The Market Pavilion Hotel is in a prime location in downtown Charleston. The hotel is clean and updated, with a nice size room, and large bathroom with tub and separate shower. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The complimentary morning coffee, danish, and fruit on each floor, as well as afternoon cookies is a nice perk. They also offer daily housekeeping and turn down services. It was quiet and peaceful, even with our room being located near the elevator. I would recommend this hotel!

One of the best hotel experiences we’ve had! This hotel felt so luxurious! Visiting the bartender, Clark, for a cocktail is a must. They were delicious! Housekeeping was so kind and made sure we had every we needed (including yummy cookies every evening). Location was close to everything. We look forward to returning on a future trip!

Stayed here for our tenth wedding anniversary and the staff did a wonderful job helping arrange surprises in room for my wife. Has always been our favorite place to stay.

Property is in a great location near market and waterfront. Rooms are quaint nicely appointed with bulgari toiletries. Valet is terrible ( rude and exceedingly slow service if you get service)this is my tenth stay at property and i keep hoping they will improve this small aspect. Also in room tv’s are very small.

Location was central and convenient. Staff were extremely nice and were very responsive. Coffee, tea, snacks and fruit available on each floor. The phenomenal service made our stay very comfortable. Would go back there again and would highly recommend.

Check in was excellent as well as check out. The bathrooms and carpet are in need of the TLC. Location is very good and coffee on every floor is so nice. This was our second time...thanks.

My wife and I really enjoyed our recent stay at the Market Pavilion Hotel in downtown Charleston, SC. This is an older, historic hotel in a great location within a short walking distance to lots of good restaurants, watering holes, retail stores, the large covered market whose vendors sell a wide variety of products, and several interesting places to visit. The hotel itself is clean, classic and well-maintained. Our room was beautiful! The only "downsides" associated with our stay was the rooftop bar closed at 10:00 pm the night we were there negating our plans to have a nightcap after we had gone out for a late dinner, and the main restaurant on the first floor adjacent to the lobby that was classy/traditional and looked like it came out of "Southern Living" magazine did not serve breakfast or lunch-only dinner. Even the very nice and long main bar on the first floor accessible as you walk through the main entrance was closed when we returned from dinner around 10:15 pm. The staff was excellent and they have valet parking! I would definitely stay there again!

Location was great. Charleston is very walkable. Receptionists and housekeeping were wonderful! The only thing was this hotel did not have a place for breakfast other than in your room and that was just coffee and a few pastries that were placed near the elevator. There also was no where to sit other than your room. No courtyard or lounge area. The rooftop was a bar and restaurant.

We stayed one night as a last minute trip away. We loved the location. The Pavilion Bar offered great drinks and Justin the waiter was great! Check in was quick and easy- ladies at the reception area were helpful. Bed and linens are nice and clean. Room was clean and lots of space. Only complaint would be the AC in the rooms. We turned to Air 65 setting and it was still warm all night. I read this in another review as well. All in all.. great hotel and we would certainly stay again!

Perfect location for exploring downtown Charleston. Close to our music venue (Music Farm). Beautiful hotel inside and out. We also enjoyed dinner at grill 225 located in the lobby.

Great hotel, lovely rooms, free coffee, pastries and fruit in the mornings and cookies in the evening. Very nice and helpful staff. Perfect location to explore Charleston. I would definitely stay again.

This hotel was a 10!! Ive never given any hotel a 10. It’s beautiful! The restaurant is amazing! The coffee& tea service with cookies & muffins…. Heavenly! White robes, slippers, spacious bathroom & gorgeous bar, the ONLY place I’ll ever stay in Charleston!!

Beautiful hotel in very central location. Valet parking had in and out privileges but we never needed our car because we could walk everywhere from the hotel. Elegant features in rooms and in public spaces. Enjoyed the complimentary coffee and light breakfast each morning too. Very professional and friendly staff who went out of their way to make guests feel at home.

Have been here many times over the years. It’s not near what it used to be or worth the price. Staff that was there was the only highlight of the three days. They did a great job given they were down to just a handful of people. Same seven people worked desk, concierge, bell and valet. Plus stocking the concierge floor. Hats off to them. The bad. No hot breakfast. Can’t even get hot breakfast with room service. No eggs, bacon, grits or biscuits here. No in room coffee maker either. Breakfast is coffee and poor pastry in the hallway. Not a fan of having to get dressed to go out for morning coffee. It was completely gone one day at 9 am. Tiny tv. Maybe 24in. The bed was overdue for replacement. Sore from sleeping, if you can call it that. Parking for valet was nonexistent. Had to use public parking then call the front desk to make space to pull in front of hotel valet. They just didn’t have staff. On final day appeared to be a homeless person locked in the lobby mens room stall sleeping. Everything was overpriced but that appears to be the new normal for Charleston. Have been visiting for over 30 years but this might be our last stay downtown. Charleston in general isn’t what it used to be. This place just adds to its demise. Sad on so many levels to see a place we love deteriorating.

Frustrated arrival
The initial room they gave us had a window with an opaque white covering which TOTALLY prevented you being able to see out of the room. When we complained they gave us another room. We got to the 2nd room and they knocked on the door before we unpacked and said they needed to move us to a 3rd room because they were decorating on that floor. The 3rd room was fine.
