It took me a while to find the hotel, as the sign was not illuminated and I must confess I didn't believe my sat nav. Only found it once I'd gone miles out of my way and then found it much better signed from the other direction. When I arrived, the car park was very dark and there were hardly any external lights. I waited at reception for quite some time before venturing to the restaurant to find someone. A very efficient and friendly chap, who was most apologetic, said he'd be with me soon.
To his credit, he checked me in very efficiently, and also took my order for room service there and then, which he also delivered a very short while later.
The room itself was spacious and comfortable, although there was quite a bit of noise from the nearby railway line across the other side of the lake. Dinner was very nice though.
Overall, the hotel is now a bit tired and in need of a thorough refurbishment, and they could probably do with a few more staff!
