We have been to Sandcastle many times over 18 years. It has been a few years since we were there. Mainly because of cost. We’ve gone to other hotels. Everything is very worn. Things seem patched together. Paint and doors are scratched up. Bathroom was old and some things didn’t work. It felt very much that they no longer needed to maintain things if customers keep coming. The hot tub and pool were nice, but the hot tub was too hot to be in. It felt like 106. That could be fine, but it was 80 and humid in the room. It was a disappointing stay, and sadly, we won’t be back.

Staff is friendly and the beach access is great with only 5 or 6 stairs down to the beach.

Pros: Right on the beach, room was clean, quiet. Cons: Could use a coat of paint, no housekeeping at all. We were there 3 nights - had to ask for towels, no one came to empty trash and no place to empty it ourselves.

We love this place last couple of years we have come here for spring break! It’s affordable, right on beach, kids love the pool, we like that there is a separate room in the rooms so kids can have own room. My only complaint would be the blankets as in not enough or not heavy enough.

The hotel is not what it use to be! The hotel is in disrepair, the don’t clean the room until you check out. You have to go to the office to restock your room

The view of the ocean from our balcony. Easily get to the beach. The staff is quite helpful. Has close parking.

The rooms were nice and quiet. Love the bed so comfortable. The guys at frint desk very nice. Although we stayed on the weekend the parking was full and could not find a spot to park but besides that i would recommend if you like walking on the beach near the hotel looking for shells.

It was very cold and rainy but the view was fantastic and made up for it most definitely. I would absolutely bring my family back for another stay here.

Had a very very lovely view from our balcony on the beach. The location can't be beat. Walkable to a few very fun stores and located perfectly within the town.

We’ve been to sandcastle countless times and have always enjoyed our stay and this time proved to be even better. We had a few room mishaps and a plumbing issue that the hotel staff immediately tried to fix. They were very apologetic and did their best to resolve the issue. They even went above and beyond and gave us a free night stay. This will always be my choice of hotels when staying at the beach.

Amenities great, fireplace flame very low.... thus almost not worth having. Putrid smell near the refrigerator. My best guess something behind or underneath it like a dead animal. I mentioned both these issues upon departure since I could not get anybody to consider either one of them during their stay. The response was basic OhGee sure we can turn up the gas on the fireplace, and OhGee you smelled something? All in all a reasonable value for the money but everything counts towards value and this did make it uncomfortable.

This is our favorite place to stay in Lincoln City. It is a no frills place that meets the needs that are most important to us. The beds are comfortable and beach access is just a few steps away. The staff has always been great.

My family and I have been coming here for years and consider it the best hotel in Lincoln City. It couldn't be located closer to the beach. The fireplace and balcony make for such a wonderful stay. Thank you Sandcastle for being a family staple!

We stayed in a smaller room with a propane fireplace and a balcony overlooking the ocean. Loved it! The beach was immediately off of the property, very easy access.The view from the room was AMAZING.

Gorgeous views, comfy room
Beautiful views. Very comfy, romantic room on the third floor with a fireplace. Kind of a hassle to haul everything up 2 flights of stairs, but we knew that going in. Front desk was unattended when we arrived. We pushed the button but the hand set was at the desk so no one arrived. I ended up calling the hotel directly and a young man finally showed up to answer the phone. That is really my only complaint. Everything else was great. Make sure to check out the breakfast house that is a couple blocks away. Amazing food and service!

The view of and accessibility to the beach was amazing? It was close proximity to everything we wanted to do and see. Check in and out was easy, room was clean, and having the fireplace was the icing on the cake. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend.

Disappointed
My husband and I came to the coast for the weekend. We reserved a king-size non-smoking room. The room was so small that a king-size bed took all the space! Pictures of the room did not do it justice. It looked run down! The view, however, was spectacular!

Sandcastle in late Sept
The Sandcastle is a great, a bit older hotel, but was so clean and had a great staff. The city itself left a bit to be desired, but if you're just going for the beach, having a fireplace and a good view, Sandcastle is affordable and clean!
