I understand your comment about the heat but we find that keeping the windows closed and curtains drawn is the best answer to minimising the heat in the rooms. The listed building status prevents us air conditioning many of the rooms and I can but apologise for the fact that the fans had not been returned after they had been taken out for servicing that morning.

Coming from Australia I too was confused by that Elaine. UK king is indeed queen in a lot of other places. Apologies that we did not make clear that there is no daily servicing for stays less than 7 days.
