This is a very budget friendly hotel. Small rooms, poor quality beds and no amenities. Breakfast was cold flare. Limited choices and not worth the 8 euro. It did have parking below ground but had to pay for it and very tricky to navigate! Not the hotels fault but there is road construction right out front so again trick to get to.

Bom hotel próximo à Universidade
Hotel no padrão Ibis, simples mas com tudo que é necessário para descansar com segurança e conforto. Estacionamento amplo no local (só a rampa de acesso é um pouco apertada, exige atenção), pode ser utilizado mediante pagamento de uma taxa de 8 Euros por dia. Muito próximo a tudo, Universidade, Igrejas, Mosteiros, dá pra visitar tudo a pé.

Gayet temiz, düzenli bir otel. Konumu çok iyi. Odayı ısıtmak için kullanılan havalandırma gürültülüydü. Kahvaltı pek iyi değildi. Onun dışında memnun kaldım, tavsiye ederim.

C'est un Ibis banal, sans le moindre charme, sans confort hors du minimum, avec un accueil impersonnel. Cela dit, le prix y correspond parfaitement et on est heureux de trouver une bonne affaire pour un séjour de deux jours dans cette très belle ville. L'hôtel est bien situé. Petit déjeuner convenable, avec des oranges à se presser soi-même.

The area was under construction and I guess it was grad weekend, but that’s not the fault of the hotel itself - the only real problem with the hotel was very thin walls. The customer service was awesome and the rooms were good for the price!

This was our second time at this hotel. April 2023 and now (October 2023). The construction in front of the hotel is not a big deal. We just happened to be here during University week, so it was noisy and couldn’t drive to the hotel because the road was closed until 9:00 pm. Then there was a concert from at 2:00 to 5:00 am (yes, am in the morning), so needless to say, we didn’t get much sleep. Moral of the story, don’t stay here if you come during University week (happens twic a year).

We loved the location, just a few minute walk to the main part of old town and just under the university. Part of the road and park in front were under construction so that limited convenient access to the riverfront park (nothing to do with the hotel). We had a Citroen 9 pax van and getting it in/out of the parking garage was VERY nerve racking and do not recommend trying to get a van in or out. Small/medium cars should be no problem. Rooms are very small and difficult to get comfortable with 2 travelers and luggage. Breakfast was typical of the other 6 hotels we stayed in on this trip, not bad, just the same.

Hôtel banal. Petites chambres où il est difficile de se mouvoir une fois les bagages posés. Prix élevé par rapport à ce qui est proposé.

Functional and clean, but no frills
A very standard, albeit dated, Ibis property. Do not expect any magic and you won’t be disappointed. The room was very basic but functional; rather clean (though there were crumbs left under the bed and the shower had some old stains). We had a room turned away from the river (with a view of the city), and it was very quiet at night. Wifi works like a charm. My only qualm is the shower - water pressure was very weak.

The lady at the front desk was able to fix my phone while the carrier did zip. The road construction was a real annoying and made coming and going difficult.

Air conditioning does not work, cell tower on roof
I can review 2 rooms since I changed room and both rooms have a TERRIBLE problem with their air conditioning system: it does not work. On a very hot day you are better off sitting outside, literally. Room 112 was the worst of the 2 (the air con was making only noise but no cooling) although it was a little larger. Also they need to stop using bleach to clean the toilets because the bleach smell, given that there is no air conditioning, is choking. The beds were comfortable but they were extremely pathetic in giving only 2 skimpy pillows. Room 112 had smelly pillows (you know, when many have slept on them with sweat which needs to be properly washed away) but room 402 did not. Room 112 was also a little dirty (bathroom). Room 402 was all clean. Both rooms gave paper cups (for what? There was no kettle nor coffee maker) but they were NOT sealed, so they looked used. Yuk. In the bathroom you only have 2 thin and small towels, really unacceptable. Room 402 is too small for 2 people while room 112 is slightly larger, but both small. The lady at reception was extremely nice and tried to help, but she could not make miracles of course. Coimbra has several low quality hotels and even the better ones are not as good as in other Portugal towns, considering the price. I stayed in 2 rooms. 402 and 112. 402 was right by their roof cell tower, so I asked to be moved and was given (the following day) room 112, which is below the cell tower (but they both gave me a headache).
