Great place to stay in Capetown if you want to be close to the ocean walk, restaurants and in a neighborhood, instead of a big hotel. Great bed and Breakfast at a reasonable cost. Loved it!

I absolutely loved everything about Olaf's Guest House. From the moment I arrived and was greeted by the warm & welcoming staff I knew I was in for a wonderful stay. My room was spacious and bright with excellent bedding, nice toiletries, fruit basket and wooden(not plastic) hangers. The room and air conditioning was whisper quiet...you awoke to birdsong. The breakfast is the BEST I have ever had in any guest house that I have stayed in. Olaf's is ideally located just sets away from the seafront and near numerous restaurants and shops. Do not hesitate for a moment to book this special place. Enjoy!

This is not a 4-star guest house
Our expectations were much higher for a 4-star guest house. The room was old and outdated. The breakfast was moderate, nothing special. The pool is small and not very clean. However, the location was very good.

Thank you for staying with us at our guest house and we appreciate your feedback. We are also sorry that you lost the house keys and you had to replace them. Our guest house is one of the old buildings in CapeTown and by law we aren't allowed to make it modern or make dramatic changes.

Den var ett guest house som skapar en familjär stämning, bra frukost, med varmt alternativ. Fin öppen utomhusplats med liten pool, för frukost och relax. Vi var fyra, rummet lite litet men spaciöst badrum. Samtidigt var vi inte på rummet annat än när vi skulle sova. Jag rekommenderar olafs.

Perfect place to stay!
This is a great plae to stay. If you stay in Cape Town, this place is ideal to discover that area. Clean rooms, good breakast and super friendly people. Especially Hazel is an absolute asset to this place. She "runs the show". I come back.

Ein Gästehaus mit deutschem Besitzer was man sofort am deutschem Frühstück gemerkt hat.Da in Kapstadt Wassermangel besteht war es für mich nicht nachvollziehbar das ich beim Duschen das meiste Wasser benötigte um eine einigermassen auszuhaltende Wassertemperatur zu bekommen.Diese konnte man sehr schlecht einstellen.Wie mir ein anderer Gast erzählte wäre das aber nicht in allen Zimmern.Die Mitarbeiterinnen sind alle sehr herzlich und hilfsbereit.

Dear Michaela, The houses are not built like the houses in Europe the plumbing does not have circulation piping, so the room at the end of the line it does take longer for the warm water to reach that room. The second point is that we put a bucket in every bathroom to catch this cold water to water the plants so that it does not go to waste. By the way I am South African and having lived in Germany I am able to speak the language.

A home away from home
I stayed here for almost a month and can sincerely recommend it as one of the best in South Africa. Value for money, cleanliness, attention and everything!!! Thanks for a wonderful stay

Lovely, relaxing stay despite tiny niggles
A lovely relaxing stay in a surprisingly quiet part of bustling Sea Point. Friendly staff, lovely breakfast, safe and secure. Only a couple of minor quibbles: during the day there seemed to be a lot of shouting between management and lower-ranked staff. I don't know who was the perpetrator, but it was uncomfortable to hear. The bed was very comfortable, but the wooden headboard was set c.2–3 inches away from the wall, meaning that the slightest movement caused loud banging on the wall. Easily fixed by stuffing a cushion between wall and headboard, but something of an oversight. Despite these two issues, I'll still give Olaf's five stars because it was such a lovely stay overall.

Lovely place in Cape Town SeaPoint area
A very comfortable and friendly guesthouse in a quiet area close to the sea. I am a 64 year old woman traveling alone wanting to see Cape Town. This was a perfect place for my taste, not being interested in the night life scene. It is close enough to the city center to take a reasonable taxi ride if wanted but far from the noise. Accommodations were very cleaning aesthetic, excellent breakfast and an area to pick up munchies (on the honor system) at night.

Excellent value for money - good place!
we enjoyed our stay at Olafs guesthouse. Good service and breakfast, WIFI worked fine, good buss connections to city centre and suuroundings. Foodshops and restaurants close by.

Nettes Guest House im Stadtteil Sea Point
Das Hotel befindet sich in einem lebendigen Stadtteil und ist nicht weit von der Küste entfernt. Restaurants und Bars sind direkt um die Ecke. Zudem befindet sich eine Haltestelle der City Sightseeing Tour (empfehlenswert) in unmittelbarer Nähe. Das Hotelpersonal ist freundlich und aufgeschlossen. Zum Frühstück gibt es kalte und warme Speisen sowie frische Brötchen. Alles in allem - sehr empfehlenswert!

Ankommen - sich Wohl fühlen!!!!!!!!
Nicht mehr Abreisen wollen! So einfach war es bei uns. Das Team und der Inhaber waren sehr freundlich, Großartig war das Frühstück. Vor allen Dingen bei Sonnenschein denn da konnten wir in dem gemütlichen Garten unser Frühstück einnehmen. Diese sofortige Vertrautheit und das gute Gefühl findet man nicht in einem ***** Hotel. Egal wo und in welchem Land. Wo gibt es kostenloses, frisches, Obst soviel man will? Wo bekommt man zwei Sorten Sherry, allerdings bei Selbstbedienung, kostenlos? Sehr angenehm war auch die Mehrsprachigkeit und Freundlichkeit des Inhabers. Es hat einfach gepasst. Wir wollen im nächsten Jahr wieder Gäste in "Olaf´s Guest House" sein. Mit den besten Wünschen sagen dieses Christel und Norbert Hohmann

Olaf's guesthouse
I'd arranged a late arrival and had a warm welcome even though it was 11pm. The room was large and comfortable and the whole building had a welcoming atmosphere. I was on my own and never felt awkward in the house and felt safe in the area. The breakfast was excellent and in the summer could be eaten on the terrace, which was pleasant to sit on after breakfast when it was in full winter sun. I left early in the morning and breakfast was left in the fridge for me. I have already recommended Olaf's to friends in Cape Town who don't have a spare room for visitors.

