There were nearly 30 people here while you were here so unusual that there was not much of a social atmosphere, I guess people spend too much time on their phones and tablets these days instead of mixing with others. My goodness we are shocked as we knew nothing about this and no other guests told us and even our staff who live in the main backpacker never heard anything either. We wish you had phoned us or come to our rooms or our staffs room so that this would have been dealt with straight away, we are really shocked by this as it is unusual for this to happen at our hostel. Are you sure it was at our hostel and not from one of the properties around us as at night it can sound like they are in our yard. We do apologise that this upset your stay with us and we can assure you that you are safe and that no one can get into our hostel without a key which we give out and key given can only open the room where you are staying and not other rooms. We are very pleased that apart from this, you enjoyed our hostel and its facilities. We do hope the rest of your trip when well. Regards Turtlecove Crew

Yes you are correct in that our ensuite double is next to the kitchen and can be noisy up until 11pm so that is why we always advise guests of this on all booking sites so that they are aware of the room location before they book. My goodness what a sad review, we are sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us but perhaps it would have been more prudent to have discussed this with us on arrival? We do not profess to be anything other than what we are, a good backpacker or hostel. We state on all sites that the room you had is next to the kitchen/dining and that it can be noisy from 7am to 11pm when we close the kitchen so we were a bit surprised at your comments. We have never advertised that we offer a gourmet breakfast, we offer a lite self serve breakfast consisting of a choice of 2 cereals, bread to make toast, jam, butter, fruit, tea, coffee, milk and sugar, and as this is is what a lot of people have for breakfast (and not many hostels offer a free breakfast of any kind these days), most guests appreciate having it. We are proud to be a backpacker and we are sorry if you did not understand that you had booked a hostel and not a hotel. All we can hope is that in future you discuss any problems immediately and that we are sorry that you did not enjoy your backpacker experience. Regards Turtlecove Crew

We apologize that we did not point out to you the other toilets and single room showers, had we known you were uncomfortable with the shared facilities we certainly would have shown you where to find the these. You are quite right we do not sit in our office for the full 12 hours per day that it is open, and we apologize if this caused you problems. We are a small hostel but we are on call 24/7 for 365 days of the year by simply pressing a button by reception door, calling us on the phone or by walking to our rooms a few yards away. Our backpacker is on a side street so you are correct there is nothing directly in our street, but most people think this is a good thing because there is not as much noise at night and it is only a 3 min walk either to the supermarket or the main street of town. We are happy that you enjoyed our beds and hope that the rest of your holiday went well. Best Regards Turtlecove Crew
