I did not like we were asked to pay to iron our clothes, breakfast was poor and cheap, no electric kettle, or television which I could use. I requested 110 v or transformer, owner said they did not have one.

Sometimes Rustic Charm is Just Rustic
Great breakfast and evening meals, could not fault the staff who made the overall experience worth while. Restaurant could have a lovely view but undergrowth and trees been allowed to over grow so could only just see the sea. Hotel rooms very basic, no kettle, no tv and all european plugs, very tired and in need of refit. I love a firm mattress and it certainty was, others might not appreciate it. Internet from Room 12 was hopless, could not make video calls or watch programmes, even listening to the radio on my phone was hard work. This needs to be addressed and just not acceptable. Witnessed the staff being told off several times in front of guests which was not nice to see and very unprofessional. Overall very odd experience.

This is a great place to relax and take in Dominica. The rooms all have nice balcony views of the ocean and the sunsets are amazing. The property is serene with its gardens and a good place to see hummingbirds, bananaquits, and other birds. Additionally, the hotel restaurant has excellent food, affordably priced with a daily special. Restaurant is closed on Tuesdays so make other arrangements. By far and away, the highlight of this property are the owners themselves who go above and beyond to help guests. They can arrange any tour, transfer, or other request you have; so you can save yourself the trouble of planning and enjoy your holiday.

Safe, clean, friendly. Relaxing patio with great views of the Caribbean Sea. The property owner, Stefan, is very friendly and accommodating.

The sunsets were amazing each evening. The owners were extremely helpful making sure I was able to see and do everything I had planned on the island.

Dear guest We are very sorry that you were disappointed about your half night stay at The Tamarind Tree from 10pm to 4.30am. Checking on the hotels.com website with whom we do not have a contract it indeed says 19 kms from Melville Hall Airport (DOM) what is wrong as the 19 kms refer to Canefield Airport (DCF). We unfortunately have no control on what a 3rd party (i.e. hotels.com) is posting. However, when we were called from the airport DOM we clearly stated how far away the hotel is located and how long the drive would take (1h15mins) and were told that you did not mind. Dinner is served from 6 pm to 8.30 pm. We usually charge a late check-in fee after 7pm that was waived. Breakfast is served from 07.30am to 10am. Unfortunately breakfast at 4am is not possible at our small structure. The soap/shower gel dispenser is mounted on the wall in the bathroom. And you are absolutely right: The Tamarind Tree Hotel & Restaurant has always been, is and will always be a TV-free zone. Very much to the joy of our holiday guests. We hope you have a safe trip. A treasure of a place in Dominica!
Relaxing four days on the most beautiful island of Dominica, the Tamarind Tree Hotel was the perfect place after a very busy week elsewhere in the Caribbean. Excellent facilities and service, friendly, helpful and efficient staff, and the owners are always «  hands on » and really knowledgeable about the island.

L’hotel Est situé à une trentaine de minutes de Roseau en voiture et est très isolé de tout magasin ou restaurant à pieds, c’es Le gros point faible. Sans voiture, c’est la galère mais nous avons trouvé des petit bus collectif à 5 dollar carabean par personne qui passent en bas de l’hôtel. Vous pouvez aussi demander une navette mais là, ça vous coûtera les yeux de la tête et les prix ne sont pas affichés. Les prix du menu le soir sont également trop élevés donc sans voiture, difficile de ne pas se sentir complètement libre de choisir autre chose. Le vrai plus de cet hôtel, c’est le cadre, la vue, la propreté. Nous avions lors de notre réservation demandé sur hôtel.com une location de voiture et à notre arrivée, la propriétaire nous indique qu’il n’y a plus aucune voiture de disponible sur toute l’ile Car c’est le carnaval. Nous avons donc été très déçues car c’etait La raison d’etre de ce séjour à Roseau qui nous a au final coûté beaucoup plus cher que si nous avions eu à louer une voiture. Quand je pense que l’hotel, qui avait d’aill Oublié de les compter, nous facturé aussi cher ces transfert pour aller à Roseau ! Il paraît que l’honnetete paie toujours! Bref, un goût plutôt amer, je n’aime pas avoir l’impression d’e Prise pour une vache à lait ! Autre conseil, il ne faut payer qu’en monnaie locale. Les dollars américains sont acceptés partout mais je ne vous dit pas la marge ! Notamment au resto de la plage de Meru où nous avons mangé avec d’autres clients.

Annette and Stephan were good hosts and it was probably the the only eco friendly place we found in Dominica. There were 4 lovely dogs that they adopted and were a welcome site to see considering all the stray dogs on the island that were struggling to live. The food was VERY good although a bit pricey. The views were wonderful and the property well kept. Our only complaint was that the beds were way too hard. Bathroom was beautiful.

The day you arrived we simply informed you that you had to check with Expedia and referred to the cancellation policy; at no point did we make any commitment to divert from the cancellation policy posted on the booking site. Great view
A nice place with a great view. You need a car since it is far from things, but a to rent a car is a good idea for this island. The nice and friendly owner take good care of you. Good food and breakfast included. The bed was a little hard, a extra mattress would be nice.

