Das Hotel.direkt in der Innenstad ist eine perfekte Destination für Familien und kleinere Gruppen. Der ausserordentlich freundliche und zuvorkommende Staff bietet von Anfang eine familiäre Umgebung. Es gibt zudem in der Nähe viel zu entdecken, für gross und klein. Saft und Kaffee bedürften allerdings einer Aufwertung. Das Buffet ist trotzdem gut, fast sehr gut.

Exactly what it says on the tin: a budget hotel in a very good location, esp if you are a tourist. The area to the front of the hotel was usually occupied by some of Edinburgh’s alcoholics. Not threatening but a bit grim to see. Obvs nothing Ibis can do about this.

We enjoyed our stay at Ibis - Hunter Square. The location was perfect and we enjoyed the bar at the lobby several evenings. The rooms were cleaned and everything was as expected. Even though our room faced the street there was no noise at night coming from the street. This might be due to the cold temperatures at night and less people out. If you are sensitive to noises maybe a room without a view would be best - they do offer ear plugs.

Perfect location for experiencing the Royal mile. The staff is very pleasant and helpful. Rooms are on the smaller side but very comfortable and perfect for the solo or partner travelers.

The highlight of the stay was the location. Lots of quirky bars nearby, plenty of restaurants, just off the royal mile so lots to see and do all within easy walking distance.

Great location on a budget.
Great for a one or two night visit to Edinburgh. The location is excellent, just off the royal mile. Lots of attractions, bars, restaurants very close by. Reception staff friendly and helpful. We were able to leave our bags in a luggage room when we arrived early and this allowed us to go exploring straight away. The room was clean, however the window had been left open and it was -4° outside so the room was freezing and took a while to heat up. There is very little storage space for clothes so you would struggle for space if you were staying for more than a vouple of nights. Breakfast is a typical budget hotel buffet. Warm, not hot food. Reasonable choice but nothing special. Overall a great budget hotel in a great location and we would definitely stay here again.

Great stay. GREAT LOCATION. Basis hotel no frills but very clean and lovely staff. We as a couple got a family room plenty big for us but would have being difficult for a family space wise. No safe provided. Breakfast good but the bacon and sausage needed more cooking. Continental end off the breakfast very good and tasty

Location is the reason to stay. But poor reception service, just wanted to use micro wave to heat my food, but been refused due to the reason of my food would cause contamination. This excuse was first maybe the last time in my life heard about.

Perfect gelegen in het oude centrum van Edinburgh en tevens natuurlijk pal aan de Royal Mile. Daarnaast waren de kamers ook zeer goed en over de bedden kan ik ook niets aan- of opmerken. Al met al is het voor herhaling vatbaar.

Great location right near the Royal mile. Very friendly/helpful staff. Great breakfast options.

Excellent location, good comfortable room, clean room, dog friendly, nice modern look spaces and great breakfast. The only bad comment is the carpets in corridors, bedroom and dinning area are all very dirty.
