv remote needed batteries, had to go back to the front desk and they had to get batteries from a remote in an unoccupied room. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was great for what you pay, but there was a very loud pop in the room, probably the hot water pipes clanging, at least once per hour if not 3 times per hour, that woke me and my gf up a couple times even though i had on a sound machine on my phone turned up full blast.

I had to change rooms 6 times-locked out of my first room and no heat in the others. I was given very little in compensation. I also left my $150 dollar blue tooth in one of the rooms and was gone the next morning.

Worth the money
I stayed here for 2 days for an anniversary celebration and they supplied all my special requests free of charge. All of the staff I met were super friendly and the front desk took care of our literal every need. Not exactly the greatest location but that was completely made up for by insanely great service. Ask them for a cheesecake

I'll start with the good, most of the people I interacted with were friendly, and the bed linens were clean and comfortable. There was also a decently sized desk in the room. The bad: carpets were not only worn and stained, especially in the hallway, it seemed like they are never cleaned. Of the three lamps in my room two seemed to have loose electrical connections inside of them, as they would come on and off with slight movement. The heating and cooling unit was very old and more importantly looked like it is never cleaned. Some fixtures in the bathroom were rusted. The dresser had a broken handle and would fall open. The shower would not engage, therefore was not operable. There were two cords that were overloaded with plugs and looked like a fire hazzard. The window latch was broken. The walls were very thin and there was a small hole in the wall with some stains too. If I'd paid $40 I'd be satisfied. I did not pay $40.

Blow dryer wasn’t available in “economy” rooms! Shuttle from airport was broken and wouldn’t have found out if I hadn’t called to confirm it! Had to take public transit!

まず部屋にドライヤーが無い。 2年前に泊まった時はさほど悪い印象かなかったので今回も泊まることにしたが違うホテルかと思うほど。 チェックINの時もスタッフは終始一人だから全然進まない、まぁこれはお国柄なのか仕方ないにしても時間がかかりすぎ。 部屋のヒーターが壊れていて動かずフロントに行くがスタッフは一人だから当然申告をするまでにまたまた時間がかかる。 Wi-Fiも全然使えない。 ヒーターはその後直しに来てもらったが5分もたたないうちにまた壊れて、またフロントに行ったが次は来もしなかった。 アンカレッジのダウンタウンにしては安くて立地も良いのはいいがもう二度と泊まらない。

This is more hostel then hotel, it is in a not great area of town and is very old/used. The common areas were old/worn/dirty, the hotel spans an entire block so it was a LONG walk to the room over thick textured carpeting (not good for rolling suitcases), and none of the external entrance doors worked with my keycard. The room linens were clean, the carpeting was dirty, and the walls were patched and the bathrooms needs updating.

Do to the time period when the hotel was originally built the walkways are long, but this gives guests on the south facing side a great view of historic 4th avenue and during late February and early March every year a chance to see the Iditarod Sled Dog Race and the Fur Rondy festival without being outside in the cold.

It was close to downtown activities and restaurants. There were homeless people sleeping outside our room and two sleeping during the day in the 2nd floor lounge. One morning they had a breakfast buffet that was good. Then on Saturday when we had a flight to catch they were taking individual orders. Took longer and was cold.

Ok stay.
It was ok. Had a bed, shower and toilet. But I found some bugs, and their internet was not working for Thebes three days we were there. Also, the continental breakfast was really lack luster. There was maybe some instant oatmeal packs and apples. Not worth it if you’re thinking about eating breakfast there. Service was fine though!

Poor service from kitchen staff. Gave us a menu but only one or two items available.

Desastroso
Positivo: buena ubicación Muy amables las personas que estaban en recepción, fácil check in y check out, ningún problema para dejar las maletas en custodia. Negativo: El hotel está en mal estado, pintura descascarada y al llegar a la habitación había pésimo olor, como a humedad, tuvimos que abrir las ventanas para ventilar Ofrecen desayuno incluido y después de esperar 45 minutos ( no estoy exagerando) nos dicen que solo nos pueden dar huevos con tocino porque no tienen nada más ni siquiera un pedazo de pan Ofrecen transfer al aeropuerto ( de pago) y cuando lo pedimos nos dijeron que solo funciona hasta las 2:30 pm Se supone que hay internet, pero no funcionaba ni siquiera en recepción mucho menos en las habitaciones Conclusión: solo ir si no hay nada más disponible
