Delightful stay - Wine-pairing dinner a MUST TRY
We had such a lovely time in this boutique hotel. The staff are professional and helpful. We booked two rooms - one Classic room in the older part of the hotel which is smaller but charming. And another room was assigned in the newer side of the hotel - bigger, more like a city-hotel. The latter was fine for someone who needed to catch-up on emails, etc. Pool is small but in a shaded area and very pleasant. What made this hotel so delightful is the overall setting - so picturesque and tranquil. Also, the wine-pairing dinner was exquisite. Staff are so helpful and keen to engage. We had one of our most memorable dinners here at this hotel. Would definitely recommend this to families and couples!

Magical property with a beautiful rustic modern twist. Felt like I was in heaven honestly. Lovedddd the gardens and the pool. Staff was friendly. It was so peaceful and had amazing views. Plus the food at the restaurant was delicious. The breakfast had nothing to offer for me as I was vegan but the lunch and dinners did!

Main bedroom & adjoining children's bedroom, plus bathroom well appointed, lovely & very comfy. Lovely setting. Shame we couldn't stay longer than one night.

Still great but feels tired
This has been one of our favorite hotels, but I found it not as kept-up, perhaps recovering from Covid closures? Breakfast, in particular, even had not-fresh pastries, which for south Africa, is surprising. Our room was made up between day one and day 2, with the bathroom spotless, but bed covers just loosely pulled up, and no vacuuming

Wir hatten als Familie 8 wunderbare Übernachtungen im Hotel und genossen vor allem das sehr nette Personal und die tolle Einrichtung. Was wir vermissten war eine Bar, die länger als 22.00 Uhr offen hat, und dies auch ausserhalb der Hochsaison. Oder wenn die Bar nicht mehr besetzt sein kann, dann sollte wenigstens der Aufenthaltsraum noch zur Verfügung stehen.

The property was of a good standard the receptionist was appalling gave us wrong information I.e. when I asked about bringing the car nearer to our room she told us we were parked in the correct place and that she would get someone to help she the took us through a warren of corridors to the back of the Hotel down a path to another block I left my wife at the room to deal with the luggage a very helpful polite young man helped me the car was about 35 meters from the reception then another 45 metres to the room it took 3 rerun journeys to get everything moved. I then discover a parking spot 5 meters from our block Not happy the hotel advertises a gourmet restaurant the only thing on the menu were burgers (we were celebrating our 50 th wedding anniversary) the same person took our meal order I asked for a glass of beer which came half empty I asked if she would please top it up to the correct level to be told to stop stressing she walked off to bring another glass this time 3/4 full and walked off it took 20 minutes for anyone to take our food order. The breakfast selection was very good and top quality but the hot food was cold . We were disappointed with our stay and are still waiting for a reply from the hotel management but are not holding our breath

The settings and area is beautiful. The hotel is a bit disjointed and you have to walk quite a way to get to room. Parking near room was not available. The room was lovely but there was not even shower gel. Only one small bar of soap and one small shampoo. The breakfast was also below standard. Not much of a variety. And the lights around our room were not working so the whole building was in darkness and I struggled to get up stairs in the dark. All the bulbs were not working. Very dangerous at night.

Hotel Review - Devon Valley Hotel
The Devon Valley Hotel didn't live up to its 4-star rating. Upon arrival, the staff was not friendly, and our bookings weren't reflecting on their system. As a result, a room was offered that was not ready for guests to check in. There wasn't any extra bedding for when the temperature dipped, the fireplace wasn't working, and the telephone, which should have been used to contact reception, was disconnected and non-functional. Furthermore, we stayed in a room where a wedding took place on the lawns in front of our room, offering little to no privacy (This should have been communicated). Overall a 1-star experience.

ウェルカムドリンクを出してくれたり、パンをつけてくれたり、優しい対応をしてくれた。 敷地内の植物がよく手入れされており、とてもきれい。 プールもきれいで気持ちがよかった。

