Wonderful Wayfarer !
Fantastic friendly and down to earth professional people. Delicious breakfast and comfortable, clean room, bathroom and beds. Daily replenished refreshments in the room. Highly recommend.

Nothing too much trouble, great value B&B
We found the hosts very hospitable, friendly and made us feel very welcome. Moved their car to provide a parking spot for us. Breakfast was very good. Room was very clean and comfortable. Typical B&B decor, but recently painted and very clean. Great value. We would recommend and stay again.

Wayfarer a must stay when in Torquay.
Weekend stay for the annual West of England Brass Band Championships. Well located to the venue and a warm welcome from the host. Rooms very clean and comfortable and very reasonably priced. Will book again next year.

Short weekend visit
The Wayfarer is in an excellent location. A ten minute walk to seafront. Walkable distances to restaurants and coffee shops. Walkable distances to main shopping area but buses do run frequently. The Wayfarer could do with a little TLC. The towels were smelly. The bed was very uncomfortable the matress is in great need of replacing if not the whole bed. The room was clean. The breakfast - full English - was tasteless and somewhat greasy. The juices nasty and sweet. Won't be using the Wayfarer again.

Hi Tracey, the guest house has since changed hands and we are addressing a few of the issues mentioned here. We have already replaced all the beds and mattresses, along with all bedding etc. We are also now using produce from the local community, including the highly regarded butchers. It's a shame you didn't enjoy your stay, but if you do come to Torquay again why not pop in and see the changes! Best wishes, Kathy and Barry

Overall a good B & B.
A nice B and B. Good breakfast and clean but very small room. Limited parking on site. Excellent value B & B.

Great value guest house
For the price paid it is great value.The breakfasts are also good.It is an old building and this is reflected in the conversion. With a huge choice of places to stay in this area you cannot go wrong here.So if you require a few nights stay book soon as there are limited rooms.

Good value for money
Hosts do a very good job of welcoming guests and providing a decent breakfast. Room well stocked with beverages and toiletries. Downside for us was lack of parking and resulting difficulty in finding spaces on crammed streets.

this hotel was a good 10 mins walk to the beach and town centre The hotel was spotless the bedroom was clean and comfortable the breakfast was great we 4 people will definately be back thank you the wayfarer for making our weekend

Lovely B&B
My daughter and I stayed overnight in May. Spotless room. The bathroom door, at times, was a little hard to close. Breakfast was delicious. Owners very polite. Would recommend!

I've booked because I was needy to an exam in Torquay. The hotel is very comfortable. the staff very keen to help. I needed an early breakfast and they arranged lovely. I am deeply satisfied! Room and Bathroom very clean. Also, it was so quite.! really appreciated!

I'm afraid my room was so small there was hardly any room to manoevere around the bed. However, the room my friend stayed in was bigger and therefore more acceptable! But, her shower kept running cold, she thought the tank was too small.

Very good place
I really enjoyed my stay. Room was clean and well presented very comfy. The only thing is the heating a bit old but they do the job. Staff is super friendly and very helpful, breakfast was superb too! Thank you!

Wouldn't rush back, many other choices in the area
the check in was quick and the fellow seemed friendly enough. The room was comfortable and clean. The next morning was when things went down hill. You have 45 minutes for breakfast, from 0830-0915. The gents running the guest house looked like they had just rolls out of bed themselves, and having two rooms (only two despite no vacancy sign on door) was clearly an inconvenience for them. Nothing on the full English breakfast plate appeared to be cooked through (the only time in three week she of hotels/guest houses were we had canned mushrooms for breakie). I'm not sure I feel the two fellows running the house we're looking after it for the real owners, but they were not interested at all in service or making you feel welcome. At check out It was too much for the one fellow to get off the computer in the breakfast room to check us out, the key was left on the front table and we left. If a guest house proprietor is wanting a break/holiday, simply don't take any reservations; don't make your guests feel like they are putting you out by giving you their business. Will certainly look for any other options should my travels take me back to the area.

Would not stay again.
The only good thing about this b and b was the breakfast. I found black hairs in the toilet, my bed, the bathroom sink and one on the wall. The towels were very small their was no bath towel, only a small one and a hand towel. The towels smelt disgusting (like they left them in the machine) i could not use them , i still felt dirty after i had my shower. i arrived i rang the bell 3 times then they answered.i felt under valued and it felt as though they did not want me there Not worth the money.

Disappointing!
There was no hot water to the bathroom basin. The bed was uncomfortable with a thin mattress. The shower had poor pressure. The breakfast was of a cheap quality & the service very bad. We were given watery coffee & just browned toast. We were not asked if would like more of anything. Cereals & juice were not mentioned although they were in the room & in clear view of guests.

It was a pleasant and comfortable stay at Wayfarer Guest house. Location-wise its walkable to the seaside so i would say that is good.. more than anything the staff and their hospitality was very good.

One Night Stay
Great location. Close to Torre station and Torquay station. The sea is literally at the bottom of the road less than 5 mins away and then it's a 10 min lazy stroll to the harbour & city centre. Hotel was clean, quite and comfortable. I stayed in October so I'm not sure if many others were staying. If they were I didn't hear a sound! Plenty on offer at breakfast. The owners were warm and friendly. No problems at all

Super value for money
Booked online and got a courtesy call before arriving. Hotel set on a main road with some active roadworks during our stay but double-glazing was so good you couldn't hear a pneumatic drill inside - literally. Comfortable bed but my partner would prefer thicker curtains - the streetlights shone through. Breakfast selection was good and service friendly and efficient. At the price for B&B 2 people, it's very easy to recommend. Parking at rear was easy, but may be harder in high season as only two spaces.

Nice Hotel close to amenities and Harbour.
We arrived at the hotel late afternoon as traffic had been a pain but I pulled up outside to unload (double yellow lines) not a problem as loading/unloading is allowed, parking is limited (3 spaces behind Hotel) and could be a problem if no spaces are available. We were met by Phil who was friendly and warmly welcomed us to the Wayfarer where we signed the register and paid for our stay, he then showed us to our room and explained the house rules and asked if we needed anything else. The room was comfortable but as it was hot on our visit we had the window open and the road noise was quite loud but not enough to keep us awake. Breakfast is between 08.30 and 09.15 with a variety to choose from, we were served by Richard who was friendly and helpful and made sure we had everything we needed, the food was excellent if a little sparse depending on your appetite. Checkout was hassle free. Our stay was very pleasant and would recommend it without any problem.

Nice little hotel lovely staff
The hotel and room were clean and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. There was a lot of noise coming from the back entrance at night time but overall a very pleasant stay.
