Great stay
Was a great weekend break, room was big bed was very comfortable. Places near by to eat and sights to see. I would stay again if I was to visit area.

Lovely Stay
Lovely large comfortable room which was immaculately clean. Breakfast was generous and staff friendly. Great for birdwatching visit to Arne.

Did the job
Clean and comfortable . Good choice of fòod at breakfast. Attentive and friendly staff. Only downside was we were in a room facing the main road and this was busy in the morning. Also train track is not that far away...

We stayed for 2 nights, the room was lovely and comfy, very clean and very spacious, more than ample for the 4 of us. Everyone there was friendly and helpful, they recommended a taxi company that could accommodate my grandaughter's wheelchair and made the initial booking to get us from the train station to Kemp House. Breakfast was lovely, plenty of choice and plenty to eat! The only drawback for us is that you need a car if you stay there as it is a few miles from anywhere.

Not a hotel, just a B&B
When we booked it was listed as a 4.5 star hotel with a price tag to match. When we arrived the sign said Kemps Bed and Breakfast. The room was nice and clean, however, when the limited breakfast finished at 9am (too early for holiday makers) there were no other facilities available until breakfast the next morning. The WiFi only worked for about 2 minutes throughout the 2 days we stayed and there was no phone signal. Feel rather duped into paying for an expensive hotel but only getting a mediocre B&B which should have been half the price. Very disappointed.

Happy to Recommend
This was our second stay at Kemps Country House, as before the room was clean and well serviced. The breakfast provided is very good with sufficient choice for our needs. The owners and staff were always helpful and cheerful. We had only one minor complaint in that my wife found the bed a little too soft for her. Other than that we would happily recommend them.

Awesome country ambience
Huge room by brit standards. Would have been nice to have 2 beds instead of bed and sofa bed. There would be plenty of room for 2 beds. Excellent breakfast. Real british vintage country feel to the place.

The owners and breakfast staff were friendly, breakfast was good. But our room was not cleaned very well. There were so many spiders in the room on our arrival. Generally the B&B was run down. Its definitely not 4.5 star property as advertised by Expedia so that rating is not trustworthy. I will be very cautious to use Expedia again as this property was falsely advertised, it was more like a 2 or 3 star property at best. I might use tripadvisor instead. It was very expensive for the price we paid. I would have rather had stayed in Premier Inn. At least Premier Inn properties would be clean and premises better maintained and i would have saved money.

Clean, modern and great service.
Relatively modern rooms which are kept very clean, great service from the accommodating staff. I am a vegan and the staff were very friendly in making me a made-to-order breakfast. Would definitely recommend.

Our room was in one of the attached chalets, it was huge as was the bed. Also a large en suite with great shower in bath & plenty of shelf/cupboard space for our toiletries/make up etc. The room has aircon/heater, the heater was used as room was fairly cold due to temperatures outside. Although the room has 3 windows the sun doesnt come in, so room is quite dark. Outside is a patio with chairs. Loads of easy parking. English/continental breakfast, dining room very pleasant. I loved the 'Gold' radio station playing in there, 60s/70s, just my era.

Lovely stay
Great location to stay in. Easy access to get to monkey world, durdle door, lulworth cove, the castle(as long as u drive, i recommend it to be a great location). Easy to locate. Homely. Very clean. We stayed in the executive double room. Comfy mattress (let us catch our sleep). Good breakfast. Helpful staff. Would definitely go back if in the area.

In my opinion this hotel is greatly over-priced. My room was very dated and tired looking and noisy as I could hear conversations being carried out in the stairwell abutting my room, and in the room above. On the flip side those in the room above would also have heard me snoring! So I apologise to them if they read this. :-)

Visiting Monkey world
We travelled to the area specifically to visit Monkey world and the Bovington tank museum, which are both within a few miles of the hotel which was extremely convenient for both. The room was spacious and comfortable. The accommodation was clean and well maintained. There is no evening meal available but there are perfectly good places to eat within a few minutes drive. Breakfast was standard fare and with significant over night rain there were some leaks in the roof of the breakfast room. Overall we were pleased with the accommodation but it might be a little more expensive than I would expect for this level of accommodation normally.

Lite äldre, lite slitet hus dock inte rummet vi fick som var nyrenoverat, kanske därför det var lite dyrt. Fanns billigare rum i ett annex.

Great hotel, good location
Our room had just been refurbished to a good standard and was spacious and very comfortable. Good choice for breakfast with attentive staff. Location is excellent for visiting the many nearby attractions.

Faulty Towers in Dorset!!! Avoid if possible
The hotel does not have a restaurant in the evenings! Despite it saying it does not only on here but also on its own website, the sign outside the entrance and in the booklet in the room! Also despite the price listed on Hotel.com we had to pay an extra £35 per person per night on arrival!! The whole hotel is tired and grubby, it’s run in a way very similar to Faulty Towers with the Waiting Staff at breckfast being superb and the manager and his wife being more than a little eccentric.....oh and a cat that wanders at will through the hotel too. Nothing quite works correctly and all sorts of little things were broken or missing. The shower head holder was broken so had to be wedged in place, the shower tray didn’t drain as you used the shower so quick shower or flooded bathroom your choice, the kettle in the room sounded like it was about to explode, and they forgot to give us any towels. It’s also a popular spot for flies to come and die it seems as many many little bodies littered the flat surfaces in hallways, heaven knows when the windows were last cleaned. In the entertainingly incorrect booklet in the room it mentioned if you needed breckfast before 8am on a weekend you could have this by prior arrangement...after a struggle they agreed to 7:45! We went down at 7:30 and the afore mentioned waiting staff let us in and sorted tea etc. The saving grace was the lovely breckfast and the ladies that served it. You won’t be surprised to know the hotel is up for sale!

Nice hotel, friendly staff. Away from the nearest town so you will need to drive if you are eating dinner away from the hotel.

Rooms are very good but no telephones in rooms.No facility to contact teception if needed. No lounge area ..a small bar.Breakfast average. Corridor heating are turned off hence cold. Be prepared,this hotel is an isolated though Wareham is just down the road.

Comfortable rooms in a convenient location
The hotel is well placed for accessing some beautiful countryside and coastline, as well as interesting towns. It is on quite a busy road but we did not find this or the railway line mentioned in other reviews disturbed us at all unduly. Annex rooms are huge and very well presented.

The Kemps Country Hotel is a little jaded around the edges. The breakfast was good but I wouldn't recommend eating an evening meal at the hotel.

Service as it used to be
From the moment we arrived and the owner came out to greet us to when we left everything was perfect and nothing too much trouble. The room was large and clean, food excellent and service second to none. Will definitely book again if in the area.

I think this hotel was over priced and over sold. We anticipated a country house hotel experience with a family room so we could explore the area with our daughter. What we got was a very expensive motel room. It was very clean but I could not beleive that we had paid £170 for a night in a motel which lacked any real style, where the reception consisted of a room of a hall where we were just given our key, shown through a dated conservatory and told our room was the one past the random plastic garden chair. The facillities in the room were standard with no country house charm, as was the decor. We were very disappointed. This was further compounded by the breakfast served in the dated conservatory. Although the staff were friendly the breakfast was hugely underwhelming - cereal boxes, random tinned fruit and jam in plastic sachets. A real throw back. This was all in a conservatory with a net roofing that seemed designed to catch numerous dead flies. As I say, we felt cheated out of £170.

Close to Jurassic coast
Relaxing break. Wareham, Weymouth, West Bay and Arne RSPB RESERVE all close to visit. Beautiful part of the world.
