I am sorry for the position you were put in. We have notified everyone who is staying with us - sometime when a booking agent is used people do not check the emails from the agent. The chef did not leave - we dispensed with his services before we opened because he could not produce food to the standard we required - You would have been very disapointed if you had been served what he was producing in menu trials. We have meat, cheese and meze platters plus soup and a dessert available so nobody "could only get a croissant in the evening" We are sorry about the situation but have found guests very understanding and supportive in general.

Thank you for your comments. We offer 2 single rooms with single beds at a little over half the cost of a double room. Many people like this rether than pay the cost of a double room which, of course, you were welcome to do. We make no secret of the fact that our single rooms have single beds - there is a photograph on the web site. Water pressure is a little difficult. As you say it is an old building. We incorporate pumps on the showers wherever possible but in some rooms there is just no space. Where this is the case, though it is not a "power shower" there is sufficient pressure for a shower. Aside from that you seem to have enjoyed your stay - maybe you will return and book a double rather than a single room.
