Dear Sir/Madame,We are very disappointed to see the rating you have provided and the comments regarding your stay. We very much pride ourselves on offering a fantastic experience to our guests and take very seriously when this does not happen.It is industry practice to Housekeeping teams to knock on the door before entering, either during a day time servicing or during the evening turndown. Unfortunately it is not always possible to know if guests are in or out of bedrooms, hence the knocking.I am sorry that you were not asked during check-out if everything was ok with your stay. This is a minimum standard that we expect from our team and we will be following this up with the team.

Thank you very much for your review Philippa although I am disappointed to read that your stay was not to the standard we would have hoped for. We understand that the communal coffee machines may not be to everyone's preference but believe they offer a much better product than other coffee options. We are also happy to relocate guests to a suitable room wherever possible should they not be completely satisfied with their allocated room. We understand that not everyone likes to mention these issues during their stay but I would strongly recommend it to give the hotel an opportunity to rectify the issues.

Thank you very much for your review Iain. I am delighted that you enjoyed many aspects of your stay but am sorry to hear the room was only adequate. We continue to invest in the property wherever possible and have installed air-conditioning into our top room floors this year. The discretionary service charge remains completely discretionary and we prefer to deliver the bills prior to departure so these can be double checked in private.
