We never got to stay here because they somehow got our reservations wrong, blaming it on Expedia, despite making them about 2 months in advance. We had reserved a room with two beds, but they gave us a room with one bed. We had printed (yup, good old paper) the original reservation to show the mistake. But being that it was Labor Day weekend, they were booked solid and had nothing else to give us. The woman on duty was exceptionally apologetic and very kind. She called the manager, who basically said, "too bad." We tried to make it work, using the pull-out couch, even though we weren't happy about that. But the room was way too small for both the pull-out couch and bed. We had to move the couch, which opened on a slant and completely blocked the bathroom and exit. If there was a fire, the person in the bed would have been trapped. I asked her to try to find a room at another establishment. Luckily, she did. We wound up staying at Ducktrap Motel a mile north, which actually was better anyway, as it was farther from the loud highway and the floor didn't shake when someone walked up the stairs. Had a nice lawn and fire pit, tooIt was also cheaper, but no breakfast. However, because this rearrangement took so long, we had to abandon our evening plans, which was annoying. It looked like a very cute place and we were super excited when we pulled in, but it didn't work out. If you want to stay there, don't go through Expedia and call often to confirm. Or just stay at Ducktrap Motel.

It was very small not much room in the cottages. You had to flush the toilet twice at one seating. Bed was comfortable but the frig made alot of noise. The area was beautiful and peaceful. You had to travel a long way to get to everything.

Our vintage cottages can be seen on our website including a floor plan so when one books they can decide how oarge acottage they wish to experience. We will attend to the refrigerator noise as they vary based on seasonal temperatures. Flushing, thank you so much for realizing that rural septic systems may require extra flushing especially when guests consume large quantities of local seafood and treats. It is easy to create a clogged toilet in a cabin in the woods. We are centrally located within Camden Hills State Park, 5 miles to Camden, 6 to Rockport, 12 to Rockland, 12 to Belfast. Closeby to Cellardoor Winery and just .5 miles from Lincolnville Beach. Thank you for joining us!

Location fantastica equidistante da tutti i punti migliori del Maine (Acadia e Portland), struttura immersa nel verde costituita da cottage e stanze in stile, semplice ma gustosissima colazione, personale davvero caloroso! Migliorerei solo un po’ le pulizia degli ambienti interni, magari prevedendo un cambio lenzuola ogni 3 giorni. Comunque è vera la frase nella breakfast room: entri ospite ed esci amico!!! I had reserved a room with two beds. Upon arrival, I was given a room with one bed and a fold out couch. I requested to be moved and was originally told that was not possible. I was traveling with my adult daughter and didn't want her to have to sleep on a couch. I was eventually "upgraded" to a 2 bedroom cottage (which was indeed very nice) when I insisted, but i shouldn't have had to insist... and I would've been happy with just the room with two beds - they didn't have one available. They said the site I booked on (hotels.com) must not have been updated - but that is their fault, not mine.

Window in door was broken, curtains were falling down because rods were not attached properly, had a 19" tv, lacked cleanliness, sheets were used as bed shams, and the room needs to be updated and needs repairs badly for the price we paid to stay there. Was very disappointed

We are sorry for your disappointment but reporting after you leave versus while you are a guest doesnt help us help YOU during your stay. Our handyman and staff would have attended to any issues of repairs, bedding or cleanliness issues as these are not our standards. The motel is a vintage cottage property and every motel room was once a cottage. Selecting something more expensive might suit you as nothing in the area for motel rooms will be less than our rates of $129/night. We have a limited season in this region and all our annual expenses are covered by a very short tourist season. We try to please and want to help you on-site.

Cool cottage feel and lots of space! The place hadn’t been fully cleaned before we arrived (someone else’s trash in our room and the bath tub had gritty sand in it). The milk was sour at breakfast and I found it odd to be expected to take out our own (and the previous people’s) garbage at this price point.

The property is pretty and well taken care of. The bathroom wasn't cleaned very well though. The window sill was full of dead bugs. The faucet hadn't been cleaned in a while. You could run your finger down it and see the dust come up off from it. When we picked the soap up in the shower it was wet underneath it. I complained to the person at the desk and she apologized saying that it is usually very clean. Considering it was rented the night before there is no way that is from one night. When you are paying $162 a night with tax you expect it to at least be clean.

