The wifi didn't work, I tried to checkout early so I could get a refund for one day and was flat out told no. Someone entered our room one night around 11:30 pm and people with flashlights kept looking in our room all night. Was absolutely horrible experience I really just want a full refund at this point. Seriously thinking about contacting a lawyer about this awful experience

Dude was beyond rude I was just trying find somewhere for my kids to sleep without checking in next day so I booked online come here dude first try to tell me I can’t have 4 people in a room it has 2 beds why not??? Online I put it and it let me. I’m not broke I could have stayed somewhere nice I was just trying find an opening last min. I don’t like to spending my hard earned money to rude business and I promise my next trip here will be booked in advance. We’re in for a funeral got enough stuff going on so I don’t appreciate the rudeness when I’m spending my money at a last min hotel id perfer not to stay in. Bad for business my and next time I see my family it won’t be at this sorry hotel service makes everything for me and you ain’t got worry bout me coming back. Treat people better my kids been in school all day then traveled 5 hours so we can make it to a funeral not get treated like crap. But to let my kids rest there head. We was gone stay with family but would have had to separate to 2 different towns so we chose to book last min for place to sleep.

The man at the desk was incredibly efficient. He had everything ready before we got there and got straight to the point. The rooms were clean along the lines of Days Inn standards. No bugs. Nothing special but a perfect place to spend a night on a budget.

Worst place in 40 years.
Hotels.com gave this place 2 stars and a 7.6. Google maps gave it 1star and 3.2. Google was more correct. The place was like 1960’s old. Staff was not friendly, probably the worst place I’ve stayed in 40 years. Right on a noisey highway, heat pump helped drown out the noise. Bath tub would not drain, water was ankle deep after showering. No smoke detector or sprinkler heads. I would have asked for a refund but you know how that would have turned out. I feel like Hotel.com needs to better vet their motels.

It was very quiet, I parked feet from the door which was very convenient, excellant orice but the room smelled like a smoking room and there were burn holes in the bed spread. And the check in person was very much all business. It was quick and effecient. Had to ring a bell but she was right there.

The hosts were super friendly, the sheets were clean, the bed was comfortable. It was very quiet. I will stay there again. Beautiful view on the Kanahwa River.

Last hurrah
I've stayed there many times because it's a nice little motel on the Kanawha River. It's always clean and in good repair. It's quiet and safe. However the wifi has always been sketchy. On one occasion the operator's wife would not accept my American Express card. This time the operator tried to discourage me from using it although they are set up to accept it. When I declined he relented and accepted it. Then he asked for a good review on Trip Advisor. The wifi would never connect and I had to postpone my reports. I will not stay there again.

It smelled of cigarettes, it said one king bed I got two small beds instead, dirty carpet, dirty fridge, dirty blankets, pillows cases and hair on towels. Could tell nothing had been wiped down in god knows how long.

Very clean, great location. Would definitely stay again. The staff were courteous, polite and friendly. They obviously take pride in their property. On a long trip back to RI from watch Starship launch in TX, I had stayed at a couple dives stopped in Charleston and lucked out on this one. Got a really good night’s sleep. Great location by the Kanawah River. Got to watch a coal barge go by.

The bathroom amenities are quite aged, and the tub drain did not drain super well - but overall, I was satisfied for the price. I found 1 bug when I first checked-in, but never saw another.

Locally owned, clean and safe place to rest.
This was a local owned family style motel that was clean, convenient, safe. Owners were great. Check in was smooth and painless. park right in front of your room. I will stay here ever time I'm in the area.

You get what you pay for. Room looked beat up, bathroom was semi clean. Beds were comfy. Heat/AC unit was loud as well the road outside. As others stated it’s an ok place for one night stop.

When I have work in Charleston I always stay at the Budget Host Inn. It is clean, quiet, and comfortable. It also offers a great view of the Kanawha River.

Good for quick stays
Nice little motel. Older, but clean and comfortable. Check in was weird. Couldn’t go inside the tiny office, transaction was made through a glass window.

This is a non-descript plain overnight place to stay that is very clean, nice bed and spacious room. It does not have a lot of extras but if staying overnight on the road those are not necessary, and is reflected in their excellent pricing. I will stay here again on my way back and forth.

The room was clean, but when I walked in the room there was like musky smell. It could have been from where it was so close to the river. The room was hard to find. I had to get out of my vehicle to find the room. The outside lights were over powering. Unsure if I would stay there again

Had a nice big room with 3 beds. Nothing fancy but adequate place to lay our heads after a long day of traveling. Definitely needs updating, but it was clean.
