Room was some what dirty. No face plates on electric outlet behind bed. Had to wipe off bathroom counter. Cigarette burns on bed spread.

Badly in need of new pillows!
Looks like they are trying to improve the building, but I would rather sleep on a clean pillow. Ours were covered in stains and smelled like a gym locker. Our room was next to the highway, so noise was an issue. The room was warm and comfortable, but the bathroom floor was sticky. People were nice. Trucker's bar was a fun place to watch football. Hard to find the place in the dark, poor signage. Great continental breakfast. Good coffee.

The hotel is adequate for its purpose
The hotel room served its purpose - an overnight stay at a cross-roads point for travelers with a long journey ahead of them. The room was a little small but it was clean. And the hotel was quiet.

Hotel appearance, inside and out.
Overall appearance from the outside was not all that good, several areas were in bad need of painting. The lobby was not very appealing. Also the breakfast area was not very clean or well stocked.

Literal flea bag motel
Everything looked clean enough, but a couple days later I realized I had been bit many times by fleas... at leat that is what the bites look like. They better hope I didn't bring any home. I know it's on the cheaper side, but I've stayed at much cheaper hotels and never have I ever dealt with something this disgusting.

Hotel needs updating!!
We did not plan ahead and booked while driving into Breezewood...would not have stayed if we had just walked in. Very outdated. The water coming out of bathroom faucet was black - no lie. we could not brush teeth or shower. Went to bar for a drink and they were the most confused staff while just trying to get a beer for us. Did not know how to turn on the television, had no ice, and stood and stared at us. We did not even try the breakfast....Only up side is that it is in a great place to stop while traveling and cheap. The strip in Breezewood has everything for an overnight stop.

Horrible place!
Horrible place, do not stay here. The entire place smelled, especially the room. There was no ice in the ice machine.

Would not recommend.
Gross! No mattress pad covers, just thin white sheet and white comforter, all with stains on them. It gave us the heeby-jeebies. The rest of the room wasn't that bad I guess. Overpriced for the quality.

Dirty sheets
The room was dirty, the sheets were covered with black specks. The guy covering the desk came and changed the sheets, but the room looked like it had not be given a good cleaning in quite some time.

the bed was comfortable, the best part. lobby was shabby and doorways in and out. dumpy looking. breakfast was okay, the lady taking care of that area very pleasant.. place needs fixed up.

Quick night's sleep
Front desk personnel was super. We were on a bicycle road trip and needed 4 hours sleep and the Econolodge was the only hotel with rooms available at a price that was warranted for 4 hours sleep. The water out of the bathtub was orange at first. The hot water knob had to be turned forever to get the hot water to come out. However we were able to take hot showers. I asked for the hotel clerk to hold some bicycle equipment that I would pick up on the way back through Breezewood. The front desk clerk was quite helpful. I'd stay again under the same conditions - quick night sleep on a drive through.

Would not stay here again
Carpet was damp starting from outside wall and in about three feet. Mattress was very uncomfortable. There was very little water pressure when we checked in that evening and when you first turned on the hot water it came out brown. The next morning there wasn't even enough water pressure to flush the toilet. the continental breakfast was ok but not much to choose from. I will not be staying here again.

Don't touch the water!
Once Iflushed the toilet, the water remained dark red black. No matter how many times I flushed (there was nothing I did to turn it that way). I don't know if it was mold or what, but it was disgusting. I heard another guest complaining too. But the place was creepy, and I was alone and it was late at night, so I just hunkered down till first thing in the a.m. when I went to Starbucks to brush my teeth on the way out of town. BTW, I travel a lot, to include in the third world, and lived at an Army base in Iraq for 10 mos without running water. I'm not faint of heart, but this place was disgusting and creepy, and a total waste of money. There were also discrepancies between the price and type of room I booked, but that resulted in a few extra dollars, so wasn't such a big deal like the rancid water.

Perfect for a quick stay
This motel is close to I-70 and the PA Turnpike. The price is extremely reasonable. The staff are very friendly. Please noted that the previous reviews are not very recent. They have refurbished the rooms, and they are clean and comfortable. The downsides are that Breezewood exists for almost no other reason than as the intersection of I-70 and the PA Turnpike. There are mostly fast-food and truck stop restaurants nearby. The other downside is that they really need to upgrade the lobby/front-desk area. It's seediness is pretty off-putting as the first "face" presented to the guest.

The clerk kept referring to me with another name then wanted me to pay after they were told it was already paid for through Hotel.com. I'm not sure if they were trying to scam me or not.

OK Place for an overnight stay
I needed a place to stay during a trip and this hotel was convenient and affordable. The comfort level was fine. It was convenient to have a restaurant nearby although my meal was not the best and the loud revelers kept me up at night.

Absolutely Disgusting!!
This hotel is by far the nastiest one I've stayed in!! The room was filthy. The pillow cases and sheets were stained. The room smelled of mold and mildew. When I turned on the bathtub faucet, the water was rusty brown. It took several minutes to clear up but I never used the shower!! This was the only hotel in Breezewood that I could find that allowed pets. Never again!!! Econolodge should pull their franchise from this hotel owner.

Nice hotel, close to abandoned turnpike
the bathroom was pretty small, but if that is my only complaint then it must have been good. Hillary at the front desk was excellent. she answered all of our questions, and if we needed anything she was there.

Would not book again
Hmm, where to begin. This was the only hotel that was available for our one night stay. The hotel is an older property and there was a definite odor entering the hotel, it smelled stale and old and the hallway was very cold. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, but the bathroom ceiling over the bathtub and shower was peeling and there was black mold in the corners. Because it was a cold night we turned on the heater and it worked well and was quiet during through the night. The location was OK but skipped the free breakfast for a full breakfast at a restaurant down the street.

Nice & Clean - needs new beds!
You can tell the hotel is older, but they maintain it well. The staff was very helpful and courteous. My only complaint is the beds. My husband and I woke up very sore from the dated (and I mean dated) mattresses.

No star hotel
I dont know where to start. Sheets were not clean . Mattresses were very old and not even covered by sheets properly. When we asked for extra sheets they gave mattress slip covers which are not clean . Smoke alarm goes off all the time. None of the lamps work on the room and none of the outlets work for us to charge our phones exceptin the bathroom . We will not go there again ever. Expedia should not suggest this hotel to any one. Our room is filled with junk yard furniture and not even one table lamp that work. We were just waiting to get out once the sun comes out !!!

Awful hotel!!
Just walking into the hotel gave me cause for concern. It was filthy. The room smelled & sheets & pillows had musty odor & had grease stains on them! We left & went to another hotel across the street that was clean!!! Lots of young boys hanging around the premises too! Desk clerk had tattoos all over her arms & no uniform.

Overall a unique but good experience!
First let me start off with the good. Denise the GM was very nice. Bob the owner wears many hats but somehow he makes it all work! The wings and french fries at the on premise restaurant were terrific! And the beer good & cold! The service and attitude were great! If you are a stickler for ultra-clean this place may not be for you. But if you can handle a few cobb webs & lint, the rooms are comfortable, reasonably clean, and overall adequate. Apparently the pool & hot tub could've used a touch more chemical. The owner and limited staff strive to make for a comfortable stay. I guess that's all you can ask for from a 'budget' hotel! It was considerably less than the comparable local chain hotels, so I guess you get what you pay for.
