A perfect place to enjoy Florence
I could not decide whether to stay at St Regis hotel right by the river or this hotel. However, after a week in a busy area in Milan, i chose villa La Massa, and it was an excellent choice. This is what I dreamt of when I thought of Italy. Staffs were excellent and the restaurant was awesome. Only 15 minutes away from the busy center of Florence

Great restaurant, awesome service in the restaurant and overall. Hotel is dated, pool cold and not heated. Suggested management invests into a pool heater so kids can enjoy the pool cause water was freezing. Rooms need updating badly. In room only tub, no shower. Remote quite area outside the city, tranquil and peaceful. Very relaxed atmosphere. Again, restaurant staff incredible, gourmet menu, great breakfast. Will definitely return but without kids. Highly recommend.

By far, the best hotel I've ever stayed at. The entire grounds, rooms, and staff were beyond what one could imagine. This hotel deserves its own rating as I really don't believe 5 stars describes it well. Location to Florence was a bonus but it was really hard to put the energy together to leave this hotel. The staff treat you like family and go above and beyond what i have experienced in other 5 star hotels. The only bad part was leaving.

El peor servicio en un restaurante que he tenido.
Es realmente decepcionante que un hotel con una infraestructura fantástica y una locación de película, tenga una atención y servicio tan pibes en su restaurante. Los meseros fueron absolutamente desatentos: la botella de vino que compré nunca fue servida en copa, los platos una vez finalizados nunca fueron retirados de la mesa y la cuenta tuve pararme y desplazarme hasta la caja para poder tenerla. Parece mentira que un lugar como este arruine la experiencia de viaje con un equipo tan desatento y pobre en servicio en su restaurante.

Amazing grounds, but lacking
Gorgeous property and amazing staff. However, be advised that the ACs don’t cool the rooms below 78-79 degrees Fahrenheit. Breakfast was okay but the view from the dining room was breathtaking. Dinner was a huge disappointment, trying to be too fancy and forgot about flavor and that they are in Italy. The grounds are immaculate and the staff, though very understaffed, were very attentive. Tamara did the best she could to accommodate us. I would not recommend this place in the summer, maybe fall or spring. And don’t waste your time or money in the restaurant, go in to Florence where there are many great restaurants

The villa is dreamy. I wished we could have tried the spa but there were so many places to see we never had the time. I would comment that the bar prices and the restaurant prices were extremely high. We never ate dinner at the restaurant. We ate at restaurants in the area instead. I have to say in nearly three weeks of traveling in Italy and staying at different levels of luxury, la Massa had the least impressive scrambled eggs, which I thought odd for such a lovely hotel. And because of its location by the Arno river rehabs, the mosquitos in October were not welcome guests in our room...and they don’t use screens!i wish I had brought some of my insect repellent impregnated clothes that I had just used in Africa the month before. That aside, I would love to return to La Massa and just chill....

Best of all worlds
Excellent intimate hotel within 15 mins of the city and vineyards of Tuscany; the staff are extremely personable and really take care. We are clients of their sister hotel Villa d’Este in Como and would highly recommend Villa la Massa as well; feels like its your own home; we have already booked to return with friends.

Un très bel endroit au bord de l'Arno, tellement idyllique, loin des tumultes de la ville. Le service shuttle pour aller au centre de Florence est très efficace ( toutes les heures ). Nous avions passé un excellent week-end. Le personnel est très serviable et accueillant. Nous reviendrons.

Magnificent!!
My wife and I spent part of our honeymoon at this magnificent hotel. The attention from the moment we walked into the property was beyond spectacular. The staff is extremely helpful, kind, caring, and beyond attentive. We had breakfast every morning at their beautiful restaurant which overlooks the Arno river and the food is so delicious. We also had an exquisite dinner on Saturday evening with exceptional service and attention. There is nothing bad we can say about this beautiful property and their staff. The reception desk, the wait staff at the restaurant, and management are all passionate about making sure every single guest leaves wanting to come back. To say the least, we did not want to leave and will be sure to come back soon.

