The apartment was cozy and clean. It had a good kitchenette and the AC worked well. We thought we were going to enjoy our stay.
HOWEVER, the walls, despite being medieval stone, were "paper thin" - we were in the bottom unit of a three-unit apartment block, each room stacked on top of the other, and everything that happened in the stairwell and the room above came right into our space - loud, vibrating and impossible to ignore! Do NOT stay here if there are other people staying in the rooms above you (I suspect we could be heard in the units above as well).
It was absolutely a nightmare the first night, because it was completely quiet until 10:30pm - and then the people above us arrived! Quiet hours are supposedly 9pm-8am - why set those hours if you're going to allow guests to arrive after 9pm?? Seriously - we were jolted out of our bed! It was like a herd of elephants arriving!
The last night, the folks staying above us had left. That was the only peaceful night we had. The other days, we could hear their alarm going off as if it was in the same room with us!
The manager never came back after the first day, even though she said she needed more info from us. Plus we owed city tax, as far as I knew, but she didn't come back to collect it. We were left entirely on our own (we could have used fresh towels by the third day...).
The noise situation alone makes this place unacceptable. It's cute and cozy, but that doesn't make up for the noise!
