Wonderful place to stay! The grounds are beautiful and the owner is truly delightful. She helped to organize trips for us and was very accommodating. This place is a hidden gem.

Un lugar para descansar en familia
La Capilla, es un lugar tranquilo y acogedor para descansar, la atención es muy buena y el desayuno excelente. Sería bueno mejorar el acceso al lugar, la calle es muy estrecha y falta luz. El jardín es lindo, pero puede ser más acogedor.

Amazing garden you can relax in. Room was great and lovely decorated. We loved the rustic touches like the wood ceiling and stone walls. A little tough to find but there is a sign pointing when to turn on the main road so just look for that and youll be fine.

Peaceful retreat in frenetic Urubamba
The garden with hummingbirds and koi is what sold me on La Capilla. The rooms are peaceful and charming. Plans are underway for a yoga studio. Unlimited supply of coca tea.

4 days at La Capilla Lodge
Great small oasis off the beaten track, very quiet, kolibris in the garden. Very helpful hosts who pampered our son who had stomach problems. Only problem were their dogs who were friendly, but young German Shepherds can be overwhelming and my 11yr old son was scared of him.

Nice but quite expensive for what they offer
Price-performance ratio wasn't the best. Nice, but quite small garden with nice dogs. Far away from the center. Breakfast was average - nothing special. Free water was nice.

Great garden and architecturally pleasing hotel
The owners were very kind and attentive people who also took very well care of the huge garden they had. It was so pleasing to have wines with appetizers sitting in the garden with hummingbirds visiting the surrounding flowers. The food they served in the restaurant also was top notch and ended up eating there all the time. Lovely place and truly memorable experience. We'd like to go back there any time!

Charming hotel in heart of Sacred Valley
Stayed here before and after a trip to nearby Machu Picchu. Took a family room for the four of us, which was budget friendly. It was like staying in the home of a friend! The room, beds, and bath were clean, comfortable and functional. The food was good and the beer was cold! A central courtyard was filled to the brim with flowers and fruit trees, hummingbirds and butterflies, cats and dogs (all very well behaved and quiet - we liked the bonus pets). Tables and chairs provide a place to sit and enjoy the beauty, with mountains as a backdrop. The inn keeper really made the stay a fun and informative experience on site in the lounge and briefly during our meals. He and his dogs led us on a very enjoyable and work out worthy hike up the mini-mountain behind the property taking us by Inca and Spanish ruins, explaining about various plants along the way. He also managed getting our transportation to and from Cusco, and a trip in between. His help in this was definitely an asset to us. We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Value, clean, and beautiful.
Capilla Lodge is an excellent place to stay in Urubamba. It is a 4 soles, 10 min ride, on a motorcycle taxi from the bus station. The rooms are good value, but do not have televisions, if TVs are amongst your requirement. The gardens and communal areas are well kept. Chris, the proprieter helped us trek to the Salineras, via a back route, a 90 min which was enjoyable. We will choose La Capilla again.

Pleasantly surprised and permanently a big Fan!
The owners and their family are delightful. Chris/Cristof and Rhomina were delightful. The food had a European flair along with the Peruvian dishes and was delicious. Service was excellent and Chris went above and beyond to be sure we had what we needed. It was a fun, familiar, casual place. The bar was awesome. Melissa was a newcomer helping out and was just as friendly and sweet as can be. I definitely recommend La Capilla. I would be happy to attach some pix as well of the garden which was personally attended to by Chris. He made it all so easy by accepting all of our credit cards (VISA is preferred throughout most of Peru) but we had a Mastercard and he helped us arrange day trips with his car service (Julio) who took us everywhere. It was affordable and pleasant. I would have been happy staying there for a week to unwind and enjoy the local area.

Not what I had expected
The room had a lot of ants and there was no daily cleaning service. The breakfast is from 8:00 - 9:00 and the owner of the hotel was not flexible when it came to needing an earlier time due to excursions. The kitchen closed early for dinner as well, which again had no flexibility. I was not given much help when I asked about excursions. The location is definitely outside of the town, if that matters. The hotel grounds are beautiful, but the strict rules and the dirty room did not allow me to have what I thought would be a relaxing stay.