Basic Zimmer ist OK für einen kurzen Aufenthalt
Wir haben nur eine Nacht im Devon Valley Hotel verbracht, da wir am nächsten Morgen unseren Heimflug antreten mussten. Wir hatten das einfachste Zimmer gebucht. Uns war anhand der Bewertungen bewußt, dass es schönere gab, aber es war völlig OK für eine Nacht. Das Bad war sehr groß, aber etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Das Bett war bequem. Das war die Hauptsache. Die Fenster schließen nicht dicht, was im Winter ein Problem werden könnte. Vor dem Raum gibt es eine kleine Terrasse mit Bistrotisch und 2 Stühlen. Sie wurden in dieser Saison wohl noch nicht gereinigt und laden nicht zum Sitzen ein. Aber es gibt auf dem Gelände genug andere Möglichkeiten. Bis auf den Kofferträger, dessen Namen wir uns leider nicht gemerkt haben, haben wir das Personal nicht sehr freundlich erlebt. Wir kamen schon nach 10 Uhr an und fragten, ob das Zimmer trotz Check-in 14 Uhr evtl. schon bezugsfertig sei, da es mir gesundheitlich nicht gut ginge. Der Herr an der Rezeption ließ uns wissen, dass das nicht möglich sei und wir uns bis 14 Uhr auf dem Gelände überall hinsetzen könnten. Das Gepäck konnten wir unterstellen und es wurde später auf das Zimmer gebracht. Da wir am nächsten Morgen vor dem Frühstück abreisen mussten, wurde uns angeboten für 6:30 ein Frühstück zum Mitnehmen vorzubereiten. Das haben wir dankend angenommen. Jeder bekam ein sehr üppiges und sehr leckeres Frühstück mit auf den Weg. Kaffee haben wir vorab auf dem Zimmer zubereitet. Wasserkocher, Tee und Kaffee gibt’s auf dem Zimmer.

Great view, good food and awesome service.
We took a weekend break from our hectic schedules and this was the perfect place to wind down a bit. The view from the patio is beautiful, the food is great and the room with its semi-private access to the swimming pool was ideal (we were in the manor house).

Really luxurious and wonderful place - the staff are so friendly and helpful and the Junior Suite that I stayed in was sumptious and decorated beautifully. Drinks on the veranda by the fire pit was a real treat. The restaurant is also excellent.

The property landscaping is beautiful. The wait staff in dining area are incredibly friendly and polite. The very upsetting and disappointing visit was we had no water one night so we couldn’t shower or clean up after a long days travel. The second day no hot water and then a little warm water for the next few days. Management did not rectify or compensate for the problem they just made excuses. Will not stay there again.

As per our meeting and explanation this morning, an airlock in the ring feed water system caused a drop in the water pressure feeding the rooms. Unfortunately a problem we could not have predicted. Our maintenance team, together with an expert in this field, is working on resolving the said issue. After the agreement reached this morning, I do hope your faith in our product is now restored. Vriendelijk personeel, 2 restaurants, ruime kamer, terras met spectaculaire zonsondergang, fijn zwembad met handdoeken en ligbedden, buiten ontbijten in de zon met waanzinnig uitzicht, coffee/tea op de kamer, fijne douche. Kamers op begane grond en 1e verdieping - geen lift. Parkeerplaats is wat verder weg, maar drop off van bagage kan bij de receptie. Uitcheck pas om 11u. Gewoon een heerlijk hotel, ligging buiten Stellenbosch maar centraal genoeg om allerlei bezienswaardigheden te bezoeken.

Vackert beläget hotell i Devon Valley som är lantligt elegant och stilfullt med en avslappnad atmosfär. Man trivs omedelbart. Bra service. Vårt bröllops hotell, nu tillbaks för 10 års jubileum. Firade i en grupp på 15. Mat bra men inte fantastisk. Service lite långsam och gjorde inte allt helt rätt. Dock alltid vänliga, så lätt att ha överseende med detaljerna.

Handmade hospitality - hideaway with mountain view
Hervorragender Service - komfortable geräumige Zimmer mit Klimaanlage, WLAN ohne Einschränkungen. Prima Ausgangspunkt für Unternehmungen in der Region. Abends kann man ein gutes Essen auf der Sonnenterasse geniessen. Sehr zu empfehlen sind die Pizzas im offenen Holzkohleofen (Dienstag - Sonntag).

Peaceful and tranquil stay in lovely countryside. Dinner and breakfast service and quality excellent. Was enjoying the views and ambience before the heavy rain. I was impressed that there was an umbrella available in the room to keep us dry walking to the restaurant.

Wonderful location overlooking the vineyards. Large luxurious room. Staff are friendly and helpful. Restaurant food is excellent, only problem is when they have large tour groups, they struggled to cope.

Our only gripe was that they put us in room alongside another which was being refurbished by workmen. This meant we were woken up unceremoniously by workmen dropping hammers and speaking loudly. Just not on, also the air conditioning was faulty!
