This was a great value for a family. The room we had was great, although we had issues with the A/C but not the end of the world since the weather was not extremely hot. Pool area was lovely. Would have been nice to have an iron in the room but instead we hung what we needed to get creases out on the patio and the humidity and air naturally straightened it out. The restaurant was excellent, the service was exceptional there and the staff so pleasant despite that you can see they work very long days. The beach is lovely and lots of nearby areas to walk and eat. Was unimpressed when the hotel staff on day three started to ask guests for $10 euro each to use the sun beds which was stated no where (they only asked when it was sunny!) . That really put us off, we didn’t pay and laid on the sand instead. Overall though a great stay, room worked well for a family.

Had a really amazing holiday here, great location on the beach and always had available beds around the pool when we went. The staff were really friendly and plenty of restaurants around the hotel within walking distance. Reception were more than happy to book taxis for us to get to the old town which was lovely to visit for food, boat trips and a couple of museums on the cloudier days.

The hotel offers everything listed and more!! The views from the hotel's beach are amazing!! The staff are very kind and accommodating. The restaurant is delicious, there's plenty of variety for breakfast, and the cocktails are great! The room has many amenities, it's spotless and spacious. I booked an in-room massage service, and it was truly great and relaxing. Also, very convenient. One thing not mentioned online is that right under the hotel, by the beach, is a convenient store with a little bit of everything you'll need to relax at your stay. Lastly, if you take a walk around the area, there are plenty of nearby delicious restaurants that are worth a try.

Nice location. Pool and ocean were nice. Kitchen was nice for breakfast. Easy to get around. Large park for runs close by.

Bon séjour malgré quelques déceptions
Bon séjour globalement. Quelques petits bemols: nous avons bénéficié d'une chambre non-rénovée de l'hotel. Le mobilier était ancien, de la peinture écaillée. La kitchenette etait inutilisable. L'ancien frigo incorporé etait HS donc nous dispossions d'un frigo en plus dans la chambre. Frigo qu'il etait nécessaire de débrancher si on voulait se servir de la bouilloire. D'autre part, peu de transat disponibles autour de la piscine, certains réservés dès le levé du jour. Quant à la plage, il faut s'acquitter de 5 euros pour un transat même si vous residez à l'hotel. Cependant, belle plage, et hôtel à 15 min en voiture du centre de la Canée. C'est peut-être l'ambiance hotel qui ne nous cenvenait pas.

The hotel is by the beach. It has a reataurant with nice food for decent prices. Staff is very friendly. It’s just over 4km away from town centre 15 minutes by bus or taxi. Denifinitely recommend the place.

We enjoyed our stay. They have everything on this property. Great beachfront, tiki house that you can rent, pool, amazing restaurant, affordable mini-mart with a lot of souvenirs, beach stuff, and friendly staff is a plus. Highly recommended.

Lovely stay
Spacious, lovely stay. Apartment was spotless and hotel by the beach. Only negative thing was the beach in front of the hotel. There were only like 5 random chairs and no umberellas at all, it could have done some raking too. Reception wasn't open all the time, but it didn't brother me - it was still fairly quiet.

Eine sehr schöne Sicht auf das Meer und die Bucht. Sehr sauber. Kleine Mängel wurden schnell behoben. Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilft gerne weiter. Das Restaurant hat eine sehr gute mediterrane Küche.

Excellent suites on the beach
We really enjoyed our stay! The location is great. You can walk along the beach, there are many restaurants and it’s a short walk to the main road through town. We traveled with 2 adults and 2 children ages 10 and 12. The suite is set up with one bedroom and a living room with two couch beds. Each kid had their own bed. We also had a lovely balcony overlooking the pool and the beach. Beach has chairs and umbrellas for a small fee. The restaurant serves great food and the service is amazing. I only had two small “complaints”. 1) the wifi in our room wasn’t great. However it was better at the pool and beach. 2) the room was a little tight on space for our family of 4. But we were off doing activities and swimming so it wasn’t that big of a deal. Overall, excellent stay and I highly recommend staying here!

