I recently stayed one night at this lovely, tidy van park on my way to explore and photograph Glen Alice and Glen Davis. I had decided to break a small road trip there, in Lithgow, and at the last minute in a moment of inspiration I found a good accommodation deal.
When I arrived in Lithgow, after a leisurely drive through the mountains, my mind was shocked, blown away, thrown into disbelief. I've been through Lithgow many times as a child and more even as a adult, and its always been raining but this was the first time I had ever seen Lithgow in sun! First time.
But back to the Lithgow Tourist and Van Park. I've stay at quite a number of Van Parks, most are pretty good, especially 'these' days, but this one, this one takes the cake! Simple as that! From the second I opened the door to the little van, which wasn't that little I hasten to add, I could not wipe the smile off my face. The staff had thought this place out. Even a bottle opener was in the draw , a sieve, a colander absolutely everything one could imagine! Small stove/hot plate saucepans, crockery cutlery everything, even a kitchen sink!
Clean good quality tools, everything worked. And the staff, well they were just lovely. I asked if I was the first person to stay in 'my' van, imagining all along it must have been brand new.
"Oh no, that van is coming up to three years old" I was informed. I shall certainly be back to visit again, so - may the sun shine long, and thanks again! .
