Hi Chris, thank you for your score and feedback! Cornwall is one of the more hillier counties; there is a trick to actually only walk one hill, then it is a nice easy down hill journey to the hotel on foot. There is no lift in the original building and because of its listing grade we cannot instal one. The most flights of stairs a guest would ever need to take is 2, and our team are always at hand to help with luggage. We look forward to seeing you again on your next visit to Truro! Hi AmyWe put one set of towels in our rooms when there is one person booked. Apologies if you were two. The team would have corrected that once they had known. Also apologies for a pot that had not been checked... we will watch out for that in the future ! Will do our best to get 8/10 next time !

Hello Shaz; thank you for taking the time to write your review. We are sorry to hear you felt that you had this experience, as your review is certainly a outlier. We are also very surprised by this, as none of this was brought to our attention during your stay. This is a massive shame as a few of your "hiccups" could have addressed during your stay. Please allow us to address the points you have raised:Price: You have joined us during Cornwall's peak holiday season. Cornwall is one of the busiest holiday locations in the UK, with our pricing being competitive to our fellow hotel in the area.Shower: When you had booked, you had the option to request a room with a shower. We did not receive one. You had also booked our Family room, which has traditionally come with a bath so we can accommodate our infant aged guests.Bathroom layout: We are sorry to hear you missed the designated towel railing behind the bathroom door.The ceiling: The hotel is in a 1800's original building. Due to the buildings listing we cannot make any major architectural changes. However we have had a variety of guests use this room since our new ownership 2 years ago and this is the first we have heard of "...banged heads...".Hot breakfast: We are sorry to hear that you did not read our breakfast menu as you would have seen our available hot dishes like our: toasted bagels with smoked salmon pate, toasted sweet berry waffles and etc.Same Breakfast: We offer a scandi-style continental breakfast with a varied buffet of food and ingredients. The only real restrictions is the guest's imagination. Now allow us to raise some points that we experienced during your stay: As mentioned above, you did not approach any of our team member during you stay which would helped improve your experience.You also failed to mention that our team (especially our breakfast team) gave you friendly local advice/knowledge of what to do in the area; like the Bodmin steam railway and the like.This has really caught us off guard because during your stay: you were all so complimentary to our team. Even giving a heartfelt thank you on your departure which included a hug. Overall the request for a "compensation", would be declined by any business in hospitality. Unfortunately you have done the equivalent of going to a restaurant, eat a 3 course meal, having a great time with the staff...then returning a week later and saying you did not enjoy your meal.Now that you know this: We encourage you to come stay with us again on your next visit, armed with your new found knowledge; as we are sure to beat your previous experience's score. Eine lustige historische Tatsache; Zwei Wasserhähne sind in Großbritannien sehr traditionell und befinden sich in vielen britischen Gebäuden. Diese Tradition begann in den 60er Jahren, als unser Wasser an zwei Orten gelagert wurde, was zwei separate Rohre benötigte und um Benutzern mit Sehbehinderung zu helfen.
