I wish we were still able to offer breakfast service but that went away when Covid hit - very sad, to say the least. The good news is that there are so many awesome local restaurants in walking distance to the inn, that there is definitely something for everyone! Thank you so much for your review of your stay at Sparrow Hill Inn. Our goal is to provide a pleasant experience and make sure our guests are taken care of when they stay. When we first spoke a few days prior to your arrival, you seemed quite upset and let me know your issue regarding no breakfast, and I totally understood. No one appreciates unmet expectations. As per our conversation, I explained that we adjusted our price per night and stopped serving breakfast at the inn during the pandemic but still provide coffee/tea service in each suite as well as snacks and drinks in the hospitality area. I also shared the fact that we have always been an automated property since our inception - all guests are provided a code to enter the building and their suite. Sometimes we are present when guests arrive but other times we are not, depending on several different factors. We do make a point to be at the inn and help those who need assistance getting to their suite. Since you still seemed very upset by the end of our conversation, I immediately let you know that if you wanted to cancel, I would not charge any cancellation fee and all your money that you paid Hotels.com would be refunded, but you would have to call them to obtain the refund, since they hold the actual booking. We haven't charged any cancellation fees since the pandemic started - no matter what the reason. I assumed that was what you would have done but instead you chose to be our guest anyway and we are glad you did! We are so thankful for all our guests! Thank you for letting me know that certain search engines still have old information showing - I've tried personally to get everything corrected but some things are out of my reach, including search engine results. We do have photos on our website and other places that show a tray on food on a bed in a suite, but that was just for marketing our suites, not showing services. Our guests are always welcome to bring food into the inn to enhance their stay. We also have pictures of our dining room set for a rehearsal dinner, which is a common occurrence for us - all those events use outside catering, so that's why we keep those on our website to promote our events side of the business. We hope to have our sign in front of the inn reworked in the very near future. Thank you for bringing that to our attention. Thanks again for staying with us and we hope to have you back soon.
