Trolley stop is convenient for trips downtown. Comfortable bed, good shower and babbling brook was nice to wake up to.

Only suggestion is more or bigger trash cans in the room. We had the presidential suite and it had 2 tiny trash cans and one medium. You need a bigger one in the kitchen.

This property is just outside of deadwood and all the hustle and craziness of finding parking. Room was very comfy and the staff very welcoming. Next time through we will certainly stay there.

This was an event weekend which I expected some extra noise as patrons returned to the motel, but when the noise continued past 3 AM and there was no resolution, it became unacceptable. We left the motel in the morning and forfeited our 2nd night stay

The Casino and bar lady were excellent and very friendly. The hotel front desk was very indifferent relatied to booking through a third party which was EXPEDIA. We are also Wyndham platinum members but they did not care as we booked through Expedia. The ac/heater unit was so loud that you could not use it. We asked for it to be fixed the first day and was still not able to have heat the entire 3 night stay. No closet in room. Clothes hung over desk with coffee maker. Bathroom freezing due to no heat!! Have stayed in the past with a good experience but not this time. Loved the bar lady!!

This was our 2nd stay at the Gulch. The 1st time, we stayed in the Presidential Suite. It was lovely. This time, we were in a standard room. It was old and dated. The man who checked us in said we had a nice view...the view was a construction site and the tops of maintenance buildings on the property, I think. The room was just ok, at best. I wouldn't stay in a standard room again. As for the hotel part, the staff is always nice. We were interested in the morning breakfast and I asked the bartender (this was at night) what time breakfast started. She said, "I don't know. I only work nights". We came down the next morning (a Sunday) just after 8am. There was no breakfast available, even though they have breakfast menus on the tables. Overall, I doubt we would stay here again. Its about a 20 minute walk to downtown, which happened to be a nice day, but sometimes waiting for the trolley and its long route takes even longer than that.

The staff were all polite and kind. I only have one complaint. Its winter in South Dakota, why is the thinnest sheet, thicker sheet, and sheet the winter bedding options? To be clear, this sucks.

The restaurant was closed Sunday morning until just after we checked out. Also left an expensive bottle of wine in the refrigerator and housekeeping kept it.

They have done a lot of upgrades over the last couple of years. They are nice changes. Friendly staff, clean comfortable rooms.

We always try to stay at the Gulch when we come to Deadwood. The rooms are amazing. A quick trolley ride and your downtown.

You do have to go through the casino for hotel check in. Check in was quick and easy! The hallway to our room did need vacuumed but our room was overall pretty clean! I loved the location of our room, its size & amenities of the bathroom! Alot of the light switches didnt work, light bulbs & outlets didnt work either. Kinda silly to not have something so simple working. Still nice room and really enjoyed the hot tub, bar and Bostons restaurant.

This is an older motel that has been renovated, comfortable beds and pillows, clean. No continental breakfast but a very good restaurant close by.

We stayed in the presidential suite and it was very nice! The jet tub didn't work but it was small in comparison to the quality of the room! We enjoyed the quiteness and the relaxation!

Super strange wont be back
Had family suite. Toilet seat was broke and they couldn't fix until following day. Weird ceiling lighting. Not enough plug ins. One bed firm. One bed so soft you sank and rolled to the center. 2 couches, one good and one broke down. Beds under windows with air conditioner between. Mini blinds, one set 10 inches too short. One broken pieces. So so bright in room with no black out option. Up with the sun and street lights at night. Shower head extremely low. No elevator and a weird hall and staircase to access toom. Overall very strange experience.

We stayed here for our honeymoon in the presidential suite. The staff was extremely nice and the facility was very clean. Our room was cleaned and got fresh towels everyday on our 5 night stay. There were a few things that were unfortunate during our stay but wasn't a deal breaker. There is a surround sound system in the presidential suite that didn't work. I asked the front desk for directions just in case I was doing something wrong. They kindly gave me a a copy of the instructions. I followed the instructions step by step and it still didn't work. The first night we were there, we used their hot tub. It was nice and very clean. During the rest of our stay there, the hot tub was closed for painting which did suck because we were excited that there was one. The property was a very short drive to downtown Deadwood and there is a trolly system you can jump on for $2 a person that runs every 30 mins that can take you downtown. Their casino was really nice and clean and I did win some good amount of money during our stay. Overall, our stay there was very pleasant and would recommend this resort to anyone that plans on staying in the Black Hills.

I was expecting more from a property called a resort and Trademark Collection by Wyndham. It was a motel. The creek behind was pretty, but only had a couple of decks overlooking it. So disappointing.