I will not book this hotel ever again because that’s not a hotel. No television no hot water no telephone no air condition. I would not advise anyone to book this place.

Dear Rolando We are sorry to read that you did not enjoy your stay at The Tamarind Tree Hotel. You had booked a standard room and our 9 standard rooms do not have air conditioning, but ceiling fan, additional standing fan and natural ventilation. As an Eco-Hotel we use as many of the natural features as possible like the location on top of a cliff overlooking the Caribbean sea what allows for a constant light breeze. Our 6 superior rooms have A/C. This is stated on our website. During your stay there was a superior room available at a superior room rate. The Tamarind Tree Hotel & Restaurant has always been and is a "TV-free Zone" as stated on ourwebsite, much to the liking of our guests. We also would like to mention that we are not yet reconnected to any of the cable TV networks that existed before "Maria", therefore there is no TV at all. However, there is free WiFi available throughout the property and our guests can watch online whatever they like. Their are no telephones in the rooms for the same reason as stated above. Everybody travels with cell phones and most of the persons do have whatsup. Should the need arise to call a local cell phone number this can easily be done at the front desk upon request. The landline has not been re-established in our area since "Maria". In respect to the hot water we truly apologize. We were not aware of that problem and we have fixed it since. Nice quiet hotel close to beach and scuba diving
We stayed 8 nights in this very well run hotel, it was very well organised, very clean, very friendly and helpful staff, good food in the restaurant overlooking the sea, 5 min walk to a quiet sandy beach frequented by Pelicans, Iguanas and Fregatebirds. Down there is also a beach bar and a very good diving facility ('east carib dive'). It's a little off the main tourist areas so a car is certainly useful to have to be able to explore the island. Rooms are tidy, not big, but clean and with mosquito screens and ceiling fans. Reasonably priced, owners Stefan and Anette doing their utmost to make you feel welcome and will help with all sorts of aspects of your stay, so it's well worth it !

truly a nature island
The people running the hotel and staff were always very helpful in many ways. The food at the restaurant was good with wine and beer also available. T.he location was good to see many parts of the island. It is not a luxury hotel, but was comfortable and clean.

L hôtel est propre cependant les chambres ne sont pas climatisées et il fait chaud et il y a plein de moustiques. De plus lhotel propose un repas le soir à 25 euros alors que sur l'île on mange facilement pour 5 euros et très bien, il profite selon moi des visiteurs européens. Le restaurant le plus cher de roseau coûte 15 euros !! Le repas. De plus l'hôtel n'est arrangeant en rien ils organisent les excursions avec les prestataires les plus chers de l'île et ne s'adapte en rien a vous. Malgré un accueil sympathique je pense qu'il profite largement du fait que l'on soit européen et que l'on ne connaisse pas le niveau de vie de la Dominique et sur factures les prestations de ce fait ils ne sont pas honnêtes. Je ne le recommande donc pas.

Super und absolut empfehlenswert
Ein super Hotel, mit einem sehr gutem Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Frühstücksbuffet mit leckeren Früchten wie Maracuja und Mangos, selbstgemachter Marmeldade,...usw.. Tauchbasis ist in wenigen Minuten zu Fuss zu erreichen und ist ebenfalls top, wer eine familiäre Atmosphäre dem Rudeltauchen bevorzugt.

L'hôtel est familiale, simple mais accueillant. La vue est très agréable et sa situation sur l'île est appréciable pour découvrir la Dominique. Une piscine petite,mais sympa pour ce détendre après une journée, un espace bar pour un petit apéro et les repas sont simples mais tout à fait correctes. Les chambres ne sont pas luxueuses mais tout à fait suffisantes pour des vacances. Pour ceux qui recherche le 4*, ce n'est pas l'endroit mais pour passer un agréable séjour, je le conseil. Je le recommande donc .....

Gute preiswerte Küche. Höflicher Service. Dieses Hotel wird von Deutschen/Schweizern geführt. Wen es nicht stört, dass man hier Deutsch spricht, fühlt sich hier wohl. Die Zimmer sind einfach eingerichtet, aber sauber und zweckmässig. Das Hotels ist etwas abgelegen. Man benötigt definitiv ein Auto.

Not attractive as you drive up. Rooms face the ocean and have a wonderful view. We ate hotel's choice of a dinner each evening at a reasonable price. Food was good including a large breakfast that was included. Check the room rate. We thought the cost would be what was quoted. When we arrived we were told it did not include A/C, so we had to pay many dollars more each night for what they call a "superior" room.. That took us by surprise. Owners and employees were very nice.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL
LITERALLY IT SMELLS LIKE SEWAGE IN YOUR ROOM. POOL IS 10 X 10. HOT TUB NOT HOT. HOTEL IS LISTED AS OCEANFRONT, BUT HOTEL IS ON A CLIFF 300 FEET ABOVE SEA LEVEL. NO BEACH. NO ACCESS TO THE WATER. NOTHING GOOD ABOUT THIS PLACE. NOTHING. WE CHECKED OUT AFTER STAYING ONE DAY AND THE HOTEL HAS REFUSED TO REFUND OUR MONEY... RUINED MY VACATION.