Friendly Staff and Great Accommodations
We couldn't have picked a better place to stay while we were in Peru to see the various ruins. First, the proprietors, Chris and Rhomina are first-rate individuals who aim to please. They helped us plan our trips (including ATVs and Zip Lines), scheduled taxis for us and even had medicine delivered to us when my wife had a case of "Montezuma's Revenge"--they charged us about $4 US for the medicine and the "Toot Toot" to deliver it. Second, their place is gorgeous. All the "cottages" face out onto a beautiful courtyard full of flowers, bushes and trees, with places to sit outside and enjoy a glass of wine or another cold drink from their nicely stocked bar. Third the hotel is centrally located to many of the sites you will want to see...Urubamba is a 5 minute "Toot Toot" ride that costs 5 Soles (Less than $2 US). It is a 20 minute taxi ride to Ollantaytambo, another famous site, which ranged from 10-30 Soles for a taxi ride. Finally, they provide a free breakfast that will start your day out right, as well as a menu of dinner entrees if you are there for the evening. We found this very convenient for days where we got back to the Lodge early to relax and didn't have to worry about going out just to find a place to eat. If your stay is anything like ours, you will love the sites you see in Peru and remember the two proprietors who made your stay that much more enjoyable.

Charming lodge in the Sacred Valley
It's worth going out of your way to stay at this place. It's located a bit away from the town center, but since transportation is extremely cheap and convenient, the location isn't an issue. What you get is a quiet location and a beautiful setting. The owner was very helpful in providing advice and tips about the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu. There's a restaurant and bar on-site. They also stock other Peruvian beer besides Cesquena. Breakfast was also provided. They are also eco-friendly. We did laundry but keep in mind that it's dried outdoors if you're in a rush. We were traveling as a group and booked the largest room. There's a queen on the lower floor and three beds on the upper floor of our room. Even with the four of us, it was still very roomy. We only stayed one night, but wished we'd stayed here for at least two given that they're centrally located in the Sacred Valley. If you want to explore the towns and ruins in the Sacred Valley such as Moray, Pisac, and Ollantaytambo, this hotel is a very good choice before heading to Machu Picchu.

This is a jewel of a place.
We stayed at La Capilla for four nights and were delighted from start to finish with our room and the service. The living units are within a high-walled compound and we felt very secure, Units front on a lovely garden with a fountain. The owner-managers are very helpful in arranging local transportation and providing guidance as needed. The included breakfasts were excellent. We also ate dinner in the restaurant all four nights and were never disappointed.

Best place to stay in the Valley
We had scheduled to stay 3 nights and ended up staying all 9 nights we had in the valley. Chris is great and has a lot of wonderful information. Very comfortable, clean, and safe. We felt like we had a personal guide from Chris and his lovely family. Great place!

Perfect place to stay in Urubamba
Situated just outside the village, this lodge is an amazing place: nicely decorated rooms, very quiet, around a garden, very friendly French hosts. We dined there and the food was just amazing. Very good value for money and highly recommended for anyone who intends to stay somewhere in the valley. Worth staying longer for treks in the mountains too.

Incredible place and people!!
What a fantastic hotel I stayed for 10 days and used it as a base to explore Sacred Valley/Machu Picchu. It was an oasis of calm with stunning gardens and seating areas to relax in. The rooms were extremely comfortable and clean. The owners were incredible, making me feel completely at home and offering help and advice on what to visit and how best to travel around Sacred Valley. The food was delicious and the Alma pub onsite, a fantastic place to wind down at the end of the day. All in all I definitely recommend La Capilla Lodge.

Feels like a great B&B
Can't recommend this place enough if you're staying in Urubamba. Just a really warm and friendly place, and the owners, Chris and Rhowena, are great. They are super helpful with setting up any tours, rides, recommendations and not to mention, they fix a mean Pisco Sour! Feels more like a B&B, with a nice central backyard and home style kitchen. Probably overall the best place we stayed in Peru, factoring in our desire for peace, quiet and a good home base to explore the Sacred Valley.

Amazing B&B - A hidden gem in Sacred Valley
Our family of four (including two boys under 10) stayed in La Capilla for three nights in June 2015 to acclimate altitude before we took the 4-day-3-night Inca-Trail trek from Ollantaytambo to Machu Picchu. The lodge is really a B&B - not a deluxe hotel but very quiet, clean, and with comfortable beds. Its owner, Chris, is friendly, hard-working, and very accessible via emails. He is kind of person you want to make friend with. During our stay, Chris has kindly arranged Taxi to pick us from airport, and also to take us to local destinations in Sacred Valley. Chris also offered detailed instructions how to use local transportation (much much cheaper than Taxi) and indeed to travel like locals. In Capilla, the complimentary and delicious breakfast is normally served by a local lady chef. On the checking-out morning, we needed to have an early breakfast so to catch our Inca trail trek. Chris very kindly volunteered to get up early and prepared us the early breakfast !! Capilla Lodge is an ideal place for anyone to stay in Sacred Valley and I highly recommended it. By the way, Chris' French restaurant (Los 2 Lokos) in 'downtown' Urubamba is now ranked as top #1 choice on tripadvisor. Don't miss it !

