Hello Anita. The water supply in Fruitvale is a little hard and the mineral content can leave water marks but it is completely harmless and we consider it among the best water in the world. There is no chemical added and it tastes great and is completely healthy to drink. It also makes for a wonderful shower experience, unlike soft water which is terrible for washing off soap. We really pride ourselves here with our mountain spring water. As for the moths, I'm sorry that some got into your room. They are drawn to the light and will fly into open windows. Closing the curtains would have solved your issue. Moths won't fly through curtains if they don't see any lights. The river moths were a temporary issue and are all gone now. Hope the next time you stay with us you can enjoy our beautiful Kootenay mountains, nearby lakes and rivers.

Hello Hardy. Thank you for your nice comments. All of our rooms do have air conditioners during the hot months but this June was very cool. Our goal is to provide good service and basic amenities at a very reasonable price.

Hello John. All of our rooms are officially NON-smoking but sometimes guests do not comply. We did have one room where there were cigarette burns on the bathroom tiles. We had some tradesmen staying in that room for a couple of months and they did do some damage. That must have been the room you stayed in. It has since been renovated, repaired and updated. Hello Karyl. Yes, we do have nice, comfortable beds and are happy that you appreciated that! Our hotel was built in 1979 to the highest standards of construction including the wiring. There are three separate circuits in each room as most of our customers need to plug in multiple devices including laptops, cellphones etc. We are fully confident in our electrical system and get annual inspections to comply with government safety regulations.

For someone with so much to complain about, it is surprising to us that you stayed here for two nights without bathing? While our hotel is not 5 Star, we were nearly fully booked those nights and you are the only customer who complained about anything. Our employees are currently considered front line workers in this pandemic and your lack of gratitude and respect for them says much more about you than it does about our hard working and dedicated staff. The room you stayed in (for two nights) has brand new beds and bedding. We have been doing extensive renovations and upgrades during lockdown. It is true that none of our rooms have clocks but that is about the only truth you’ve told. Please don’t stay here again because we still won’t have clocks in the room.
