I have stayed at this hotel a couple of times with the last time about 10 years ago and I think they still have the same carpet throughout the hotel. My room was great and clean. The hot breakfast was good and a good selection. I will definitely stay here when I come back.

Walls are very thin and can hear people in next room so it made it hard to sleep. The guy that checked us in wasn’t very friendly and not very helpful

No hot water and no shower pressure. They had us go to a different room to take a shower that wasn’t cleaned yet, no towels or soaps available either to use for shower.

They definitely care about the property and conveniences for their guests. It is the best nonchain hotel I have stayed at.

While the room was clean, there were many things that just weren't up to par for what we paid. The remote for the TV didn't work, the bed was very uncomfortable, the a/c-heater didn't work properly, and it was very noisy. In addition, there was no elevator. While this isn't necessarily a problem, b/c there is first floor rooms, I have had some knee issues, and had I known there was no elevator, I would have stayed on the first floor; although, I would have had to pay more for that. During breakfast, the coffee machine was out of order. It just wasn't a pleasant experience, and should have stayed up the road at the Days Inn.

Favorite stay in Carroll
This is my go-to place when staying in the Carroll County area. My King Jr Suite was spacious and comfortable, and I greatly appreciated the extra space for a 5-day stay. The bed was a bit on the firm side, but still comfortable, and having a sofa as an alternative to sitting on the bed was great. I also liked the close proximity of my room to the breakfast area -- it made getting coffee convenient and easier than having to make it a cup at time at 5:30 am. Only concern was the humidity in the room; because of the weird weather, I used both the AC and the heat during the week, but it always felt slightly damp. Still, I'll definitely stay here in the future.

Understaffed
I waited 20 minutes for a clerk to check in. Sign said helping other guests. No bell or anything like that so I just started calling them. On the 3rd call she answered and said she’d be up to check me in. Key cards didn’t work so I had to go back to the front desk. Room was fine for comfort and cleanliness. Breakfast room - garbage overflowing. Expecting one person to do the front desk and the breakfast room is too much. Checked out - they charged me for the room although I paid through hotels.com. There “shouldn’t be a charge”. I get a text when charges hit my card so showed her that I did have a charge. She Got back on the phobe with someone and then gave me an invoice showing zero due. Will be checking my credit card to be sure.

I did not like that there did not seem to be staff in the building. Bathroom needed to be updated. Bathtub was very stained and although it appeared clean, it needed replacing. IT looks like a place that houses long term working on area contstruction-type travellers. I would not stay there again.

Nice hotel. I would recommend getting an odd number room so that you are on the back side of the hotel. The front side is faces the highway and you can hear a lot of truck rumbling up. Nice selection for a breakfast considering the size of the space.

2nd stay at location in past couple months, comfortable. Unfortunate no restaurant. Breakfast bar is hit or miss. Both visits, no cranberry or orange juice. 2nd this stay had juice. First day this visit, no regular coffee available, only decaf. Desk staff ok, but get feeling they would rather be somewhere else.

Restaurant is Closed
One of major reasons cancelled reservation at other local hotel was because of internal restaurant at the Carrollton Inn.... Restaurant was closed and assumed has been closed for some time... therefore the amount paid for room vs other hotels in Carroll we have stayed at, not sure was as of the value that I was expecting.

Checkout is 11 am. Staff started knocking on our door at 830 for cleaning and we told them we were not checked out yet. At 1030, a staff walked into our room without even knocking. I told the front desk staff and they didn’t say anything. No apology, just said it’s a busy morning. We will never stay here again and staff should be trained enough to knock on doors before entering!! Awful stay and no apology from the staff for the inappropriate walk in. Do not stay here!

Pros: Friendly & helpful staff. Perfect size pool for small kiddos. Good breakfast. Cons: No elevator to second floor. Rooms were out dated. Light in bathroom flickered. Half the room was unplugged as nothing turned on with us plugging back it in. Drawers randomly opened up. Had to turn AC down to 60 degrees to get room in the 70s.

For the money, I expected more. Our king bed was pushed up against one wall making it difficult to get to the one side. The breakfast provided was, at best, mediocre and the room's electrical wiring was very strange...if you shut off the main switch at the door, it shut off all the outlets in the room (?). Next trip we'll try another place.

A couple of upgrades would go a long way
The hotel was a little dated, but for some reason it had the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on (hotel). The mattress was near perfection. The front desk was very friendly during check-in and check-out. Breakfast was fair but would have been excellent if the pancake machine was working.
