A lovely place with friendly service. I think we had the smallest room but it was still large, with a kitchenette, including a fridge and stove. We had a lovely breakfast on the terrace with coffee and tea provided by the host (we had our own breakfast with us).

The hotel is located in a beautiful country setting, the food is fantastic and they really make you feel at home! It was a lovely way to experience rural Latvia!

Wonderful family run establishment. Friendly and had a great home made dinner outside by the apple orchard made by the owners. Everything was local and fresh from there garden. Nice !!!

What a spectular and beautiful setting! The family operating the hotel were wonderful and extremely helpful. We highly recommend the Karlamuiza and will certainly stay again when we return to Latvia.

Incredible service, amazing cuisine. The hotel is in the middle of nature, calm and resting. I would just add more light in the room and modernize the bathroom. Otherwise, we loved it there.

Perfect start and finish for your Amata hiking!
We stayed for two nights at the Elisabeth room - loved waking up to storks flying and birds singing in the yet unblown apple trees was fantastic, nevermind the rain :) The service was friendly and the food was good! Best carrot cake I had ever had and my partner loved the freshly caught trouts! Comfort was good, we both would have preferred a harder bed and softer chairs by the table, but these things are personal preferences, not criticism. Everything was clean and it was a very pleasant stay overall. We would return there and if you are thinking of walking the nature trails, I would not know a better location to start off from and a better room and atmosphere to wish for! We most certainly do recommend this place!

Countryside gem
Beautiful summer manor of baron Zeverts once, now a perfect hideaway,especially in Covid era. Spacious, beautifully restored, nice surroundings, near to all avid zemes attractions - Cesis, Araisi, Gauja National park, Ligatne, Zvartas iezis,Super three choices for breakfast, served to you room, coffee machine in your room, you can order 3 course meal of superior quality just for 20 eur a person. This was our second stay here and I really appreciate high standards of service, friendly staff. Thank you for giving us Home away from Home.

Beautiful countryside manor house.Very clean.Exceptional service, polite and helpful staff.Plentyful three choices of breakfast. Good qyslity lunch and dinners avsilabke.Close to Gaija national park, Araisi medeaval wooden park-museum, Cesis. Very much tecommended.

Lovely hotel, amazing experience
We had a lovely stay in this family hotel. The location is nice, in a remote place in the national park so you definitely need a car to reach it although we were told in the summer you can reach Cesis in two hours. The ladies running the hotel were really friendly and even let us use the sauna at 10.30 pm because we spent the evening in Cesis. Overall, I really recommend the hotel and wouldn't definitely return there if ever in Latvia again.

It was a short drive from the Cesis Castle. The room is beautifully decorated, clean, tidy and spacious. There's a small kitchen where you can have light meal arranged by yourself. There's also a small washing machine which is good for small scale laundry. The hotel is located the national park which is a bit rural, so we have pre-booked dinner with the hotel. There's a small pond in front of the hotel and the environment is nice and beautiful. We took a short walk around the field and nearby the hotel for pictures. The night we arrived was my wife's birthday and we had the dinner at the hotel. The host was so nice to have prepared a candle in the mousse cake for our celebration. Will certainly recommend it.

Environnement magique en pleine nature entouré d'une pommeraie. L' expérience du sauna dans une petite cabane en bois avec rafraîchissement dans l'étang est unique. Petit déjeuner superbe avec jus de pomme et confitures maison ainsi qu'une belle sélection de produits salés. - literie moyenne - sdb quelconque alors que la suite Elizabeth a plein de charme. Nettes Hotel in schöner Lage
Sehr schönes kleines Hotel mit familiärer Atmosphäre, das zudem noch sehr zentral für Tagesausflüge in den Gauja Nationalpark liegt. Wir wohnten im Dreibettzimmer James, das gemütlich und stilvoll eingerichtet ist. Lediglich die Küchenecke war mit drei Tassen, Tellern, Wassergläsern, Müsli-Schalen, einer kleinen Pfanne und einen kleinen Topf sowie Besteck etwas spartanisch ausgestattet. Einen Topf, indem man Nudeln kochen kann, Bier und Weingläser fehlten. Uns hat es nicht gestört, da wir nicht vorhatten zu kochen. Die sehr gut gepflegte Gartenablage mit vielen Sitzgelegenheiten und gemütlichen Hängematten lädt bei gutem Wetter zum Verweilen ein. Wer das Auto ruhen lassen möchte, kann direkt vom dort aus über gepflegte Wanderwege in das Tal der Amata starten. Jeden Abend gab es ein abwechslungsreiches, schmackhaftes, gewählt kombiniertes drei Gänge Menü aus regionaltypischen frischen Zutaten. Auch in den 9 Tagen in denen wir dort waren hat sich nichts wiederholt. Das Frühstücksbuffet war reichhaltig; der frisch gepressten Apfelsaft aus den Äpfeln der hauseigenen Streuobstanlage soll nicht unerwähnt bleiben. Insgesamt haben wir uns sehr wohlgefühlt.

Sehr schöne Lage in der Natur
Das Hotel liegt sehr ruhig an einer Seitenstrasse und ist zum erkunden des Gauja National Parks perfekt. Frühstück wird im Hotel angeboten und war sehr lecker. Abendessen und Kanu Buchungen sind auch möglich, haben wir aber nicht in Anspruch genommen. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Nice place. Not easy to get there. There is no sheets, only blanket. It gets cold at night and there is no extra blanket.

Great stay.
The Karlamuiza is located perfectly for exploring the Gauja national park. Short way to Cesis with great selection of restaurants and pubs, and to all of the sights in the area such as the Turida castle, the cable car and the sand cliffs at Sietiniezis. The staff is extremely friendly and flexible. We stayed in the Ann Marie cottacge, which suited our familiy perfectly. Small kitchen, bedroom and a sleepcouch in the living room. Big garden for the kids to play in. We ended up staying one extra night.

Zeer mooi hotel gelegen in het Gauja natuurpark. Ruime kamers voor een schappelijke prijs. Zeer vriendelijk personeel. Goede wifi. (Kamer Alexander) Het ontbijt was niet heel uitgebreid maar wel goed.

Nice country retreat.
A nice country hotel, easy check in, room was good and everything worked. As this is situated miles from anywhere you really want to eat there. Food was good but not exceptional. Same applies for breakfast. Overall a stunning location, very quiet, accessed via a longish dirt road.

I would recommend this hotel everything about it was great. We had dinner here and although it is a set meal it was very good and the staff friendly and helpful, breakfast is also good but no hot food. As it is located off the beaten track the only drawback is that the road is not paved so for about two and a half kilometers it is a dusty and bumpy drive but well worth it.
