Female solo traveler here!!! The hotel is on the 5th floor. It has a great view of the city. I really liked this hotel, I found everything very clean. Location is great, you have the plaza, the museum and a lot of restaurants around it. Staff was very friendly they were very helpful to me since I was traveling by myself. I would definitely recommend it!!

The room is very very small, with almost nothing in it. BUT IT IS VERY COMFORTABLE AND FREE TO MOVE AROUND.

We are disappointed with our experience at City View Hotel. When we arrived at the hotel, they said they were overbooked and didn’t have room for us, even though we had a confirmation from Expedia and had booked our room over a month in advance. That was not a fun thing to hear after a long, tiring day of traveling. We ended up having to walk to another hotel with all of our luggage. There was no warning from them before we got there to check in - they could have at least messaged us so we could have taken our taxi to the other hotel instead of having to walk. Also, the airport shuttle is NOT free, as Expedia advertised. It is 500 LE one way.

Nice hotel for the price. Great for a stop over in Cairo when you spend most the time out sightseeing. All saff was friendly and always willing to help. The cook was a delight to interact with.

Nice and convenient place to stay. Close to Museum. All staff was incredible nice and helpful. Staff was accommodating to our needs and requests. Thanks everybody working there Didn't like the traffic and music noise every night, but was so tired from sightseeing, was able to sleep regardless. Didn't like the daily 2 hour power outs, but that wasn't something the hotel had control over. Overall a good value for the money.

There was no electricity from 3pm to 4pm daily. Hotel is only on 5th floor. If you are going or coming between 3pm to 4 pm then you have use dirty stairs.

Nice place to stay for a budget. Near the museum and the center of Cairo. You can walk everywhere without problem. The room was clean but the noise coming from the street never stops. (Think about this small before booking). The staff was super friendly and helped me out with some recommendations.

Good location. Helpful staff and food prices are very reasonable. Laundry service is excellent. One thing you have to consider when staying in this property is the never ending traffic noise. And don’t forget to ask to make up your room because it’s not automatic. Overall, this is a good property to stay.

To western eyes, this place initially looks shady, but it's actually quite nice. The staff are great, and the room we had was large and clean. The weekend street noise made it very difficult to sleep, but I guess downtown Cairo is like that.

Overall this was a great, budget friendly, hotel. Pick up from the airport was only $15 USD which was reasonable if you didn’t want to deal with taxis. Just make sure to pick up your Vodaphone SIM card at the kiosk at the airport before you leave so you don’t have to wonder around without data looking for one. Very friendly staff and could get you some good deals for day tours. I had a standard room and it did the trick as I really only used it to sleep and store my things. Breakfast was included and is a set menu - a little bit of everything and vegetarian friendly. You’re right in the heart of Tahrir Square and across from the Nile Ritz-Carlton Hotel. I felt very safe walking around and shopping / restaurants were all very walkable. If you’re not adventurous with new foods there are restaurants like McDs and KFC but if you want authentic food like Koshery there are lots of great places. There is an electronic store 6 minutes by foot that takes credit cards if you need to pick up a charging plug or cords. The Egyptian Museum is also across the street. Overall, I definitely recommend staying here.

Excellent séjour

Nous avons passé un agréable séjour, l'hôtel est au centre ville proche de toute commodités, tous les personnels étaient top et très serviables( les agents de l'accueil, les femmes de ménage et les cuisiniers ) propreté rien à dire , un grand merci au chauffeur Ahmed qui nous a accompagné pendant nos sortie vraiment c'est un homme très serviable, à l'écoute et explique bien toute l'histoire de son pays(un grand merci Mr Ahmed) . La seule chose que j'espère que l'hôtel améliore c'est le petit déjeuner qui était toujours pareil. Mais franchement rien à dire c'est excellent. Je veux rajouter qu'effectivement la navette aéroport-hôtel est gratuite. Merci beaucoup à tous les personnels de cet hôtels . À revenir inchalah . Nezha

Walking distance to Egyptian museum and Sadat metro station. Easy to get Taxis as well. Safe ATMs very close.

Good value for 3 star hotel and it it is right downtown. Be perepared for some noise and traffic. Breakfast was very good. Good value.

A REAL FRAUD

The hotel its really old not as seen on the photos , dirty, full of mosquitoes, the breakfast its not a buffet as is anounced, we got in the hotel scam, someone contact us from the hotel offering free ride from the AirPort , that was real, but we reserve tours with them thinking it was a good idea, the tours were OK but expensive, we paid for the tours and also we had to pay for the tickets, in the hotel got for us a sim card more expensive than if we got our selves in a store , they also change money for us for less than in a bank

Very friendly and professional staff. Having a restaurant in the hotel was a plus. Good breakfast and dinner options. My only complaint was the temperature of the food: warm; not hot. I asked them to heat the food. They said they could not.

Great location. Ran down as most of Egypt hotels, not very clean, poor quality breakfast. Overall for 2 guys is OK. Just don't bring there any Western females, it be too rough for them.

お湯がでない。

部屋のお湯が出なくて、お友達の部屋のシャワーを借りた。ドライヤーがなかったので髪の毛は洗えなかった。広い道路沿いなので、車のクラクションや人の声や音楽がうるさくて眠れなかった。近くに飲食店があるから便利な場所。

Hôtel correct

Très bien situé sur la place Tahrir. Petit déjeuner correct sur le balcon. Ne pas se fier à l'entrée de l'hôtel, il faut monter au 5 ème étage pour la réception.

Four nights there. Clean room, great beds, nice staff, good service, safe, fast WIFI, elevator, fair money exchange, very central, therefore a lot of traffic, delicious, sufficient breakfast that is customary in the country, to be recommended for a city trip

The hotel is very well located, close to plenty of dining options, public transportation and shops. The building is run down and the area is very noisy, though. Staff is pleasant and welcoming.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The area around the hotel was very safe, I (a woman) was walking around the neighborhood at night, alone. The pickup at the airport was easy and reliable. I had to leave at 4:30 am to catch my early morning flight. They gave me a wake-up call at 3 am, and brought me a box breakfast at 4:00, with hot coffee! The drove me to the airport at 4:30 am

Old quaint hotel in a great location in the center of town. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Because of the location there is a lot of traffic noise day and night.

The staff at City View Hotel are really friendly and incredibly helpful. When there was a small problem in our room, they did everything they could to sort it out as soon as they could - nothing was too much trouble for them. It's that personal touch that makes a good hotel stand out. And I challenge any other hotel in Cairo to have a balcony with such a brilliant setting - to eat your delicious breakfast with a view over the Egyptian Museum and the buzzing Tahrir Square below is a real treat, every morning.
