The hotel itself was great. The view from the main pool is the best thing about this hotel. The food was fine for an all inclusive. The drinks were always made well and never tasted watered down. The shows were also good. The only issue I encountered was when arriving at the hotel, they told me I was picked for an upgrade to one of their other RIU hotels, which they considered a diamond upgrade. When I arrived to the other hotel, it wasnt a bad hotel, but it wasnt in my opinion, an upgrade. Las americas had the better view, better pool, better area that was walkable to other activities, and the crowd seemed younger in the "diamond upgrade" hotel, which I was trying to avoid. I believe they just overbooked their hotel and was just trying to move guests over to the other hotel to make up for it. I declined their upgrade and went back to Las americas. After discussing my disappointment with them for wasting my time, moving me back and forth, they made up for it by giving my wife a gift for her birthday, which was appreciated. Overall, I would definitely stay there again.
