Just so future guests see your comment, I will respond. Typically, I would not, but in your case, I shall.For those reading please understand this guest didn't want other guests in the house where they were. I offered them an entire house, alone. When they came in to look at the house I asked if her 2 yr old and other child were ok in the car. They had been in the car for almost an hour inbetween looking at properties. Because I asked if her 2 yr old was ok she flew off the handle and yelled at me accusing me of saying they neglected their children. And, said I was rude for even asking. Her comment and review does not reflect the beautiful properties, but her personal tone about her children. I was sincere in asking if they were ok and said they might want to come in. But because I asked, she grabbed at the word " rude". I reported the incident to Expedia before any review was offered. I even wrote them and told them I was sorry if they felt I thought they were neglectful and invited them to stay again. Lesson learned. Dont ask about kids in the car.

So sorry you didn't like my house as much as ALL my other guests. I just wish you had taken the time to call at anytime to let me know. I would GLADLY have recommended another place for you. Next time let your host know. We strive to do our best.

Hi Ian. We apologize you arrived to an open door. We were afraid you would arrive late so we unlocked it for you for your convenience. The night of your arrival we had horrible winds and lots of area power was lost. Housekeeping must have not shut it well. We apologize again. Im sure the cleaning cloth was left by mistake after she had scrubbed the bath and toilet for your use. I appreciate you acknowledging our house was clean and comfortable. Instructions on expedia guide you to call the host for entry instructions. We never received a call of your arrival. Im glad you arrived safely. Had you called and informed us of the open door mishap we would have certainly made it correct for you. If you're in the area again we ask for another opportunity to make your stay even better. When covid is red in our area I usually don't prepare breakfast.. i usually treat to a restaurant close to our Inn. I thought you had an early Louisville flight.. Jodi.I looked my response time up when you booked late in the evening and it was within 15 mins of your call. When I arrived you were still in tears because you thought you were going to be stuck without a room after trying to book at the last minute. Thankfully, I had one. I met you at the house within 5 minutes of your arrival call. I was glad I was able to provide lodging as you were so distressed over your exams. To correct your comment None of my 3 bathrooms leak and there are 8 overhead lights and a lamp in the bathroom. Plenty of light! Also, you had a private shower in your room spotless and ready for your use. When writing reviews I believe honesty is the best policy. You were "wowed" with positive, complimentary remarks when you saw your room and the bedding. I attentively listened to your situation of your exams and the stress of it all. I could see you needed a good nights sleep and I offered to cook you a full breakfast before your exam. As I told you upon arrival, if there were any problems or issues, I was just down the street and would have arrived back within minutes. I have a Superhost rating because I attend to my guests promptly and I'm replying so that other guests aren't misled that my house isn't as beautiful and charming and spotless as my other guests have expressed.
