The hotel is just off the beaten path. It's not right right in the center of everything but is a short walk to restaurants, the main plaza, and the ferry from Playa del Carmen. There is a hot tub and plenty of places to lounge. The common areas are all well kept and there is a small hot tub. Irma, who showed us to our room and made us breakfast, was very lovely and sweet.
Our room (Sandia) was well appointed, clean, spacious, comfortable, and private.
Finally, breakfast was great. There was fresh squeezed juice, coffee, a pastry, and a hot savory breakfast entree.
I would absolutely recommend this hotel. However, if you have mobility issues, it is probably not the right place for you, there is at least one flight of stairs to get to the rooms.
