Appealing, comfortable room; quiet surroundings; proximity to church and local walks. Very nice breakfast. Enjoyed seeing the stoat and magpies courtesy of our host!

Lovely view but overpriced for what you get
My stay was good in that I slept well and had a beautiful view over the garden to the river. The room was big and comfortable, if dated. I think at a lower price point this would have been fine, but at £120 a night I expected more than nescafe' sachets and tetley tea bags, with no biscuits and a kettle that was tiny and so old it didnt automatically turn off. It felt like being in a Travelodge. The host made no mention of breakfast - maybe they are not serving it due to COVID? I asked if they had any bananas - they didn't. The host was generally a little cold and distant. Overall if you could get this room for £60-£80 I would say go for it, but for £120 I think there must be better alternatives in the surrounding area.

Not a 4 star establishment, really old and unclean rooms. Room was located through a barn door with no lock on it so felt unsafe. Accosted by the owner because she found a teabag on the floor and was made to feel very uncomfortable. Super invasive and unfriendly service , felt like I was a kid staying at a parents house - unusual approach to hospitality. Zero COVID measures exercised. Place is in the middle of nowhere; asked if the host could do my laundry at even if I paid and I was told to find a laundrette even though the rooms are attached to her house and we were mid COVID so most the laundrettes were closed and about 15 miles away. The previous week I stayed at a 5 star Marriott for the same price for 7 nights. Booked here for 4 nights, left on the 3rd to escape somewhere else. Not recommended at all

The room was very comfortable and spacious, the shower was great too which was appreciated. Some of the decor is a little dated but that doesn't stop you from appreciating a great house with a great view down to the river in a beautiful village. The breakfast was cooked well and hit the spot! Would definitely stay again.

This is a unique and interesting location and well run professional B&B. I was working in Peterborough for a week and chose this because it looked interesting. The whole experience was terrific and was boosted by some great weather each evening and I went for some walks to neighbouring villages but always ended back in Fotheringhay and the local pub for dinner. The host was always available and welcoming, breakfast was excellent and the room well above most hotel standards. I would recommend this B&B to anyone visiting the area.

Rural, quiet, beautiful location - perfect
Castle Farm guest house is on the edge of a beautiful village with a great pub, pretty river, impressive church - a rural idyll. Room was clean and had everything I needed.

Cool pub and hotel stay
We stayed one night and had dinner then breakfast the next morning. The food was very good and there were a lot of choices. The room was huge and beautiful - very comfortable and clean. We would love to stay again.

Proper English rural experience
The first thing I should mention is that the bath in my room was enormous and fabulous to get into after a day of walking. (I'd walked 22 miles that day.) The owners of the B and B were charming and brought me proper milk for my tea. They gave me great directions to the local pub (which is renowned for its food) - and, in the morning, information about Fotheringhay's famous castle (where Mary Queen of Scots was beheaded.) It's a beautiful village which is pitch black at night (great for stargazing.) I'd had an accident on my walk towards Fotheringhay which turned nasty in the night. I was so so grateful to the B and B owners who took me to A and E when I was unable to book a taxi. Honestly, I could not rate this beautiful B and B in a beautiful village more highly. Proper English country experience.

Very friendly quiet guest house
My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights. A very peaceful place in the lovely historic village of Fotheringhay. Our room looked down across the lawn to the River Nene and a small bridge, very picturesque. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. There is a pub in the village within easy walking distance for dinner which has great food for all tastes. We will definitely return and recommend to others. The only downside was no mobile signal for my network EE which was a bit frustrating, there were two other networks which worked.

What a beautiful B&B, location is great. The sites around this house is incredible and the people who own it are fantastic. Stephanie was terrific!! Great cook!! The beds were comfortable, room was clean and the grounds were well maintained; great being by the river. Thank you Stephanie for such an enjoyable time there.

Beautiful home in lovely location
Very spacious and comfortable room with an excellent bed. I slept well and enjoyed the breakfast which kept me going all day. A good place to stay when travelling.

Peace, comfort and a warm welcome.
Warm welcome from lovely owner and great size room with king size bed. As previous reviews have mentioned, no shower, but plenty of hot water for a bath with a shower attachment for rinsing hair. I had a room in the (presumably) converted stable block part of the house which had been decorated to a high, if not a little dated standard. Breakfast was flexible for timing and cooked fresh, with nothing too much trouble in terms of requests. Castle farm is set in a beautiful village within easy distance from major local points of interest. I would happily stay here again.

a very pleasant stay
The room was clean and comfortable tv and tea/coffee provided only couple of things I did not like there were no room keys only a latch on the door the same with the shared bathroom but that apart everything else was fine, nice host and lovely cooked full english breakfast.

Stopped here for business and it was great to slow down in this peaceful village. If you want a warm welcome and a nice pint and meal at the local pub then you can't go wrong.

May need a torch
Stayed here through Hotels.com for one night. Only problem with the room for me was that there was no shower just a hand held one. Pub within 5 mins walking, just be aware that there are no street lights in the village. Very quite road outside the rooms. Slept well with a full breakfast in the morning. Will go back if i'm in the area.

Excellent service
The owner greeted me on arrival and offered freshly made tea, despite there already being facilities in the room. Whilst there were guest wi-fi facilities, these were not working, but I was offered the use of their personal wi-fi if needed. The beds were a little firm, but it's impossible to cater for everyone's taste where that's concerned, so no complaints from me! A very nice English breakfast was provided too.

Idyllic location and good service
The owner welcomed me with a smile I arrived and showed me straight to my room. I had an enormous room to myself although it only a hand held shower fitting on the bath in the en suite which was slightly disappointing. Lovely setting and good home cooked breakfast and I would stay there again if and when I'm next in the area.