Amazing!
We loved staying at La Capilla. Initially, we did not realize we were so far away from Cusco. That turned out to be a good thing! We visited 3 ruins in one day, as they were close by. The next day we traveled to Macchu Picchu. Christophe, Romina and Beatrice were amazing hosts. Great meals, wonderful atmosphere and BEAUTIFUL.

Excellent choice for the Sacred Valley
We spent 4 wonderful days at La Capilla, an enchanting oasis of peace and quiet between Urumamba and Ollantaytambo. Chris is a wonderful host, quick to answer questions and accommodate requests, eager to guide us to little known hikes and sights. The food he and his staff prepares is top-notch home-cooked Peruvian with Continental flair. (He also owns a top-rated fusion restaurant in Urubabmba). The lodge is lovely, several low buildings, using all local materials, rustic looking, but comfortable. The gardens are wonderful, with many nooks for quiet reading or conversation. Overall a fabulous choice to spend a few quiet days away from the tourist noise.

Very good service; interesting area.
The sort of hotel that you book for a couple of days, but think about staying a couple of weeks. The manager is very attentive and helpful in every way, and is genuinely concerned with visitors well-being. Very nice garden, good restaurant and comfortable bar area. The hotel is away from the heavy duty tourist area, so is a good place to relax for a few days, while going on trips through thevalley

また泊まりたい素敵なお宿
ペルーでは、４つのホテルに泊まりましたが、一番よかった思い出に残る場所です。 ホストのクリスが素晴らしく、本当によくしていただきました。 タクシーの手配やスーツケースを預けるのも、快くしてくださいました。 ２日目の朝食ではパンが届く時間よりも前の出発の予定だったので、朝食はいらないというと、奥さんが手作りのシナモンロールを作ってくださいました。 とても美味しく、気持ちが本当に嬉しかったです。 かわいいお庭や、部屋も広く快適で、ウルバンバの中心地からは離れているため 空気も綺麗で静かでした。 またペルーに行くことがあればぜひ泊まりたいです。

We loved this place
We really enjoyed our stay at this lodge. Romina and Christophe are hard working and accommodating hosts. This place is about a 10 minute taxi ride from the train. Our rooms were facing the beautiful garden courtyard. Our dinner and breakfast were exceptional --prepared by Christophe, our French host. The local beef filet was superb and perfectly prepared, as was the avocado filled with Russian Salad. Christophe and Stuart were very helpful in describing various Sacred Valley tour options. Romina managed to find a full day driver for us at the last minute--and Julio Ceasar was fantastic! Thank you for welcoming tired and hungry travelers to your wonderful lodge.

Nice bed and breakfast in Urubamba
We stayed here for 3 nights in December 2014. Location is good with easy access to Sacred Valley attractions (Olly, Moray, Salineas salt mines, Pisac and Macchu Picchu. Clean rooms which have a Peruvian flair to it. Nice gardens and fruit trees in the Courtyard. The hotel is run by Chris and Rhomina. We met Rhomina's dad and mom also during out stay and they both are a wealth of information regarding Peru and the local area and gave us very good tips. Breakfast consists of eggs (fried or scrambled - made fresh), bread - butter and three kinds of jams, fresh juices, cereal, milk, coffee, and tea. Breakfast starts at 8:00 AM, which is a little late if you want an early start but on the day you go to Macchu Picchu, Chris gets up early to give you basic breakfast. The hotel is 1-2 miles from the Urubamba city center - if you want to take public transportation for nearby sites, then you will have to take a shared combi to city center and then hop on the bus or take a taxi. Chris can also order a taxi for you but it is expensive in comparison to rates charged by local taxis. On the day we went to Macchu Picchu, we asked Chris to order a taxi for us since we left the hotel at 5:30 AM, all other days, we arranged for a taxi ourselves- there are plenty of taxi drivers who will work with you and meet you at the hotel. The hotel has installed some eco friendly system which powers their hot water and it does not work well. The water is not hot. Internet is extremely slow.

Loved the Place and The People!
This is the most make yourself home and part of the family place I have ever been. Chris and Rhomina will arrange any activities you like and are anxious to have you enjoy your stay. Some may wonder about my 5 rating on the neighborhood. The lodge is a neighborhood unto itself! An oasis you wont believe. The hard to believe reviews are true!

Nice quiet hotel but 20 minutes from Ollantaytambo
This is a very nice hotel to relax. Owner is very welcoming and helpful. Family ambiance. Would like to sit in garden for a week! However, location is NOT in Ollantaytamba like I expected. You need to take a 20 minute ride to town. It is closer to Urubamba. Therefore, you are restricted to meals at hotel or take the bus. Internet very slow. Kind of ecologic hotel. Would have liked to be in Ollantaytamba.

