We at Kamala’s boutique guesthouse take our customer service seriously and we are most disappointed to receive such a low score from one of our guests. Especially since it’s out of our control how the booking/refund system works with expedia.We understand your frustration that you weren’t able to reclaim everything you wanted to. We believe this might have contributed to the rating you have given. However, that said, it is normal to pay for a night you have stayed at any guesthouse and wanting to reclaim for all 6 nights seems a little unusual, given that you stayed with us for one of those nights. We as a business feel we shouldn’t be refused payment for services rendered, or penalised in such a way because a guest is dissatisfied about an experience which has largely nothing to do with the quality of our guesthouse or amenities.Kind Regards,Kamala’s boutique guesthouse

Kamala's guest house is like going to your friends' place to stay. Kamala made me feel comfortable the minute we walked in. I had a large room with a private balcony. The air conditioning worked well and the sheets are very soft and snuggly. The place is in a quiet alley with shops and shopping minutes away. Kamala arranged a sightseeing tour and cooking class for me. Both were great! I loved my time in Chiang Mai largely due to Kamala.

I stayed recently .. nice area .. quiet.. peaceful.. but blocks away a party to be had.. the room was nice, clean.. bathroom/shower area very basic.. but that’s ok because Kamala and her staff a so wonderful.. great deal for the price

The staff that I did meet were very polite and helpful. Caretaker tried for three days to fix the ariel for the tv in my room. The bedding and towels were very clean as were the rooms. Free two bottles of water in your room, after that free refills down stairs, free tea and coffee. I deal location really two minutes away from ThaPhae Gate The first room I had was in need of redecorating due to paint coming off, bubbling, tv didn't work for three days, no window view - just a picture hung in front of the window, every morning at 6am the water tank on the roof filled up which was very noisy. After 3 days I was moved to another room (Expedia had split up my booking for some reason???) room better condition, a bit bigger, again sheets, towels and room very clean. Only two channels worked on the tv but I didn't bother saying anything this time as only had a few days left, again no view, still could hear the water but not so bad. Although free tea and coffee it was down in the the reception area so you had to walk up and down to get the drink. Overall a good place to stay

スタッフの方は皆さん感じが良く,フレンドリーです。部屋は古いですが広いです。ペーター門近く、バス停も近いので便利です。

The hotel location is perfect; in a sweet little quiet street, right in the old city, with walking distance to Thapae gate. The staff are all lovely and I loved the fresh free coffee in the morning.

Dejligt sted tæt på alt
Super skønt sted. Utrolig hjælpsomt personale. Adressen passer dog ikke, hvilket gav nogle startproblemer. Det ligger i stedet 50m fra Thae Pae gate, hvilket er helt ideelt. Bor her gerne igen, så kan bestemt anbefales!

This place is near the center, not too far from the airport, and close enough to the shopping and food areas. There are bars, shops, restaurants, currency exchanges, boxing shows, a huge area for bird feeding (great for pictures), tattoo shops, and even a place to do laundry. We stayed here before we flew to Phuket and it felt so much like home that we decided to stay again once we returned. The second time though, a storm had soaked the room we were supposed to stay in. The owner then took it upon herself to offer us a slightly different kind of room there or to have her employees drive us about 3 minutes to her second location. We decided to take the same room at the second location. This place was just as nice and still in walking distance from all of the above. They have amazing customer service. They do require a 500 baht deposit. I used cash and got the full 500 back both times. They have AC and free water/coffee.

Excellent location to Thapae gate and you can easilt tour around the old city. There are free coffee and tea served at the lobby and the staff is quite friendly.

The guest house is behind McDonald's,between old city and market.Easy get transport with tutu or sheotal. Room is big but old and noisy.Accetaptable with what you pay. Staffs are helpful speak English. Restaurant nearby.

location is good as it is just located across the road from tha phe gate. but for solo female traveler, the door lock on the room and the balcony did not seem secure. it is just like room door, easy to be open without key. it feels unsafe in my case. and no lift there. only stairs. staff was friendly

500 Deposit for Key
The hotel location is okay. But the key deposit is a little bit problem for me. I got to check out very earily in the morning about 5:30. But nobody was there. So I dropped my key on the information counter. And I have to go back some other day to get my deposit again.

No service mind in this guesthouse
Bad experience . First day no water in the room and they overcharge a lot because I loose a simple room key. Overall the management don't react professional in my opinion . I can't recommend this guesthouse .

Water cut-off problem and lift-less kamala
Be careful, there’s no lift. We have to carry heavy baggage up several floors. Then water was cut off several times. We gotta inform counter staff and she did pump reset. In the morning I woke up at 6, but water was cut off so I wait till 7am for the staff as there’s no counter staff between 10pm to 7am. Though the room is big, price 1559 Baht is considered high which I expect more bath should have better quality but to my disappointment, the overall experience not match to that high rating I read on Hotels.com review. Location is good. Walking distance to Sunday market which is a crowded night bazaar.

ターペー門が非常に近いです。また、ホテルの前には1キロ３０バーツのランドリーサービスもあります。加えて、ホテルの前には綺麗なマッサージ店もあり、すごく便利な場所でした。 それほどキレイではありませんでしたが、また利用したい宿です。

Great stay, staff are super nice.
Kamala the owner is super sweet. At first I went to the wrong location (she has two hotels) and she quickly sorted everything for me. The staff are real nice and the room is comfortable. Really good value and location is perfect if you want to be in the center of everything.

It's a great little guesthouse in a perfect location. It's in a quiet ally between two streets with everything from restaurants to pagodas to unique shops. It's just across from the Tha Phae Gate. I've stayed twice and would do it again.
