Good location on the Malecón, well equipped rooms with air conditioning, fridge, cable TV, large bathroom. The staff are friendly and try to be very accommodating. However, they appear to be very inexperienced regarding hotel services. Upon arrival our reservation had been misplaced, but I was able to rectify this by calling up my email confirmation on ther desk clerk's computer. We had to request: clothes hangers, towels, drinking glasses, toilet paper - they were provided promptly upon request, but I have never had to request such basics before. The food in the restaurant is quite good, but our waiter seemed to be unfamiliar with the menu, so I was required to review the text ofmy chosen menu item with him. He also didn't seem to understand some service basics (e.g. reaching across one person's setting to position another person's order). I believe the hotel has had a very recent change of ownership. The maid service was satisfactory except for the fact that new towels were forgotten each day and we had to request them. I would recommend that the new owner send at least one staff member on a hotel management course.
