Driving up to this place was the beginning of our nightmare but we maintained an open mind as we parked in the hotel's parking lot which also doubled as the CEMETERY parking and sketchy FLEE MARKET.
The front of the hotel looks like its on the beach. That's not exactly true. In fact the only view that all basic rooms (except the 2 that are on the top level) get, is a either the laundry room, or what appears to be a utility room (that's the one we got).
The Expedia pics make it look like you'll be relaxing on a Hammock while watching the sun go down over the beach..Well.. If you get the upgrade, you might get a shared hammock but you'll be overlooking a graffiti'd sign and a few trees.
Inside of the room, we had to kill our pet cockroach but what finally did it for us was the fact that not only was the shower floor slimy, as well as the water faucets themselves, but the water pressure was the lowest we had ever seen.
To put things into perspective, we had travelled all over Belize, from San Pedro, to San Ignacio, to Corozal and more. We had stayed in 4 different hotels and a hut in the Cayo forest. We were not expecting a palace but for double the price of other rooms nearby, this was completely horrible.
Their are many nice places in Placencia and they were all cheaper. We know this because we tried to rent them but at the time, it was Saint Patty's day and everything was booked.