Comfortable cottage with personal space
Bay Leaf Cottages and Bistro was so cute! It is obvious that the owners care for their property and spent a great deal of effort on the little details. We stayed in a little cottage, each with its own little space. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We wish we could have stayed longer and plan to return.

We stayed in a motel unit; upper level. As four adult family members, the double and single beds and foldout sofa met our needs.The motel grounds are lovely, with a couple of wooden bridges over a stream, a play area for kids, a picnic area outside the office. We enjoyed a refreshing breeze while sitting outside our unit on the porch. We can see a bit of the ocean from porch. Our only complaint was that there were no sheets for the sofa bed, and no one available to provide some for us at 9 PM when we discovered this.

I am sorry the sofabed tub did not yave sheets with the comforter and towels. Whe Myriah got your message, she brought sheets to your room but no one answered the door. It was shortly after 9 p.m.given our check-in is from 3-7p, we ask that guests consider that when the office classes staff may be running errands,shopping, or sleeping.

This was the nicest cabin we have ever stayed in. Beautifully decorated, brand new. Full size laundry in the cabin. Loved it.

A cute, comfortable 2 br apartment to rent!
We had an incident at the hotel at 1:30am that was very scary. The police were called and an intoxicated male was taken away. I had three kids with me who were terrified. That's the bad news. The good news is the resort did their best to make it right by fully refunding our money and following up with the police. The place was lovely, even in winter. Amenities of the 2 br apartment we rented were plentiful, and we had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. Check- in was easy after hours. I'd recommend this place for anyone.

Location is close to everything you would want to do while in the area. The cabins are adorable and a welcomed site to those who don’t want to stay in a basic hotel/motel. Late check in was not a problem with the office, just called ahead to let them know.

Quaint cottage in great location.
My cottage was quaint, clean and comfortable. The area was perfect. I could walk to the beach, and I had my very own local coffee roaster and a bakery/market just down the street. My only negative was that the next door property was a lumber yard. There was machine noise pretty early in the morning, though I am an early riser so I was awake already when the noise started. A great location for points north and south.

Forget this one.
Our cottage was really small. The bed was pushed up against the wall, so that one of us had to climb over the other to get out. There was no maid service, no ice, no fresh towels unless we took our dirty ones to the office, and really intermittent WiFi.

Bad experience unfortunately
The cabin was ok, clean enough for what it was. Mattress was very hard and beds were uncomfortable. There was no television in our cabin which was extremely disappointing and the Wifi was very weak. The children's play cabin was extremely dirty and even creepy. We left a day early despite paying for both nights. I would not recommend.

Read the fine print!
The room we reserved was not the room we were given. The office is only open a few hours per day for checkout and check in. We arrived after it was closed, so there was no opportunity to change our room. There was not a fitted sheet for the sofa bed. Housekeeping is not every day, but we were not at the hotel during office hours to get clean, dry towels. No air conditioning in room, although it says so in description. Overall, you need to read the fine print when staying here, but who wants to spend their time on vacation reading pages from the binder left in the room?

Cute cozy quiet room
Orbitz description stated room had queen and twin and sofa bed. There was no twin which wouldn't have been a problem since there was a sofa bed for our third (13 year old son). But when we pulled out the bed, the frame was not level. There was no way to adjust so we put the mattress on the floor. Realized in the morning that the sofa is on lifts, so no way to use the pull out. It would have been nice for hotel to realize we had three guest and alert us to that fact so we could have adjusted or moved.

For starters the name says Bistro and cottages. Well there's no bistro at all and the "cottages" are more like shanties. You walk in the door after breaking through the cluster of moths and gnats at the door way and once inside you realize that the entire shanty is crooked. You literally have to walk uphill to go from the doorway to the bedroom. Ok I can live with that. I can even live with the fact that it is smaller than any hotel room I've ever been in. But then you get to the kitchen and all of the dishes are filthy beyond belief. The bathroom had hair in the sink and shower from the previous guest. When attempting to get into bed I was disgusted by the stained sheets and even more disgusted by the Beatles on the ceiling falling down on to me. I had absolutely no privacy because the blinds were broken so it was like i was putting on a show for everyone else. And to top everything else off, the owner was nothing more than a rude loudmouth that yells at her guests and employees out in plain sight for all to see and hear. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else....Anywhere else....If you want to enjoy yourself.

I couldn't stay because the smell of the room was so bad. It looked and felt like it had not been rented in a very long time.
