two nights in chic and born
It was really great trip to Barcelona with Chic and born basic. It is located great sight. Room is fit for young couples, not elders (it is hard to find way to go in or out) But has terrific interior. However, structure is old, so some maintenances seem to be needed (hot water especially) When I ask to change hair dryer, staff kindly bought a new one to change. It was so impressive! Thank you so much

Interesting design choices, good service, only trouble was the shower that did not drain properly and is in the middle of the triple room.

Die unterkunft war schön ,eine kühlung für getränke fehlte. Leider sprachen die mitarbeiter an der Reopzeption kein deutsch obwohl es in der beschreibung drin stand . Ansonsten war der aufenthalt sehr angenehm alles zu fuß gut erreichbar einkaufsmöglichkeiten direkt um die ecke kaffee immer verfügbar .

The position was great, easy walk to most things and close to transport. The hotel was ok. Considering the cost of the shoulder season room, there could have been more amenities. As a solo traveler, the room size was fine, would have been a struggle with 2 people. The AC is not controllable in the room as it a central cooling/heating system so I had to ask for an extra doona as my room was freezing. There is no safe or fridge in the room, which is disappointing. You can access a safe in reception but that’s quite inconvenient. No fridge meant I couldn’t buy any snacks that needed refrigeration. The room doors need to be adjusted as they slam when closing. I found it very annoying to have doors banging at all hours of the night. The room cleaner was excellent. The coffee/tea break out area was also good. Would I stay there again? Probably not, I’d shop around first.

If you like funky, this hotel is for you. The location can’t be beat, in the thick of the historic district of Barcelona. Food, food and more food choices literally at the hotel’s doorstep. Their breakfast offering was just a notch above basic, with scrambled eggs and bacon in addition to the usual cold offerings. Their small patio offers cold drinks after a hot day sightseeing. Beware, as their Sangria packs a punch! Friendly, helpful staff. Would recommend wholeheartedly. Pedro Canada

Great location! Walking distance to a lot of attractions, restaurants and stores. The room lay out is a little odd but workable. Would recommend this hotel.

Good stay
It was a good short break hotel. The communal areas were an added bonus. We would have liked a refrigerator in our room and the toilet and shower arrangement quirky/odd. Staff were very friendly. The rope curtains outside each room were fun to look at, but not practical.

Very friendly staff. Had problem with shower drain and they fixed it on the second day. Location is convenient and hip, but also a little grungy and not particularly quiet. Did not have breakfast but looked very nice (recommend Picnic restairant right nearby). Really nice to have water refill, tea, etc. in common area. Not a fan of the design - hanging plastic rope curtains in hallways and the rooms - would be much nicer if those were removed and could see more of the beautiful old building and have a clear hallway. Also the creative design of glass showers in the middle of the room may not appeal to all, but if you are into the unusual, may be just right for you.

The service at arrival was fantastic! Very nice woman met us. Luggage was stored, she called us when the room was ready, filled my water bottle, got good instructions about travelling by bus ++

Staff was very kind and the property feels very safe. They provided a birthday treat on arrival. The hallways smell like intense sewage and there was very loud construction noise each morning in adjacent rooms. The room layout is uncomfortable.

Sijainti oli oikein hyvä, kaikki keskustan nähtävyydet oli kävelyetäisyydellä. Henkilökunta oli ystävällistä. Huoneen kunto, käytännöllisyys ja siisteys eivät vastanneet odotuksia. Tavaroille ei ollut tilaa tai paikkaa minne niitä laittaa, siivous oli huonoa, vessapaperia ja suihkusaippuaa sai kysellä. Huone oli epäkäytännöllinen, monin tavoin. Kuvat antoivat odottaa parempaa. Ilmastointi oli ensin jääkylmällä, tämä korjaantui, mutta sen jälkeen ilmastointi toimi vain kuumalla (n. 30c). Aamupala oli hyvin vaatimaton. Emme yleensä valita mistään mutta tämä oli pettymys.

