Ayrshire’s very own: “...Hidden Gem Grand Manor House Hotel - Class Wedding Venue”. This outstanding decent quality hotel is located right beside Glasgow Prestwick International Airport. Within this beautiful 19.5 acre country escape, a stunning country setting perfect for all budgets. And very close indeed to Ayr High Street’s full attractions, for example the Gaiety Theatre. Most notably though, I actually paid less than forty two pounds for a January 2024 1 night stay, which was incredible ‘off season’ value. I found plenty of space for parking in this disabled/pet friendly hotel. As a disabled patron myself, and of course very conveniently. Moreover, the Adamton was a truly amazing hotel experience, this grand old Britannia Group hotel remains one of Scotland's: “...Hidden Gems”. Which I had the privilege of being a returning guest at this quiet country escape (well nestled away from the ‘rat race’, but very close to the major trunk road A77). Set among well kept 19.5 acre mature gardens. Attractive ancient stonework with ample picnic benches on the well kept outdoor leisure space, mostly laid to an impressive striped lawn in the summer. The outdoor leisure areas consisted of two floodlit full size tennis courts. Complete with a general outdoor sports area for the likes of five a side style football and basketball practice area. In the main dining area, I found a varied menu to suit most palates.The large bright, spacious garden restaurant had a welcoming feel.

Reasonable value for the price. However, the hotel clearly functions for coach parties. On our 2nd morning, with the coach groups having departed the day before, we came down to breakfast to find no staff around and no hot food. A member of staff came in to get themselves some toast, and on asking them about hot food they said they'd been told to offer a continental breakfast only, as there weren't many guests. We had paid £10 each for a 'full breakfast'. It was pretty astonishing, to do that with no communication with guests in advance. On complaining at reception, they did refund us the £20 we'd paid for breakfast. But it didn't make us feel very valued as guests.

Don't believe the pictures
Don't believe the pretty pictures on the website. Accommodation is a delapidated student dorm. Bed was terrible, black mold in shower/bath. Woke up to find guests in neighbouring room were complaining to reception that their ceiling had fallen down during the night.... beware! I regularly head up to Prestwick, but never staying there again!

Staff on reception were very unwelcoming. Rooms tired. Evening meal very poor. Needs refurbishment.

Ok stay
On this visit I had a room that had a walk in shower usually it is one over a bath. Only problem I had was people standing outside my room at the reception smoking and chatting

Not worth the money.
No free WiFi - hotel customers shouldn't have to pay for WiFi in this day and age. Unable to use mobile data, no reception. Cobwebs around room light and ceiling. No bedside lamps. Rubbish TV, no external source sockets for USB. Remote works but unable to use many functions including electronic programme guide. No bath slip mat. No bath floor mat bath. Bath panel tatty, flaking and dirty. Bath surround sealant has black mould fungus. Shower head filthy. Shower hose filthy with black mould. Soap dish scummy and not cleaned from last guest. Lino lifting from the floor ( harbouring spiders!!!). Sink shelf at angle and stuff slides off. No towel rails. Owner and cleaners clearly don't care.

Average hotel that served a purpose for somewhere to stay before an early flight. Dated rooms and decor throughout. Wouldn’t stay again as it was too far from anywhere and not any decent food offering.

First class service
Used the hotel before flying from Prestwick. Everybody was very helpful . Also they went out of their way when I left something behind in the hotel. Absolutely first class service and good breakfast too Very handy if flying from Prestwick. Couldn’t recommend highly enough

The hotel was adequate for the price, and we could put up with the mould along the bath grout. However, the whole experience was made worse by our subsequently receiving a parking charge notice because we hadn't registered our vehicle number at reception. In every other hotel where this has been necessary, the reception staff have drawn our attention to it. Not here! The receptionist should bring this up as a matter of routine. There was no notice in the booking information, the signage is not sufficiently prominent, and we have appealed against the charge, but it is a source of anxiety and a waste of our time. Not good!

Great Destination in Scotland
Adamton country House is a great holidays destination obvious reasons. The nerve calming effect of the hotel environment, the cleanliness of the rooms, friendly staff who are willing to help. The breakfast was quite good. The fact you can seat out in from in garden like natural environment to have a drink i exceptionally good and homely. Great place to be when you want to be at home but away from home

lovely building, getting a bit run down, lack of staff , and information of services, but at the reasonable price charged it is excellent value if you are not over fussy about a few things !

Britannia hotels NEVER again
Sad to say 2nd time we have stayed in a Britannia hotel and second time the cleanliness has been an issue. Had to get someone up to clean our toilet bowl as previous guests had left their "mark" on the sides(no toilet brush so didnt even get the chance to do it ourselves, should not have to though). Young girl on reception came and cleaned it herself. Shower curtain was dirty and the windows have had a wash in a very long time. We didnt go to the bar but it is clearly where reception should be therefore is tiny. Trying to find the hotel was a bit of a task using the postcode they give we were lead to several different places before stumbling across the hotel. Very fly move not having fones in the rooms you then have the choice of going thru the rabbit warren of corriders trying to find reception again or you can telephone their national prime number from your mobile. The original house grand staircase is beautiful. Safe to say i will be staying clear of Britannia in future.

Stains on the walls in public areas, every thing is worn. £7.00 for internet access. Dirt and grime everywhere. Feel sorry for the staff having to cope. Ancient en suite. Book a Premier Inn instead.

After travelling from Doncaster went to hotel to be told they have no record of our booking for 3 nights. and were told the hotel was fully booked. Receptionist refused to help us was very arrogant. and to take it up with our website. we eventually found a hotel ourselves very late that night.

Gentleman at front desk very helpfull and pleasent,get what you pay for very dated and noisy ,old doors banging all morning all over you wont be sleeping after 6am.
