I don't know if this hotel is under new management, but it absolutely not a smoke free premise. So do know people will be smoking right outside their rooms. We had an issue with our room, but the manager went above and beyond on taking care of us.

The Hotel Tropiq was a nice little stay. We did have an issue with our room, but it was taken care of pronto!!!! The one thing to be aware of, it seemed like it was a non smoking premise and there were people smoking right outside their rooms.So it's not a smoke free facility, but the nice thing is no smoking in the rooms. It was quiet and quaint.

Old good conditions property. Keep cool with the back yard pool , spa. Value for money.

The property was ok, clean and a pool area in the middle. A small playground which is absolutely unsave and dangerous for children. The family room was on the first look clean, but lots of insects were in the corners and under the beds. The corners were not clean. The bathroom was dirty and disgusting, stinky and everywhere rost ants and dirt. The wall in the sleeping room was wet. We stayed 3 nights and didnt slept during the nights because of noises from neighbours who didnt care about other guests. 2nd night we called the management and luckily somebody came and ended the noise. But the employees seem indifferent, annoyed and not really motivated to ensure a relaxing stay. We cannot recommend this hotel.

I like that it's closer to that end and Esplanade. Walking distance to everything. I didn't like that people staying at the place were inconsiderate to other paying guest. Especially a drunkard ingenious person that screamed insanity words for good hours till he was either taken away or been stopped.

Management are always super friendly & super helpful..they go out of their way to meet any needs/special requests you may have..I love staying here .

I would not stay here even if they paid me. It was like staying in a 1970’s motel NOT a hotel. It felt unsafe and more like a dirty brothel. Behind the bed there were dead cockroaches and what was left of some probably been there awhile. The bed was hard and I don’t mind a hard bed. Thank god it was only for one night.

We felt uncomfortable when checking in. The person checking us in appeared to be grumpy and was not very helful.

Good hotel with bad WiFi.
Nice hotel with good possibilities for cooking and laundry. But the WiFi connection was terrible and the mobile connection is not the best in Trinity Beach.

Hi Kerazhan,We did have an operational bar and restaurant on site back in the early days, sadly it led to a lot of noise and trouble around the hotel, so with new ownership it was decided to leave it idle for the time being.Maybe it will be operational again in the future.

Had to leave motel becase power went out . We had know idea or told when power would come on left the 10.15pm .because to hot too stay.no communications.

Decided to stay close to the airport as cyclone Jasper hit Cairns. We can’t give a full appraisal as we were holed up in our room. The room was clean and the staff helpful and caring.

They have no service at front desk after 4 pm and doesn’t indicate it when we made the reservation. It’s very hard for the visitors from another country if you don’t have telephone service. When we try to move to the other hotel for the reason above, they don’t give us approval and make us pay the two nights we didn’t stay.

Hotel ???? it was just a cheap old Australian Motel, bare floors, walking around bare foot my feet were black with dirt. It was so basic, dreary basic. I will never ever recommend Hotel Tropic Cairns

Nice staff but no way of opening windows without letting mozzies etc in. Not ideal for FNQ. Sliding doors for front room (very stiff to open) facing onto driveway means no privacy unless curtains kept shut.