Negative: - I booked for a standard apartment with sea view. Well, they gave me a room, with swimming pool view and very behind, if you went very outside the balcony you could see the sea a bit. When I talked to the receptionist about this, they assumed it wasn’t a good room but they said they couldn’t do anything as the hotel was fully booked. After insisting and speaking to them for about 30 min they offered me to come back the day after as they were going to have another room with a better view of the sea. They also offered an upgrade to a higher category and sea view room BUT with an additional fee per night, which was supposed to be free because this was a VIP hotel. - The room should be described as “partially sea view” which would be more accurate, because it’s very far from the sea and the view is partially. - Wifi it’s terrible and they said it’s because wifi is only available in common spaces, not in rooms. - there were ants on the kitchen table and the floors, and I didn’t have food at all. POSITIVE: - Location is good, a lot of restaurants and shops near the hotel - it has its own beach - the restaurant is one of the best things at this hotel. Good food quality and nice people! - The proper sea view room was very nice, except for the ants!

Great Family Hotel in Crete
Our visit at Golden Bay was perfect. The room was clean and had a huge balcony with excellent views of the bay. There was a great pool for the kids with plenty of pool floats and toys to borrow. There was also access to the beach and a wonderful restaurant on site. Also, 15 minutes to city and 30 minutes to airport. Highly recommend!

Welcome to the barracks
The hotel is basically an old Air Force barracks, and they’ve made very little improvements or changes to the rooms. The lobby was fresh and nice , but the rooms were stale and dated.

Nice renovated hotel with good location and excellent beach. Clean rooms and spaces. Friendly staff. Also excellent restorant with good food, drinks and services. Easy way to Chania's downtown with shuttle bus. Easy place for vacation.

Golden Bay Suites blev valgt grundet aflysning fra et andet hotel. Det var en meget fin oplevelse for min familie og jeg at gæste Golden Bay, flotte omgivelser , dejlige suiter som var top fine. Golden Bay var perfekt til vores familie udflugt på 9 personer i aldre fra 1,5 til 74 år. Placeringen på stranden var ideal.

Nous avons passé une très bonne semaine au golden bay. Très belle plage de sable en pente douce avec un très beau coucher de soleil. Piscine agréable avec une partie pataugeoire pour les enfants. Les appartements sont spacieux avec une bonne literie. Bon accueil des hôtesses qui nous ont aidé à appeler un docteur. Quelques restaurants aux alentours mais il faut 15 minutes de voiture pour aller à la Canée avec toutes les distractions souhaitées.

Nous avons résidé 8 jours à golden bay, l appartement était très propre, tres bonne situation géographique, nous sommes en face de la plage ce qui est très pratique avec des enfants. Les parties communes étaient très bien entretenues, joli piscine et décor extérieur tres sympathique. Concernant les points negatifs, malheureusement il y en avait... en raison de la crise sanitaire, le ménage était fait tous les 3 jours... donc des serviettes propres tous les 3 jours, pas de micro ondes dans l l'appartement ( avec de jeunes enfants ce nest pas pratique) il n y avait pas de kit ménage, rien n'était fournis pas de sac poubelle, éponge ect... L accueil est ouvert de 10 à 17h donc en cas de besoin ce nest pas pratique. Les prix des cocktails et softs drinks au bar de la pisine nest pas donné... 2.80 euros le limonade de 25cl.

We booked what they claim to be the best room/apartment in the hotel. However, the AC of the bedroom was not working the first 2 nights! Yes there was another functioning AC in the living room, but even with the door opened was not able to cool down the bedroom. Imagine July in Greece without AC. And although we raised the topic to the hotel right when we arrived (and noticed the issue), it still took them 3 days to fix it - they sent someone in the first day that didn’t solve anything, the next day we complained again and nothing was done and only on our third day after sending an email to the hotel, they finally resolved the issue for our final night. Additionally, the hotel looks overall a bit dated and noisy, if you stay in one of the rooms close to the street (on the side of the beach bar). So although sunset views are truly amazing, all and all definitely not worth the money we spent there!

Wir hatten eine wirklich wunderschöne Zeit. Das Hotel ist sehr sauber, das Personal stets freundlich. Die Zimmer werden auf Wunsch jeden Tag gereinigt und sind dann auch wirklich sauber. Zusammenfassend war es ein perfekter Aufenthalt für uns in diesem Hotel.
