BED BUGS! BED BUGS! BED BUGS!
My friend and I arrived at the Marilyn Mansion at night, tired from the flight and fell asleep pretty quickly. The next morning, as we were getting ready, we found some sizeable bed bugs crawling along the sides of the sheets. We also noticed that some of the carpeting in our room (room 17) was coming away from the floor. My friend had bite marks on her arms and on her side. We felt so disgusted that, after stripping the beds, shaking out all our clothes, bags, the suitcase, everything, we packed everything up and immediately found somewhere else to stay.
We informed the room attendant, who was very understanding and gave us the card of the owner. I called to let him know that we found bed bugs and that we were leaving. He said to me on the phone, "we can talk about processing a refund if needed", to which we both replied "oh yeah it's needed".
Once we had moved to new accommodation, I emailed him to inquire about the refund, and even attached pictures of the bites my friend had on her person. It's been a week and still no reply or refund.
I would say you get what you pay for, but we paid £859 for a week-long stay, and we had been there less than 12 hours before waking up with bed bugs and leaving.
