The Knights Inn in Elyria OH had no record on my Hotels.com reservation. When I showed the front desk attendant my Hotels.com Confirmation # for my one night stay (Check-in on 8/10/19) she blurted out in frustration, "Those people send us no information about reservations. I'm dealing with irate people constantly." I asked to speak with the Manager. She said, "I'm the on-duty Manager. I'll have to call my boss." She left the front desk area to make the call. When she returned she told me she could get me into a room with two double beds, but she couldn't give me the $67.35 rate that Hotels.com had offered and I'd have to pay $75 + tax in cash...$86.25 Total. After checking my wallet I told her, "That all the cash I have on me, but I need a room, so I'll take a non-smoking room," She replied, "I'll need a $100 cash deposit for the non-smoking room." I couldn't believe what she'd said, so I said, "What?" She repeated herself. I told her, "I don't have $100 cash and I can't accept a credit card because I don't know how to credit back your deposit on a credit card." I left the place, called the Elyria OH Days Inn and they reserved a non-smoking room for me at a rate that was LESS than the $67.35 rate that Hotels.com confirmed for me at Knights Inn.