Nettes Guesthouse in Super-Lage!
Das Guesthouse befindet sich im sicheren Stadtteil Sea Point. Die Zimmer sind sehr luxuriös und der Service lässt auch nicht zu wünschen übrig! Die Leute sind sehr nett und das Frühstücksbüffet ist wirklich lecker.

Nettes Gästehaus in guter Lage
Wir haben uns in Olafs Guesthouse sehr wohl gefühlt. Zimmer und Badezimmer sind gemütlich eingerichtet und bieten alles, was man im Urlaub benötigt. Alle Mitarbeiter des Hauses waren sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Frühstück war reichhaltig, mit einer sehr guten Auswahl an leckeren Brötchen. Eierspeisen wurden auf Wunsch frisch zubereitet. Kalte Getränke konnten für einen guten Preis im Gästehaus jederzeit erworben werden.

Pleasant guest house near sea front & shops
Thoroughly enjoyed staying 1 week at this Guest House. Owner and staff looked after our every need. Lots to do in and around Cape Town - vineyards, Cape Peninsula, Kirstenbosch Gardens, Chapman's Peak - all stunning scenery. We found this guest house a friendly and pleasant base for our holiday activities.

Süßes Gästehaus in perfekter Lage
Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt in dem familiären Ambiente. Süße Zimmer mit Bad sind völlig ausreichend für einen kurzen und auch längeren Aufenthalt in Kapstadt. Zentral gelegen in Sea Point, erreicht man die Waterfront, Innenstadt als auch Camps Bay in nur kurzer Fahrtzeit. Ob mit dem Taxi oder dem Mietwagen kommt man samt geliehenem Strandtuch vom Gästehaus schnell zum nächsten Strand. Parkplätze sind ausreichend vorhanden und man fühlt sich vor Ort und in der Umgebung sicher. Am Morgen gut gestärkt mit einem sehr leckeren Frühstück oder am Abend mit einem Wein aus dem hauseigenen Vorrat fühlt man sich rundum versorgt. Mit Wehmut haben wir Olaf's Guesthouse verlassen und können es nur wärmstens weiterempfehlen.

Abbiamo soggiornato a Cape Town facendo tappa in questa deliziosa guesthouse. Oltre ad essere molto carina si trova in zona strategica poiche' veramente a due passi dal lungo mare di Sea Point e comodissima per raggiungere altri punti di interesse per la citta'. Consigliatissima!

Great Place!
I stayed 3 nights initially and a single night two weeks later. I loved it- great location, quiet, great staff. They go out of their way to accommodate. For example, after a cab he called for me did not show up, Raymond gave me a ride to the waterfront so I could catch my tour. Not going to see that at a hotel. I highly recommend.

Olaf's guest house os fantastic
This place is perfectly located. There are 4 Myciti bus lines, the beach, and the citysightseeing hop-on-hop-off bus all within 5 mins walk. Lot's of restaurants, supermarkets, and pharmarcy on the mthe main road. The staff was great. And the house was very quiet even though it was at full capacity. We will definitely stay here if we visit Capetown again. Note, there's no electrical outlet in the bathroom. So bring cordless shaver or ask for extension cord.

Cozy retreat in a safe suburb
Olaf's Guesthouse is a lovely, cozy place to stay. Raymond was a helpful host and the breakfast was quite good, but it was rather lonely at the house in the winter season, with very few other guests and no one around at all most of the time. The neighborhood is fine, but it is quite a bit farther from the city center than I had estimated, so getting back and forth without a car meant taking taxis (about 60 Rand each way into downtown) or the Hop-On/Hop-Off bus (170 Rand for the day; 270 for 2 consecutive days--though you can save 20 Rand if you buy your tickets online ahead of time and bring a printout).

Jeg vil anbefale Olaf's guest house på det sterkeste. Ved ankomst ble vi møtt av en blid, hyggelig og serviceminded vert. Rommet var hyggelig og rent. Frokosten var relativt enkel men veldig god. Fantastic stay!
I enjoyed the stay, very kind service and staff! I highly recommend to stay! It could be good to have thin pillows as an option and makeup mirrors in the rooms!

Safe haven with pool
Stayed for a couple of days after a SA tour. Air con, clean pool, great breakfast, nice staff, laptop to use, free WIFI. In Sea Point, safe, easy to get to other areas of Cape Town. We would recommend and would stay again.

good hotel in good location
I had the front room which was a bit noisy with all the coming and going. Would recommend a room at the back or upstairs and then everything else would be perfect.

Had the Sea Point room
Room also had private table for breakfast on the porch. Unfortunately this is one of the noisiest rooms being in front and you hear everyone coming and going and the staff preparing for breakfast. Would recommend a room upstairs or in the back. Other than that the place is great.

Good base for Cape Town
Good location for Cape Town within minutes of hop on hop off bus stop. Very helpful staff with excellent breakfast
