Nice location and a very pleasant host
The host is a really nice guy who was extremely helpful when needed.. our neighboring room were extremely loud and walls are thing which was very annoying.

Ett mycket udda ställe med mycket originella hemsnickrade lösningar. Ett litet ”Alice i Underlandet”. Kan inte rekommendera till andra resenärer, men har man små pretentioner på boende kan det säkert vara charmigt. Måste dock tillägga att ägaren var mycket vänlig och serviceminded så ett plus här.

Good value and location.
This is a charming family run B&B where the hosts are really helpful and accommodating. We had an early am flight and they were happy to give us breakfast earlier than the scheduled time and arrange for a taxi for us too. It’s an old property in a great location with good restaurants, public transportation and the sights of Edinburgh at a walkable distance. The shared bathrooms can be a bit of a deterrent but no other drawbacks at all.

Massively overprized and not very welcoming
I was extremely disappointed with this place. Calling it a hotel is a stretch, it seemed more like what you would expect from a cheap hostel. The toilet and shower was shared with all the other guests, and the shower was stuffed in a tiny closet. The whole thing seemed claustrophobic and a little dirty, with sticky surfaces and furniture that you would not want to touch or put your clothes in. The room I stayed in was long and narrow, and obviously a larger room that had been split in two to fit more people on the premises. The whole thing smelled of wanting to make money and I found this place to be massively overprized compared to what I got. The owner was polite but very defensive and kind of Scrooge like with money. When we arrived the door was locked and we misunderstood a sign that led us to the basement of the premises. This was just an innocent misunderstanding, but the owner immediately let us know that is was our own fault as we could have just rung the bell. Which of course was true, but didn't feel like a nice way to be received. I would never stay at this place again and I would not recommend it to anyone else.

Nice room, great location - we chose not to have breakfast and rather explore the many surrounding restaurants( Gardeners Cottage was extraordinary!)

Wonderful!
Greg was very kind during check in. Gave me the run down of the BNB and gave me some local tips on where to eat. As a solo female traveler, I felt very safe at Lyncliff. The front doors would close and be locked at 11 and open back up around 8 or so. There was also a key to enter the building as well as your room. All in all, I would stay here again.

Gregg was a fantastic host! He cooked us a traditional Scottish breakfast early on the morning we had to leave for the tour. Our room was comfortable and clean and the shared washroom and showers were not an issue. Beautiful place. Great location close to the train and bus station.

It's in at a quiet neighborhood, close to Calton Hill. There are several restaurants and a supermarket near by.

Great location 5 no. Walk from playhouse. Bus stop right outside of u could up princes street in about 20 min. Breakfast was great. Would definitely recommend and would staying again.

Shared bathrooms, not for me.
I must confess, when I first booked this hotel I did not realise that the bathroom/toilets would be shared with other guests. This is a big no-no for me, at this stage in my life! And especially when both shower rooms were so small that I could barely lift my arms, and one of them had a dodgy door which wouldn't close properly. Is it still a hotel if it has shared bathrooms, isn't that a hostel? However, the hotel is in a good area, right across the road from Calton Hill, and a 10min walk to the city centre, 30mins by bus or taxi to the airport. The room was ok, a long strip with two beds opposite each other, and because it was in a residential area and there were other gardens behind us, there was some noise from barbecues one evening. We only stayed for 3 days during Easter, which was bearable, but I wouldn't go back.

Not a bad choice for a short stay
Apart from the fact that wc and shower were outside the room everything was clean and theres a nice breakfast included. Location is pretty convenient and i would recommend it for a short stay.

Very centrally located hotel run by a very gracious and helpful couple. Very clean and tidy but no ensuite which was a bit troublesome. would certainly recommend to others. Breakfast was served daily but too much quantity so did not partake

Excellent choice!
This was our favorite stay during our trip to Scotland, especially in Edinburgh. Gregg and Isabella are wonderful. They go out of their way. In addition, it is centrally located to the downtown without being in the noisy areas. Easy access to the tram, on-off buses, Edinburgh Castle, Royal Mile, Museum (which is free), shopping...

O hotel está bem localizado, próximo de tudo! Fomos, muito bem recebidos! O quarto era limpo, porem na descrição não informava que o banheiro era compartilhado! Entretanto, estava bem limpo, como se limpassem constantemente. Vale a pena.

Great location, comfortable stay
Excellent central location in Edinburgh, room was clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly. The only sticking point was a lack of shower facilities in the room, though we had access to two shared shower rooms.

Friendly, clean, amazing area
Went with my daughter for an over night stay for Mother's Day, local to a great amount of everything possible and close to princes street and museums, host was so friendly and def go back in a heartbeat beat

we decided on a day in Edinburgh although we only stay an hour away we had a day out child free. We visited The Dungeons then to the pub to watch the rugby and a few drinks this b&b is great as its only a 10 minute walk from George st so no need to worry about getting taxis

Masser at se på i Edinburgh. Rolige værelser på trods af central beliggenhed. Bad og toilet på gang, men sjældent optagede, da hotellet er ret lille. God service fra værtspar og ok rengøringsstandard. Sammenlignet m pris kunne vi nok ikke have boet bedre.

The owner cares
This is not a fancy place but it is meticulous and the owner cares a lot about maintaining his hotel. Beds were comfortable. A sink in the room. Excellent and very generous breakfast. Great and safe location beside Calton Hill.
