Lovely guesthouse
Lovely guest house in the centre of Shaftesbury. Nice touches such as filter coffee and refrigerated milk in the room, along with great service make this guest house stand out from the crowd.

Honestly the hotel was just great, the location to the town was an easy walk, super clean room, good wifi and the food was to excellent. Friendly staff and very helpful.

Loved this hotel.A very relaxed set up, felt like we were staying at a friend’s house for the night. Breakfast was delicious, couldn’t try dinner as it was a Sunday and dinner isn’t provided on Sundays.Would definitely recommend staying here.

Lovely hotel staff and breakfast was excellent. It’s just not an ideal place if you’re a light sleeper. The rooms aren’t exactly sound proof; we could hear chatter from the dining room below and snoring from the room above ours. Perfectly fine for one night but if we’d stayed for another night we would have asked for a room not above the dining area.

Well located for our purposes (a family wedding nearby). Not far from the main road, and within easy walking distance of Shaftesbury town centre. On-site parking is very limited, but we were able to use a public car park a couple of hundred yards away. Comfortably furnished in a homely, country style - although our room felt slightly overcrowded with furniture: the wardrobe, desk and sofa seemed a bit too big. Staff were welcoming and helpful

The place to stay in Shaftesbury.
A wonderful ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Delight. We had car trouble just outside of town and luckily ended up on their doorstep. Thank goodness there was room at the inn! Wonderful staff, nice clean & spacious rooms, comfortable bed. Large lounging area full of books and a backyard patio with much needed cool breezes on a July evening. The food was amazing! Scrumptious sandwiches in the evening, dining room was full of enticing dinner choices- but we had had a long evening and wanted something. A delicious morning breakfast with many choices to order from. Everything was great. A special nod to the amazing staff who with a few calls helped us get another interim rental car a local car tire company to replace the tire. Thank you!

Very much a family home environment (no lift). Very comfortable and service good. Reception a bit haphazard but they were/are very busy.

Really nice room and en-suite only thing letting it down was the TV (5 channels! If you could get them to work!) Restaurant and food was really top quality although quite expensive worth it though.

One night business stay
Overnight stay with business, not able to really comment on the surrounding area. The room was clean, tidy and well presented. Staff were helpful and polite. I didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment on the food. My only reservation would be parking is limited and you can easily find yourself blocked in which isn't ideal if you arrive late and need to leave early. The internet was a good connection with no additional charges. Would I stay there again? Yes.

Probably one of the best stays ever in a uk hotel
Everything was just perfect. Super clean room with every possible comfort right down to fresh milk and homemade biscuits. Service was impeccable and very friendly. Evening dinner was superb and highly recommended.

Quaint. Polite staff. Nice rooms. Wifi tied to house inroom computers....interesting, and somewhat slow. Dining area and downstairs elegant.

A very homely hotel with happy knowledgeable staff. They've been around Shaftesbury for a long time, so they're obviously doing something right. AND you can park there.

A relaxing overnight stay.
The restaurant was surprisingly quiet for a Friday evening, but the food was good. Our room was a bit cramped for the price but reasonably comfortable. The hotel seemed to blend in well with the quiet atmosphere of a small county town. Overall a pleasant stay.

Stay for friend's 60th birthday party at Hotel
After a long slow drive from London it was nice to arrive at a charming small hotel where I could sit quietly in the garden enjoying a drink. My room was so well appointed I could not find the smallest fault. The evening party was held at the Hotel which accommodated 32 of us for an evening meal which was excellent as was the wine. Staff brilliant and friendly. The following morning I had the perfect full English breakfast all done with the minimum of fuss and full of politeness. Not only would I use the Hotel again but would strongly recommend it to others. I don't think another Hotel in Shaftesbury could have beaten it on charm and relaxation.

Lovely overnight stop in Shaftesbury
Stopped here on way back from Cornwall and was very pleasantly surprised at how nice the rooms were, given this is not the primary focus for the owners. The room was very comfortable and provided everything we needed. The breakfast was excellent, very well cooked and presented. After check out the staff allowed us to leave our car in the car-park, enabling us to visit the town and enjoy the annual food fair on Sunday 13/May.

We had a very enjoyable mini-break, which was aimed at marking my wife's 50th birthday. Shaftesbury was a great place to stay (lots of good walks in the town and in the countryside nearby), and the hotel and restaurant were both first-rate. The restaurant lived up to its aim of offering fine dining (including a solid wine list), while the hotel had a very homely air (albeit a better-appointed home than our regular one!). Our hosts could not have been more welcoming.

Ich fühle mich hier wie zu Hause und nicht wie im Hotel. Alles ist hier gemütlich. Ein Dinner im Restaurant ist während des Aufenthalts ein Muss. Die Gastronomie ist wirklich sehr gut.

Das Hotel ist unheimlich gemütlich, typisch englisch eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Mary, David und Marc verstehen ihren Job. Größter Lob. Das Restaurant ist Spitze. Die feinste Küche , die man so weit auf dem Lande nicht erwartet. Ich bin hier schon dritten Mal gewesen und freue mich jedesmal auf die excellenten Gerichte und gut ausgesuchten Weine.
