Aquaventure showing rides and a pool
This enormous water park is one of the largest in the world. You’ll find something for everyone in the family within its 11 pools and 18 waterslides.

When Paradise Island’s largest resort, Atlantis, began its expansion in 2007, it included one of the largest water parks in the world: Aquaventure. It features more than 20 swimming areas spread across 11 different pools. The park is family friendly, with special pools for toddlers, but also caters to an adult market with waterside DJs, gaming and bars. Waterslides are scattered throughout the park.  Enjoy the special experience of swimming alongside the local marine life in many of the pools.

Families with young children will appreciate the 81 lifeguard stations scattered throughout the park. Coupled with three shallow children’s pools and the family-friendly “grotto,” the facility helps parents relax in the knowledge that their children will be safe and entertained all day. For older children and the young at heart, Aquaventure’s range of waterslides will be a favorite. Plunge 60 feet (18 meters) and then slide within a clear tunnel through a shark-filled lagoon from the near-vertical Leap of Faith slide. Find a friend to race on the Challenger slides. Ride alongside another friend in a rubber tube on the Serpent Slide or the Falls or travel through caves and under trees on the Jungle Slide.

Soak up some sun with a drink in your hand at the multilevel adult-only swimming pool. Top DJs provide the soundtrack for a day of relaxation, while expert bartenders and chefs prepare their treats for you poolside. Grab a tube to float along the “lazy river” that runs throughout the park, one of the best ways to move between the pools. Follow it all the way to the Dolphin Cay for a close encounter with the playful mammals.

Aquaventure is located on Paradise Island, which is just offshore from the capital city of Nassau. Ferries serve the island and taxis from the city center are affordable and easy to find. There is some on-site parking at Atlantis resort for customers. Admission to Aquaventure is free for Atlantis guests non-resort guests can purchase day passes online. The resort is open daily.

Kids under 48 inches can’t go on most of the rides which was disappointing. But there were some hidden slides throughout that they could go down.

Like many others have probably said, get there as soon as you can to reserve your spot. Get a daily schedule from an activities desk to know when feedings and other special events occur .