Non adatto a famiglie
L'albergo non è adatto secondo me a viaggi in famiglia. Non sono camere adatte da condividere con ragazzi o bambini dal momento che hanno il bagno in camera letteralmente con la doccia a vista che si vede dal proprio letto. Alla nostra richiesta di poter cambiare stanza ci è stato detto che tutte le camere sono così. È di sicuro più adatto a una coppia. Inoltre non si potevano aprire finestre mancava aria e luce.

Hotellet ligger sentralt i Barcelona, og prisen er god i forhold til beliggenheten. Romløsningen vil ikke passe for alle. Rommet er lite og trangt, med mange små kroker, trappetrinn ned til bad og inn igjen på toalett. Det er også en litt merkelig lukt i rommet, innestengt og fuktig. Veggene virker tynne og det er veldig lytt mellom rommene og ut i gangen, så anbefales ikke hvis man er sensitiv på lyder. Helt ok for korte opphold.

Städningen var så där. Handdukar och badlakan byttes inte ut. Fick inga nya och fick säga till. Torkade inte av ytor, tvättfat och kram samt väggarna i toaletten och på vissa väggar var solkiga redan när vi anlände första dagen. Dåligt med plats för kläder och för resväskorna. De fick läggas på golv vid säng och tvättfat så man blev tvungen att kliva över dem. Däremot bra service och trevlig personal.

This hotel is good for one night or 2. What we liked was the location, close to metro (7 min walk), restaurants, bars. 20 min walk to nearest beach. Plenty of taxis available. Room wise - the matrass is firm and comfortable, pillows are awefull. 1 electricity socket not secure in the wall and exposing wiring, very dangerous; staff said the maintenance guy will repair but never did. Storage is very limited, just a rack with 5 hangers for your clothes. if you have 2 large suitcases it makes room very cramped; no rail for towels to dry; The room has no coffee maker or kettle; A shared area has a coffee machine, water, fridge, microwave. The coffee is really good Shower is spacious but has only fixed shower head only showerdoor doesn't close properly so water goes everywhere. The neighbourhood seems nice and safe but it's not; we got robbed on the mainstreet near the hotel and ended up in hospital. Be aware in Barcelone

"Chic and Basic" is a very accurate description. Prime location in the Born, surrounded by countless boutiques and restaurants and bars, close to the subway, lots of taxis and rental bicycles available. The rooms are redesigned to photograph well, with mirror walls and a dramatic cylindrical glass shower separating the bedroom from bath area. Bed was comfy, AC worked well in the hot/humid climate. Basic, though - no desk or workspace, no closet but a skeleton rack for hanging clothes, only 2 plate-sized shelves and no countertop or drawers in the bathroom. This meant leaving suitcases, backpacks, toiletry kits etc. all over the floor, which had stained and loose tiles in the bathroom area. 6 towels/handcloths, 2 tiny hooks. A common room down the hallway provided filtered water, coffee, and ice, but the coffee machine and ice maker were not always operational.

The hotel is weird. It’s supposed to be creative and inventive. There are funny little sayings on the walls, the package the soap is in, and the like. There is a curtain made ol beads in front of each room and, for some reason, in the middle of the room between the bed and the WC. The basic idea of the hotel is quite traditional, however. Take a beautiful old building and divide it into as many small rooms as you can, to maximize your profits when you rent them out. The hotel room is ridiculously tiny, with barely enough room to open your suitcase and put it on the floor, leaving no room to walk about, no chair, no couch, and no clever compartments to put things away. Plus, the wi-fi in our room did not work. The manager gave us a discount, which was fair, but wi-fi would have been better. The staff is very nice and friendly and the neighborhood is great. But I would not stay in the small room again

La chambre n’est pas dutout ergonomique donc pas facile à vivre. Porte d’entrée à moutier bloquée et mal isolée phoniquement, interrupteurs et prises électriques cachés, clim soufflant dans la douche donc peux efficace dans la chambre, impossible de faire le noir pour dormir car stores mal fichus. Bref tout pour un design original et rien pour l’ergonomie et le confort utilisateur.

Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were spacious for Europe standards. The only negative was room Decoration were a bit strange.