One of the nicest places I've ever stayed
The pictures don't do this hotel justice, it is so fabulous, straight out of a movie. Built in the 1500's by a cardinal, this hotel is reminiscent of a countryside castle, but scaled down, and very tasteful. Classical music plays throughout the lobby, bar and restaurant. I will never forget how fabulous this hotel was, and how fabulous they treated us. Bravo!

Your Tuscan villa on the outskirts of Florence
We loved our stay here and wished it was longer. It is everything you imagine it to be. We had a gorgeous suite with more room than we needed and two patios -- either of which would have been wonderful. The service is friendly and personal. The buildings and grounds are gorgeous, you feel like an aristocrat just being there. The pool is good sized and deep and refreshing. The restaurant is first rate and the setting -- a balcony overlooking the river -- is charming. The breakfast selections are generous and delicious, not to be missed. It's about a 20 minute drive from town, not bad at all except when it's raining, in which case the taxis in Florence disappear. Hiring a car is much more expensive -- 90 or 100 Euros versus about 45 -- but worth it on the way in if you have to make a train, especially during commuting times. It's also a great jumping off point for touring Tuscany. Loved this place.

INCREDIBLE!
Fantastic location, beautiful property and stunning views. The staff went above and beyond to make sure every aspect of our trip was perfect - they also booked a wonderful private vineyard tour which was spectacular! The food and rooms were also lovely, we really never wanted to leave. This is the place to stay in Florence - it is peaceful, timeless and I would highly recommend.

Perfect Firenze Weekend
Villa la Massa was a perfect stay for a long weekend - within 20 mins of both Firenze and the outlets with beautiful grounds and pool in the case of good weather. We are frequent guests at their sister hotel Villa d'Este in Como and expect The staff was incredibly accommodating and very friendly - Louisa and Paolo really go out of their way to make it perfect for you and Lorenzo makes an excellent cappuccino to start the day. The kitchen was very good and the chef was able to make spaghetti aglio olio on request as it was one of my nonna's specialties. We are already planning our next visit

Ein wunderbarer Rückzugsort...
... der keine Wünsche offenließ, außer vielleicht den nach etwas normaleren Preisen im hoteleigenen Restaurant. Ein Stückchen Kuchen für 15 Euro oder ein Espresso für acht ist dann doch übertrieben bei allem Komfort, dem tollen Service und der angenehm großzügigen Anlage des Hotels, die man ansonsten nur feiern kann.

Friendly staff beautifull property
The staff is very helpful. Free shuttle to the city is very nice and convenient. The property is very pretty. Lush landscaped views, the river the hotel. All very nice. They have a spa we didnt get a chance to use. But we took a peek and they had a jacuzzi hot showers and cold showers w/ice, gym etc. we enjoyed our short stay here. Wish we had booked the entire trip in this one place.also there is horse riding available to be booked through the hotel. We loved it, and only $45 an hr!! We got a picture perfect view of florence we would have never seen, while on the trail. Definately a must.the breakfast buffet in the morning was well over what was expected. Very delightful. Meat & cheese spreads cereal fruits eggs bacon sausage etc. drinks coffee. I want to go back already

Not Suitable For Florence Weekend Break
Basically let down by shuttle service and we came to the conclusion that this place, nice though it is, is just to far out of town to be suitable as a hotel for a Florence city break.

Villa La Massa
Excellent location facilities and staff. Without a doubt we would recommend Villa La Massa to anyone going to Florence and the Tuscany area.

Villa la Massa
This property is one of our all time favorites now! The room was huge, separate dressing area with a view as well as a view over the Arno from the bathroom. The bed linens were really that . . real linen! Something I've seen rarely in the last years. The staff could not have been more helpful. The shuttle service to Florence was also really nice. It is a place which is dignified and beautiful without the gilded palace atmosphere. It truly deserves all 5 of it's stars. We would love to live there!!!