Sanctuary in the mountains
La Capilla offers cozy rooms facing a beautiful garden - a bit outside Urubamba town making it quite peaceful and especially quiet at night. It took a while for the water to heat up and shower pressure was a bit erratic, but we got used to it. Very comfortable beds. Also, extremely accommodating and warm hosts who offered great tips for restaurants and transportation for our last-minute planning!

Quiet, peacefull
Our six day stay at La Cailla lodge was fabulous! Chris and Rhomina are very accommodating innkeepers. This was my first visit to Peru and they went above and beyond. they assisted me in obtaining all our Machu Pichu tickets and transportation to and from. They were a wealth of information on the local area. All that and the feeling that you are staying with old friends. My place to stay when I return.

A place for those who like travel
My wife and I were pleasantly surprised to discover a wonderful oasis behind the walls of La Capilla Lodge. The family that owns and runs the place have discovered a wonderful way of providing some of the comforts of home along with a unique Peruvian flair. The food, the drink, the room and the grounds were most enjoyed. It was also a pleasure to meet the other guests that came and went. The owners were most accommodating and helpful on all accounts. We discovered that many guests enjoyed there stay so much that they stayed longer and postponed there return home or the next leg of their trip. We look forward to retuning and highly recommend this oasis to any would be traveler to the sacred valley of Peru. Thnx Jason and Riez

The best hotel ever I stayed overseas
This hotel is better than a 5 star hotel. If you ever come to Peru, you want to stay in this hotel!!! This hotel is run by a wonderful family who cares about you and make sure you are comfortable. The room was very clean and quite. The garden is so pretty and you can relax in a hammock. As for the location, it is not inside the town which is good. It is only $1 for taxi and a 5 min ride from downtown. It is a lot cleaner and quieter since you are away from downtown. We traveled around Bolivia and Peru for 2 weeks and stayed at hotels around the same price as this hotel. This hotel is much better than other hotels we stayed at during this trip. It was so hard to leave this hotel because we were so comfortable. Another great thing about this hotel is the food!!! I tried Pizza, pasta, burger, hotdog and local Peruvian food in Peru for the last two weeks but nothing satisfied me. But this hotel’s food was so good. The best food ever!!! We had dinner at the hotel every night. We would love to come back to this hotel in the future!!! The best hotel ever!!

Best place we stayed in Peru
I stayed in several great lodges with awesome hosts, but La Capilla and Chris was definitely the best. What a wonderful, tranquil lodge with gorgeous gardens and comfortable rooms. And you really couldn't ask for a better host. Chris, his wife, and the rest of the staff were really fantastic. Great food, cute puppy running around, and just a wonderful experierence. I wish we had stayed a couple more nights!

A wonderful place to aclimatized
This is a perfect place to aclimatized. My wife and I had a wonderful experience staying at La Capilla. Chris and Rhowena are a wonderful host, they are friendly and make you as part of the family. They spent time talking to you, helping you with transport as best they could and give you advice and suggestions on places to see around the area. We could never thank them enough for the wonderful experience we had staying with la capilla at Urabamba.

Beautiful lodge in the Sacred Valley.
We stayed here for three nights and the place was absolutely beautiful! It really felt like home. Chris and Rowena were so hospitable and kind. We felt very safe there. The rooms are beautifully decorated with thick alpaca blankets. There is no heat but we kept warm. The grounds are large with gardens, patios, and hammocks to relax or socialize outdoors. We star-gazed with Chris and other guests one night. I saw the Milky Way for the first time as well as other planets. Breakfast was filling with coffee, tea, cocoa tea, milk, juice, eggs, cheese, bread, home-made jams, and fruits. They have a menu to serve food later in the day as well. Excellent home-cooked food. Great variety. They will also cook to your needs if you are vegetarian or have allergy issues. The dining room is in the kitchen area so it feels like home. Cocoa tea is free all day to help with the altitude. They recommended what to see and helped with transportation. One building holds the family room and bar with books, guitar, music, and plenty of couches...very lodge-like. The entire area is secure. I highly recommend this lodge as a first stop to acclimate to the altitude. If you feel sick, they will provide treatment. Loved are stay!

I originally made reservations for one night, but after our first few hours there, I cancelled my other reservation and we stayed here an additional night. Chris and Romina are exquisite hosts. They love their life, what they do, and the land. Their passion and enthusiasm definitely rubs off on the guests. Chris took my husband and I on an exhilarating hike up the mountain right behind their property where we saw ruins, glaciers, horses, and an amazing view of the valley and surrounding mountains. We asked them a million questions about Peru and the Sacred Valley, and they were gracious and patient enough to help us with last minute details of our voyage. Chris knew all the native plants and fruit and was so willing to be a friend to us. We took a taxi, rickshaw, collectivo or a bus to the surrounding towns at various times during our stay, and the logistics were perfect. It was everything we were hoping for and more!
